When the words left my mouth in Lyra's room, Lucian and Selene stared at me with worry thickening the air, I knew there was no more time to waste. I told them everything I had learned from Howard, but they needed the rest. The part only he could tell in full. The darkest part. The part that would decide Lyra's fate, my fate, and the fate of everyone standing in that room.
And the place he chose for the meeting was not by accident.
He said, "Bring them to the Chamber of Midnight Flames. Tonight, when the moon sits directly above the old cathedral ruins."
That was a location only the most ancient of vampires knew. It was a hidden sanctuary beneath the abandoned cathedral at the edge of the vampire realm. A place untouched by sun or prayer. A place where old pacts were written in blood and where secrets that could destroy kingdoms were whispered into the stone.
