Chapter 14: "The Unexpected Encounter"

Hearing the voice, Nell turned and saw Melanie and Lisa supporting Sofia, who looked frightened and shaken. She turned to the owner of the voice, whose broad back faced her. As if sensing her gaze, he turned to face her.

Her heart skipped a beat as their eyes met. Nel quickly extracted herself from Triss's arm, not wanting him to sense anything. He was beautiful, or rather, handsome – a thought that caught Nel off guard. His fair, almost pale skin contrasted with his striking grey eyes, which seemed to bore into her soul. Those eyes were deep, where you could get lost if you stared long enough. True, she was lost, Nell thought, still entranced.

His chiseled eyebrows were slightly angled, adding to his rugged charm. His sharp nose and sexy thin lips only added to his allure. Her gaze lingered on his lips before moving to his outfit. He wore a crisp white shirt with rolled-up sleeves, dark grey slim-fit jeans, and scuffed black Converse shoes, exuding a relaxed university vibe.

"Next time, don't just run into a fight. Something worse than this could happen," he warned, his voice interrupting her thoughts. Nell nodded, unsure how to respond. His gaze lingered on her before shifting to Tris. "Send her to the infirmary," he instructed coldly.

Nell wanted to thank him, but the words caught in her throat. As he turned to leave, Mel called out, "Leo." Nell guessed that was his name, but he didn't respond, instead turning back to her briefly before departing. Mel's face fell, and Nell felt a flicker of satisfaction.

"Let's go before it swells," Tris said, concern etched in his voice. "Package it for us," Gabby called out from behind. Nell smiled, thinking she'd have to thank Gabby later for saving her lunch
