Chapter 16 - Playing Daddy under the Table

I slipped back into Daniel's room after freshening up, still replaying the way Lila's eyes had sliced into me earlier. I barely had the door shut before blurting, "I'll cover it up. She's suspicious, but I'll handle it. Just let me talk to her..."Daniel was leaning against the dresser, shirt unbuttoned halfway, veins showing on his forearms as he rolled his sleeves. He looked at me like I was already undressed."Handle her?" His mouth quirked up. "Baby, you couldn't even handle me."

I glared. "Daniel, I'm serious."

He pushed off the dresser, closing the space in slow, deliberate steps. The air shifted, heavy, magnetic. His hand came up, brushing a damp strand of hair behind my ear, knuckles dragging along my jaw."In this moment?" His voice dropped low, rough enough to make my stomach flip. "Forget excuses. Listen to your father."

I blinked. "Your what?"

His grin was lethal. "Daddy. Or sugar daddy. Pick whichever makes you wetter." His hand slid down, gripping my hip, thumb pressing into my skin like punctuation. "But you're listening."

Heat shot through me so fast I couldn't breathe. "You're out of your mind.""And you're addicted to it," he murmured, lips grazing my ear. "Admit it you love it when I tell you what to do. You love when I touch you here...." his palm pressed shamelessly between my thighs, making me jolt, "...before breakfast."

A gasp slipped out before I could choke it back. My nails dug into his shirt.

"See?" His chuckle was dark, smug. "That sound? That's my proof."

"Daniel…" I whispered, trying to fight it.

He smirked. "Not my name, baby. Try again."

My lips parted, shame and need tangling, until I finally breathed it: "Daddy."

The way he groaned...raw, guttural...sent shivers down my spine. His mouth crashed onto mine, rough and claiming, his tongue sliding against mine like he wanted to own every part of me. His hand gripped me tighter, dragging me against him, letting me feel just how wrecked he already was.

When he finally pulled back, both of us panting, his forehead pressed to mine. "That's my girl," he whispered, voice wrecked but steady. "Now let me play dad before your roommate starts a war."

I slid into the chair next to him, all fake casual, heart still pounding from him making me whisper daddy.

Daniel cleared his throat, steady. "About this morning, Lila…"

Her eyes flicked up. "Yeah?"

"Maya's been helping me. She's… company. A friend. I've needed someone, and she's been there." His tone was calm, believable, like he hadn't just had his hand between my thighs five minutes ago.

I bit my lip, hiding a grin, and let my foot slide out of my slipper. My toes brushed the edge of his ankle.

Daniel froze for a millisecond....only a millisecond...before continuing like nothing happened. "Nothing complicated."

Lila squinted. "You don't need to justify it. Since Mom left, you've been alone. I know you act fine, but I see it."

My foot traveled up his shin, slow, wicked. His jaw flexed, voice tightening, but he didn't flinch.

"You're saying that because you're grown now," Daniel said smoothly, but his hand under the table gripped his mug too hard. "But I appreciate it. Really."I slid higher, dragging along his thigh this time. He coughed into his fist.

"You okay, Dad?" Lila tilted her head.

"Fine," he rasped, shooting me a deadly side glance that only made me smile wider. My toes pressed into the outline in his sweatpants, and I swear his whole body jolted like I'd shocked him.He cleared his throat again, fighting to keep his composure. "Point is, I'm… happy now. Happier than I've been in a long time." His eyes cut to mine briefly, loaded.

Lila softened a little. "Then that's all that matters."I leaned back, victorious, brushing my foot away, leaving him throbbing and half..broken under the table while he pretended to be calm.

Daniel's smile was calm, but his eyes....those were feral. The second Lila looked back at her phone, his hand slid onto my thigh under the table, gripping hard enough to make me catch my breath.

He leaned in just slightly, voice low so only I could hear. "You think you're slick, baby girl? Keep playing, and I'll bend you over this table before your little roommate even looks up."

My pulse spiked, heat pooling low. And for once, I couldn't decide if it was a threat or a promise for grinding me all over!!!
