Chapter 4 - Rising of the Betrayed Weakest Player

Chapter 4 – Awakening of the Strongest

The dungeon fell silent.

Then—

> [System Notification]

Requirement: Successful.

Host awakening condition has been met.

Host will now… awaken.

The words carved themselves into his mind like burning chains.

A crimson light burst forth, flooding the dungeon in a sinister glow. The wolves shrieked and stumbled back, clawing at their eyes, their snarls drowned out by the oppressive silence that followed.

Sam, who just moments ago lay broken and helpless, slowly rose to his feet. His body was unscathed. His breath came steady. His eyes—once filled with despair—now burned with an abyssal gleam.

The wolves froze. Their instincts screamed.

Sam's aura swelled, suffocating, like death itself had taken form.

> [System Notification]

Requirement: Successful.

Host awakening condition has been met.

Host will now fully awaken.

Sam blinked in shock.

"What…? What's happening to me…?"

Another chime rang.

---

> [System Window]

Host's profession requirement has been met.

Profession: Necromancer.

---

His lips trembled.

"N… Necromancer…?"

Another notification followed, relentless.

---

> [System Window]

Necromancer – A forbidden class that defies death itself.

Wielders of this power can command the dead, bending fallen monsters into loyal servants for eternity.

Unlike ordinary professions, the Necromancer is a hybrid. A hybrid of destruction:

– The strength of a warrior.

– The speed of an assassin.

– The forbidden magic of a sorcerer.

---

A Necromancer's will commands corpses, binding them to eternal servitude?!?

Sam's eyes widened. His chest heaved as laughter threatened to break from his throat.

A class that has everything…?

No. A class that brings despair.

The wolves whimpered, their bodies trembling.

But the system wasn't finished.

---

Then another notification appeared.

---

> [System Window]

After incomplete awakening, host has slain 167,582,232 monsters.

---

Sam's jaw tightened. His fingers curled into fists, nails drawing blood.

Those… kills… my party's kills… they counted for me?

The next words crashed down like divine judgment.

---

Then another notification appeared.

Sam's breath stopped. His vision blurred with rage and ecstasy.

Sam's head tilted downward, shadow covering his expression.

Images stabbed into his mind—his family turning their backs, his comrades mocking him, Mary's cold betrayal.

He began to laugh. Soft at first. Broken. Then louder. Louder.

"...heheheh… HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

His laughter split the dungeon air, jagged and monstrous. The wolves whimpered, their bodies shaking violently. The guards outside shivered, though they didn't know why.

Sam raised his head. His eyes glowed with blood-red light, burning with hatred, madness, and something far worse.

"I wasn't weak." His voice echoed, venomous.

"You were blind."

The crimson aura coiled around him like writhing serpents, devouring the dungeon in shadows.

Sam Zidgerart—the useless, the abandoned—no longer existed.

In his place stood something the world should never have allowed to awaken.
