Chapter 62 - Chapter 62

Devil Fruit.

A Devil Fruit is a mysterious product of the Pirate World, shrouded in countless secrets. No one truly knows where it originates.

According to Vegapunk, the world's foremost genius scientist, a Devil Fruit's powers are born from ancient prayers and the desires of humanity.

Of course… this remains an unproven theory.

Similarly, there are various theories about how Devil Fruits transfer their powers. The common belief is that when the current user dies, the ability randomly reincarnates into a new fruit. Yet, few realize that sometimes the Devil Fruit's powers can transfer directly to a nearby fruit.

Sugisawa Yuuto, being a time traveler, naturally knew this secret.

However, even he could not be certain it would work with 100% reliability.

After his plan to awaken the Dragon King species by absorbing Enel's lightning had failed, Yuuto had to consider other options. One possibility was directly acquiring the Logia Thunder Fruit ability. Regardless of whether it would awaken the Dragon King Seed, obtaining the Thunder Fruit ability would still be advantageous.

The question was: how?

Killing Enel was only a matter of minutes for Yuuto. His worry was whether the Thunder ability would transfer to a nearby fruit upon Enel's death. If it escaped… locating it again would be a nightmare.

As Yuuto pondered this, Wendy approached, somehow seeing through his thoughts.

He had asked casually, not expecting much. But Wendy's reaction surprised him. She seemed a bit nervous, as if worried about disappointing him. Yuuto wanted to reassure her—failure was okay—but he didn't get the chance.

The next moment, Wendy changed the subject and spoke with confidence.

Yuuto: "???"

He froze. Wendy claimed she had a way to do it. Yuuto wondered if she was joking—but knowing Wendy, she rarely misled others.

"What's wrong, Chairman?" Wendy smiled.

"Wendy, what I mean is, I need a method to separate a Devil Fruit's abilities from a person's body," Yuuto emphasized.

"I know!" Wendy replied naturally.

A brief silence followed.

"Then try," Yuuto decided, trusting her. Even if it failed, there would be no loss. If Enel died, it would be fate—but Wendy, kind as she was, would not kill lightly, even a villain like Enel.

Quickly, Yuuto took Wendy to the cage where Enel was held. Seeing them approach, the two Sandia Warriors hurriedly bowed.

"Go join the others at the banquet, and keep everyone else away from here for now!" Yuuto instructed.

"Yes!" The two warriors retreated.

Yuuto's eyes remained fixed on Wendy, ready to watch her work. But Wendy wasn't in a rush.

"President," she asked, "if I help you separate the Devil Fruit's ability, can you promise me a request?"

"Of course," Yuuto replied without hesitation. "One? Ten? It doesn't matter."

Even without the promise, Yuuto would never refuse Wendy anything.

Wendy smiled faintly and stretched her small hand toward the seriously injured, unconscious Enel. Scarlet magic flowed out, covering him.

"Ah ah ah!"

Shrill screams echoed as arcs of electricity separated from Enel's body.

"Hmm?" Yuuto frowned.

Involuntarily, he recalled the scene of the Akatsuki separating tailed beasts in the Hokage World. From what he observed, Enel's Thunder Fruit ability was indeed being separated.

But… how was Wendy doing this? Yuuto hadn't known she possessed such a powerful technique.

A sudden realization struck him. This method resembled both the separation of tailed beasts and the detachment of magic. He understood now: this was Separation and Attachment Magic.

As the name implied, it allowed one to detach and attach properties from any object—a high-level, advanced magic. Its creator had tremendous background.

Wendy was a member of the Twelve Shields, protectors of the Kingdom of Alba Reiss in the Fairy Tail World, bearing the scarlet title of Despair. Alongside Magic King Olghast, her strength far surpassed the other twelve shields.

She had another even more terrifying identity: Irene, the Dragon Mother, who had created dragon-slaying magic by attaching dragon power to humans. A deep bond connected her to Fairy Tail—Queen Erza was her daughter.

In their final battle, Irene had even possessed Wendy's body using this advanced magic, aiding her in missions for over a century. Perhaps this was why Wendy could now master Separation and Attachment Magic.

Yuuto reflected: Wendy had participated in the Sky Island mission and defeated Priest Seurat, gaining skill improvements.

Just as he considered this, Wendy completed the separation. The arcs of lightning from Enel's body gathered midair, forming a perfect lightning symbol. Was this the essence of the Devil Fruit's power?

Without waiting for Yuuto to examine it further, Wendy waved her hand. The symbol transformed into a lightning flash, rushing directly into Yuuto's body.

