Chapter 15 - Shameless

I woke up to heat. Not sunlight. Not the blanket. Him.

Daniel's hand was already under the sheet, roaming like he owned every inch of me...which, if I was being honest, he kinda did. His fingers traced down my hip, sneaky, slow, brushing the inside of my thigh like he was sketching out trouble before breakfast.

"Daniel," I groaned into the pillow, half-asleep,

"Mhm?" His voice was all smug velvet. "You're awake now."

"Because you don't know how to keep your hands to yourself."He kissed my shoulder, his beard scraping just enough to make me shiver. "Not sorry. Never sorry." His hand slid further, and I swore my whole body lit up.I rolled onto my back to glare at him, but the look in his eyes...hungry, forbidden, like I was the only sin he wanted to commit..made me melt on the spot.

"You're charismatic," I whispered.

"And you love it." His smirk was criminal, his thumb brushing lazy circles that made me forget words existed.

Before I could snap back, the door creaked.

"Maya?"

Sh*t. Lila's voice.

Daniel froze, hand still on me, eyes wide. I shoved him off just in time before she poked her head in.

She squinted. "What are you doing in Daddy's room?"My brain raced. Then I shrugged like it was nothing. "I couldn't sleep. He made me tea, we ended up talking, and I guess I crashed here. Chill, it's not that deep."Her eyes narrowed like she didn't fully buy it. Then they dropped, narrowing again.

"Maya, why's your shirt inside out?"

My stomach dropped. F*ck. I hadn't even noticed.

Daniel coughed, like he was choking on his own guilt. I opened my mouth, brain scrambling—then something wild took over me.

"Why are you staring at my shirt, Lila?" I shot back, sitting up, messy hair falling all over my face. "You jealous or just keeping tabs on me?"

Her jaw actually dropped. "Excuse me?"

"You heard me." I tilted my head, bold as hell. "You've been watching me like a hawk lately. Kinda creepy, not gonna lie."Daniel's hand gripped the sheet, like he was trying not to laugh , His eyes burned into me, half terrified, half turned on by how I'd just flipped the whole thing.Lila stammered, "I was just… noticing—"

"Noticing what? That I look good in the morning? Thanks, babe, I know." I tossed my hair back and smirked, daring her to push.Daniel coughed again, this time into his fist, but his eyes caught mine for a second...dark, glowing. He was eating this up. My boldness, my shamelessness.

Lila went red, mumbled something about breakfast, and stormed out.

But then she stopped.

Her eyes flicked to the dresser. Sitting there, clear as day, was Maya's lip gloss....pink cap, shiny as hell.

Her lips parted slowly. "That's… not yours, Daddy."

The room froze.

Daniel's smirk dropped. My stomach sank.

Lila turned back to us, eyebrows raised, voice steady this time...way too steady.

"So whose is it?"

Silence.

The door clicked shut behind her, leaving a storm in her wake.

And just like that, everything wasn't just shameless anymore. It was risky as hell & damm dangerous.
