Chapter 1 - Part 1 : The world that made bansi

Ahemdabad - India

"Bunnyy, we're lateee!" she screamed, waking up and running toward the restroom.

Nisha was the only one who called her Bunny — a nickname that had somehow stuck since school days.

"Why didn't you wake me up when you were already up?"

Bansi giggled, still half-focused on her book.

"I tried to wake you so many times, but you just said, 'Give me five more minutes!'

What was I supposed to do?"

Nisha ran to the restroom and got ready, while Bansi prepared her things for the exam.

After some time, they reached college, walking quickly toward their class.

"Don't you think this exam is going to be hell difficult?" Nisha asked, her voice slightly nervous.

Bansi sighed but smiled. "Don't worry. Just take a deep breath and let's go — we're already late."

After the exam, a friend walked up to them, grinning.

"Bunny, Nisha! What's the plan? We just finished our last exam — it's time to celebrate!"

Nisha turned to Bansi, making a dramatic face as if trying to convince her silently.

Bansi couldn't help but smile. "Okay, fine. But we're only going to the nearby café."

"Perfect! Let me ask everyone else to join!" the friend said excitedly before running off.

They all went to the café, enjoyed pizza, and celebrated together. Laughter filled the air as they talked about how stressful the exams had been.

After a while, everyone started heading home.

Nisha and Bansi walked toward Nisha's house, still chatting. On the way, Nisha tried to convince her

"Stay at my place tonight! Exams are finally over, and we can watch our favorite movie — a proper sleepover!"

Bansi chuckled and said dramatically,

"I think I should go to your home today because I'm pretty sure there are guests at mine."

Both of them burst out laughing.

The evening breeze carried their laughter down the quiet street — carefree, like two souls enjoying a moment before life got serious again.

They reached Nisha's home, where her uncle's children were playing in the garden. The moment the kids saw them, they ran over and hugged them tightly.

"Bansi, are you staying today or not?" Nisha's little cousin asked eagerly.

Nisha and Bansi smiled slightly, and Bansi said teasingly, "I think I'm not going to stay today. You and Prem (nisha's second cousin) didn't even play with me at all!"

The kids laughed, and the four of them played around while walking toward the house. When they finally reached their floor and opened the door, they saw guests sitting in the living room.

"I guess we chose the wrong place for a sleepover," Nisha whispered, and Bansi just looked at her and smiled.

Nisha's mom and grandma waved them over warmly. "Come, sit with us!"

They joined them and started a light conversation, the house filled with soft laughter and familiar warmth.

Conversation slowly shifted toward marriage and love. They talked about how kids nowadays didn't seem interested in marriage, wanting to live life their own way.

Nisha's grandmother spoke dramatically, "See, Bansi also doesn't want to marry! And whenever we talk about it, she just says she doesn't want to discuss such things."

Nisha looked at Bansi with a little tension, and Bansi smiled sadly. After a while, the guests left, and Nisha and Bansi went to Nisha's room.

"Sorry, Bunny… my grandma just said things. She doesn't even know if she should have said them," Nisha said in a sad tone.

"It's okay, Nishu. We're close, and your family is like mine. They're just worried about me like they are for you — it's actually a good thing," Bansi said gently, holding Nisha's hand.

Nisha shook her head and laughed softly. "You always know how to take things positively and change the topic, huh?"

Bansi pouted playfully. "Yeah, I'm really positive and chill — you're lucky to have me."

"And look at you — you don't even know how to cook, how to take care of yourself, and you always need someone for every little decision! In every move, you should try to solve your problems on your own, and some of your life decisions should be made by yourself. And yet, you expect your husband to be a good cook and handsome like your favorite actors!" Bansi teased, grinning.

"You know… he should be tall, have a good physique, be nice at cooking, and I can just be with him as I am — no need to change, no filters. Just be together, support each other," Nisha said softly.

"Promise me that when you find this type of guy, you won't forget to always love yourself, be there for yourself, and try to solve your problems on your own. Even if he's a good cook, you have to at least learn the basics to help him, okay?"

They both laughed so loudly and then started watching their movie. After a while, they lay on the bed — Bansi scrolling through reels on her phone, while Nisha seemed lost in thought.

"What are you thinking, troublemaker?" Bansi asked, putting her phone down.

"Promise me you'll answer honestly," Nisha said in a serious tone.

"Okay… tell me, what's this new thing cooking in your mind?" Bansi teased.

"What's your type, Bunny? We've been friends for five years, and I've never seen you interested in any boy. If someone liked you, you just rejected them, and whenever someone tried to get close, you put up boundaries.

What if your destined partner is already decided? What if you meet him? What if someone makes you believe in love? What if he waits for you, just like you want?" Nisha asked in a rush, all questions tumbling out in excitement.

Bansi burst into laughter. Nisha made a dramatically sad face. "I don't want to talk to you anymore!"

she exclaimed, standing up and walking to the balcony.

"Nishaa! Nishaa! Nishaa!" Bansi called, following her.

Nisha sat on the swing chair, sulking. Bansi stood nearby, leaning casually on the balcony railing.

"Fine, listen," Bansi said with a soft chuckle.

"Okay, I'm ready," Nisha said with an instant smile.

"I just don't want to hold anyone," Bansi admitted.

"What?" Nisha asked, slightly shocked.

"Yeah… I don't really believe in love, and I don't know when I'll be ready to open my heart for someone. If someone likes me, I can't tell them to wait — and even if they do, what if I still can't believe in love? I don't want to waste anyone's time. Your grandma is right — nowadays, everyone rushes into relationships, gets dumped, moves on. I've rejected so many boys. Some really liked me, did everything for me, but I explained I couldn't be with anyone. Eventually, they got committed to others. That's not love — that's just attraction. And I don't want to waste my time on that," Bansi said, sipping her coffee, while Nisha listened thoughtfully.

"So… what if your parents also pressure you about marriage or finding a boyfriend?" Nisha asked, standing beside her.

Bansi laughed lightly. "Given the situation I'm in, it's their gift — they have no right to question me about love. Everything about how I approach love comes from my childhood, my trauma, and the lessons I've learned. And about a destined partner… even if someone waits for me, I'll probably explain it to him the same way I explain it to everyone and let him go. Honestly, I don't believe in fate or destiny."

"But what if… you already rejected your destined partner, Bunnyyy? What if he's already in your life, and you kicked him out?" Nisha said dramatically, her expression mixed.

Bansi laughed loudly. "Let's go to sleep now, it's already midnight" she said, dragging Nisha gently back to the room.

A/N:

So that's how Bansi's world looks — full of warmth, love, and a little pain she hides behind her calm smile.

But let's just hope Arin is a calm and patient person...

But don't forget who's the author — she loves chaos. 😌🔥
