Chapter 10: "Celebration of love 1"

River rushed out of her room, eager to share the exciting news with her mom. As she headed to the living room, she heard the clattering of pots and pans coming from the kitchen. She frowned, knowing she'd find her mom preparing dinner.

As she entered the kitchen, she found her mom trying to cook despite her obvious fatigue. River quickly rushed to her side. "Mom, stop! You're not feeling well," she said, gently taking the cooking utensils from her mom's hands.

Her mom, Andrea Benard, smiled weakly. "It's a happy day, darling, I have to celebrate your success," she said, her eyes sparkling with joy.

River's eyes widened in curiosity. "How did you know I got accepted?" she asked.

Her mom chuckled. "I heard you shout, and when I came to see what was wrong, I overheard you talking on the phone. Congratulations, sweetie! I'm so proud of you."

River smiled, feeling grateful for her mom's support. "Let me help you, Mom. You know I can't stress you out," she said, taking over the cooking duties.

Her mom's face lit up with love. "You're such a darling daughter. I'm so lucky to have you."

Just then, River's dad walked into the kitchen, holding a basket of fresh vegetables from his farm. He was a young-looking man despite his 40 years, with a chiseled jawline and piercing eyes that seemed to sparkle with mischief. His dark hair was flecked with hints of gray, adding a distinguished touch to his rugged good looks. He wore a simple white shirt and faded jeans, but he carried himself with a quiet confidence that commanded attention. Even women would try throwing themselves at him, but he was oblivious to their charms, his heart belonging solely to his wife and daughter.

As he entered the kitchen, he placed the basket on the counter and headed to the sink to wash his hands. River's mom couldn't help but smile at her husband's rugged charm.

"Hey, what's all the commotion about?" he asked, his deep voice rumbling through the kitchen.

Her mom gestured to River, who was now busy chopping vegetables. "Guess what, dear? River got accepted into Apexor Tech!" she exclaimed.

River's dad's face lit up with joy, and he strode over to hug his daughter tightly. "Congratulations, sweetie! I'm beyond proud of you!"

As they hugged, River's mom sat down on the stool, looking relieved. River's dad noticed and smiled, "You sit down, dear. River and I will take care of dinner."
