Chapter 11: "An unexpected encounter"
Tris signaled the waitress and instructed her about their food, which she replied would be ready in five minutes. Immediately after the waitress left, Nell caught a glimpse of the entrance and turned to watch as three figures appeared.
Time seemed to stand still, like in the movies, where the world pauses for a dramatic reveal. The air was thick with anticipation, and the sounds of the canteen faded into the background. The only thing that seemed to move was Nell's gaze, which was fixed on the three girls.
The girl in the middle was the most beautiful, thanks to her imposing manner. She was the tallest, too, with a height of about 3.8 meters. Her porcelain-white skin glowed against the vibrant blue of her bodycon dress, which hugged her curves in all the right places. Black heels elevated her statuesque figure, making her seem almost otherworldly. A sleek, brown bun adorned her crown, with two loose strands framing her heart-shaped face. Her small, bright blue eyes sparkled like sapphires, and her plump lips were painted a deep, crimson red. Visible dimples added a touch of whimsy to her otherwise regal features.
For a moment, Nell thought she saw her older self in her. The resemblance was uncanny, but Nell quickly shook off the feeling.
The other two girls were also attractive. The one on the right side had fair skin, long jet-black hair, and brown eyes with thin lips. The other girl on the left had dyed pink hair that cascaded down her back like a fiery waterfall, fair skin, green eyes, and small lips. They both wore black tank tops and tight pants with black heels, giving off a tough, edgy vibe.
Nell chuckled at the thought of them being guards, but quickly looked away when the tall girl looked her way. Realizing it was the rude girl from earlier, "Mel," Nell's heart skipped a beat.
She heard footsteps approaching and Tris cursed when they stood right in front of their table.
"You're on our table," the pink-haired girl flared, her voice sharp as a razor.
Nell turned to watch their direction, her heart racing with anticipation. Her eyes met Mel's gaze, and she felt a jolt of electricity run through her body. The resemblance was too much, especially those brown hair. The difference was that Nell had a pointed nose, her eyes were a little bigger and brown eyes, and she was fairer than Mel.
Maybe that was her long-lost sister who was kidnapped when she was little, Nell thought, chuckling at her wild idea.
Nell immediately looked aside when she saw Tris stand up, her heart pounding in her chest.