For a moment, he froze—but this was not dangerous. He could feel the Thunder Fruit ability merging within him. The Dragon King species, previously unshakable by daylight lightning absorption, was now truly awakening. This was the correct path.

Yuuto ignored everything else. He sat, eyes closed, feeling the changes coursing through his body. The Dragon King Seed, empowered by the Thunder Fruit ability, began its evolution and metamorphosis.

Wendy glanced at him, a faint smile, then left.

City Center, Clock Tower Square.

"Wendy, where have you been?" Xia Lulu asked, stepping forward.

"Nothing much, just a little trouble with the president earlier," Wendy replied.

"Hey~" A drunken Nami rushed over. Mirajane and Juvia exchanged curious looks.

"Wendy, the president didn't… hurt you, did he?" Nami asked.

Wendy paused, then laughed lightly.

"Nothing like that," she said, shaking her head. Perhaps later she would "try it" in jest.

"It's fine, Wendy. You're young, just wait until you grow a little," Nami scolded playfully. Wendy, at a loss for words, let Vivi help the tipsy Nami away.

"Where's the president now?" Erza asked. Wendy didn't speak, only gazed quietly at her.

"What's wrong? You looking at me like that—something on my face?" Erza asked.

"Nothing. But regarding the president, it's better not to interfere for now," Wendy replied, turning toward Fairy Tail.

"Hey, Xia Lulu, do you think Wendy seems… different today?" Juvia asked.

"Emmm…" Xia Lulu frowned.

"Well, Wendy is Wendy. Probably just from drinking a bit earlier. I told her not to!" she added, quickly spreading her wings to follow Wendy.

Elsewhere, Wendy leapt aboard the Fairy Tail ship, moving to the guild cabin, staring at the ground for some time. Only when Xia Lulu greeted her did she follow upstairs to her room.

The next morning.

Clock Tower Square was crowded with people. In front of the Golden Clock Tower, Robin studied its base carefully. The Sandia family and the Clock Tower carried historical significance.

Yet what was recorded on the golden clock's base wasn't what she wanted. Like Alabasta, it referenced a weapon—the Ancient Weapon Poseidon. Robin had no interest in it.

"Hahaha! Historical text banned by the World Government… under the Golden Clock Tower!" Morgans exclaimed.

"I was shocked when I saw it yesterday!" Robin replied perfunctorily.

"In this world, only Miss Robin could decipher it," Morgans sighed. Robin remained silent.

"The Ohara Incident twenty years ago… never mind," Morgans continued tactfully. He, too, was curious about forbidden history and legendary weapons—but after decades at sea, he knew what could and could not be touched. The consequences were deadly.

A faint voice interrupted: "Hey Morgans, interested in historical texts too?"

"Since you're so curious, Robin, you better tell him!" Yuuto said casually. Robin froze, then nodded.

"Alright. This text records…"

"Wait! Wait a moment!" Morgons interrupted, covering his ears. "I don't want to know! Don't mess with me, Chairman Yuuto! I know what can and cannot be reported!"

"Good, you understand," Yuuto nodded.

Morgons shivered but complied. The Sky Island incident, he realized, had to remain secret for now. Otherwise, the temptation of the Golden Bell Tower could draw pirates, bringing catastrophe. Reason outweighed desire.

Morgons conferred with Vin Braun Kulik, Sky Knight Ganfort, and Sandia storytellers. "I don't agree with reporting Sky Island. Leave it as it is!" Braun Kulik insisted. Pirates must not desecrate the island's hard-won peace.

However, the old chief of Sandia and War Ghost Weber disagreed, wanting to protect Nolando's honor. Ganfur added:

"1) The Golden Bell Tower will reappear. 2) Qinghai pirates can't easily reach Sky Island, and we are no lambs to slaughter. We must protect it!"

Hearing this, Morgons laughed with relief. He had worried he couldn't report the story at all.

Yuuto gave no comment. Originally, he only cared about restricting historical text reports. Sky Island itself was out of his jurisdiction—but now, he would act anyway.

A few minutes later, Mirajane delivered Yuuto's orders to Ganfur and the Sandia chief.

"This… is the Fairy Tail symbol!"

They were stunned.

"Hahaha! Thank President Yuuto for lending the flag. With Fairy Tail's protection, ordinary pirates won't dare cause trouble!" Morgons explained.

Ganfur and the chief of Sandia were elated. The celebrations resumed immediately.

Three days later, Yuuto finally escaped the enthusiastic crowds and returned to Fairy Tail's headquarters.

Before he could rest, there was a knock on the door.

Opening it, Baixi Lolita Wendy stepped forward.

"It's time for you to fulfill your promise, President!"
