Chapter 24 - Trouble Arrives! So You’re the One Who Rejected Su Qimeng? (3/5)

Of course, Chen Yang had no idea what Liu Yueyao was speculating about.

As far as he was concerned…

He disliked trouble, so simply saying he was "selling for a friend" was enough.

Before long, Hong Wuliang summoned a few equipment appraisers to handle the pricing.

While they worked, Chen Yang strolled casually around the mall. After about half an hour, the results came back.

Total: 6.797 million magic crystals!

That number was even higher than Chen Yang's own estimate…

likely thanks to the extra 10% Hong Wuliang had promised.

Naturally, Chen Yang didn't refuse.

Since they'd be working together long-term, he simply accepted the figure.

"Sort the items, label the prices, and put them in the first-floor newbie section."

Looking at the mountain of gear and skill books, Hong Wuliang was beaming.

What sold best in his mall?

Without a doubt—

low-level equipment with actual rarity and quality.

Plain whiteboard gear could be farmed by anyone, and was almost impossible to sell.

But even Bronze-grade gear had a thriving market.

Why?

Because many Job Changers with poor talent couldn't farm it themselves. They could only grind Iron dungeons, stockpiling enough Exorcism Points and money to buy Bronze gear, which then let them step up into Bronze dungeons.

The same logic applied to Silver and Gold, though the prices skyrocketed—several times, even dozens of times higher.

A single sub-level 10 Gold piece…

as long as it wasn't trash, could fetch 30,000–40,000 at minimum!

"Little brother Chen, let's add each other as friends. Whenever you've got stock, contact me directly, haha!"

Hong Wuliang laughed heartily.

"Sure."

Chen Yang nodded, adding him on his phone.

"Well then, Teacher Liu, Boss Hong—you two talk. I'll head out first."

He could tell they had business to discuss, probably dungeon strategy or something similar…

and he had no interest in that.

"Bye-bye."

Liu Yueyao gave him a wave, smiling.

"If you run into any problems, you can always come to me~"

"Alright."

Chen Yang nodded and walked off.

As they watched his departing figure—

Hong Wuliang said meaningfully,

"That young man… is no ordinary student. He must be connected to someone extraordinary."

Indeed.

The rumor had already spread today—

First High School had produced a suspected SSS-rank super-genius, someone who could stealth-solo Bronze and even Silver dungeons.

Both Liu Yueyao and Hong Wuliang had heard it.

But neither connected it to Chen Yang.

Why?

Because even if that prodigy had soloed several dungeons today, there was no way he'd have produced this volume of loot!

And low-level Gold gear wasn't exactly common.

In fact, for the past two days, none of the low-level secret zones around Zhongnan City had refreshed a Gold dungeon.

Which meant—

These Gold items couldn't have been locally sourced.

Soon, Chen Yang stepped out the doors of Hongwu Market.

Nobody could have guessed—

he had walked in a broken nobody, and walked out with nearly 7 million magic crystals.

"Maybe it's time to consider buying a bigger place…"

"Otherwise, with more and more summoned girls, one bed isn't going to cut it."

He thought to himself.

In this era, the population wasn't much smaller than the world he came from.

Though the danger level had skyrocketed, high-level Job Changers also lived much longer.

On the whole, the global population was still in the tens of billions.

Which meant…

housing was just as expensive.

The nearly 7 million he had now looked impressive, but it wasn't enough for a high-end villa.

Chen Yang mulled over whether to wait or just buy something now.

Then suddenly—

"Stop right there. You—yeah, you!"

"You're Chen Yang, aren't you?"

A lazy, cocky voice rang out ahead.

Chen Yang lifted his head.

A group of four Job Changers were approaching, led by a youth in lavish mage's robes, holding a staff, his expression arrogant and condescending.

"?"

Chen Yang blinked, puzzled.

Who the hell was this guy?

"I heard today… you're the one who rejected Su Qimeng?"

The mage youth stared coldly at him.

"So what if I did? What's it to you?"

Chen Yang gave him a casual glance.

"You really don't know who I am?"

The youth frowned.

"Why should I know you?"

Chen Yang looked even more bemused.

Still—

He realized it at last.

He'd been smooth sailing since awakening, but of course trouble was bound to come knocking eventually.

Not that he felt even remotely threatened.

He didn't know what this group wanted—

but he had already opened his God-tier Aura list!

After all—

He had plenty of weird Auras he hadn't tested yet.

And now that someone has volunteered to play target…

Chen Yang didn't mind experimenting a little.

This could be fun.
