Chapter 15: "Unaware"
It was Saturday, admission day for students, and the campus was buzzing. Yet, he didn't mind the commotion as he sat at his study table, his cold, serious face a picture of focus. His intense gaze could mesmerize anyone who stared too long. Feeling thirsty, he headed to the kitchen to grab a bottle of water from the refrigerator. He gulped it down in one go and tossed the empty bottle into the trash before returning to his room.
As he glanced out the window, he noticed movement in his sister's room across the way. The boys' hostel mirrored the girls', with a kitchen and ensuite in each room. Three beds and study tables filled each room, and his bed had a window above it. His friends Ivan and Gael occupied the other two beds, opposite and beside his.
He had chosen this room on the last floor himself when he first arrived, assigning his sisters to the same floor so he could keep an eye on them. He gazed at the room opposite his for a moment, noticing nothing out of the ordinary, before sitting down. Unbeknownst to him, a girl stood there when he turned.
