Crowd of young people were waiting on a big stone platform
Their eyes were full of excitement but also fear
They were breathing silently
nobody was talking
the atmosphere was so tense that you could cut it with a knife
Today was the day of Naming
All people who are fifteen years old must participate in this event
This event is awaited by all people but also greatly feared
Those who do well will be bestoved with great power and authority but also with a new way of life that isn't very safe
Planet REN is home not only for humans but also monsters
Ugly and horrifying monsters
Mundane weapons mean no harm for them
But you can fight with them in different ways
Long time ago when humanity was on a brink of extinction
Something incredible happened
Spirits-an mysterious spiece granted humans extraordinary powers
This is how the first Awakeners were born
This way humans were able to fight with monsters
Today the Naming ceremony was being held by great clan of Azure Dragon
Today teens were supposed to be granted their True Souls
The powers which were supposed to be a reflection of their souls
'Ah what a bother'
Today our main protagonist will receive his True Soul
'I'll probably get the power to enamor all the beatifull ladies'
Klein grinned in the direction of few young girls
Their faces showed disgust
'Well that would be useless because I already have that power'
Our incredibly humble protagonist just turned fifteen and was about to be granted his True Soul
Klein after death of his mother became an outcast even among outskirt's kids
It was caused by his disease
It wasn't anything serious it just made him smile when he was feeling emotions that were the opposite of happiness
But you can imagine just how creepy it would've look if you saw a child smiling from ear to ear laying in the puddle of blood
"Klein Goldenbird it's time for you to enter a Spirit Zone!!!"
Klein jumped on platform and approached a glowing orb
For human to be granted a true name one must first turn fifteen and then enter a Spirit Zone
In the Spirit Zone on must confront a Spirit and then participate in trial
Power will be granted depending on how the Spirit perceived you in this trial
Many people get useless powers because they couldn't or were to scared to battle even the weakest monster
To get very strong power or at least survive one don't have to win a fight but at least try to but Spirits very rarely interrupt trial and generally just watch as contestant is getting devoured by abominations
Powers are born from the deepest parts of human soul
they are kind of reflections of what one truly is
Rich kids have it easier because if one is son of a powerfull awakened he can firstly talk with a spirit and then participate in a trial getting powers worthy of a heir of a powerfull clan

The poor must just fight for survival
And Klein is one of those poor
'Well so this is my end'
Klein as an outskirt kid couldn't for the help of instructors to help him learn how to fight
The only thing that he could do in this situation was to hope that Spirit will be satisfied with his attempt and interrupt the trial rewarding him for his bravery or stupidity
The line between those two is very thin
'No I can't be pleased with just surviving.What's the difference if I die now or next week getting shot for getting in the way of some wealthy master or some other bullshit'
"Please put your hand on the orb"
Instructor sayed with impatience
'Sorry I can't tell which one is the orb and which one is your bald head'
Klein grinned thinking that
He didn't have much time to enjoy this thought

For a while there was just silence but then a mysterious voice spoke
"So you are the next contestant"
Klein turned back and what he saw was something that cannot be expressed in a few words
The spirit had two... six and sometimes only one arm
It was like the pure sight of him didn't make sense
The Spirit looked at Klein with his eye or eyes...
"So you come here seeking to learn what you trully are"
In that moment Klein's mind crossed idea that he would never dare to tell before The Spirit
"No I'm here to f*ck your mother"
"Wait... What I didn't intend to say that out loud!?"
The Spirit hearing that laughed loudly
"Young man we are in the Spirit Zone, only the true intentions can exist here.That means that you either really wanted to tell this joke or you want to make out with my mother"
Klein blushed from shame
"Well either way do you wish to explain to me why you would be worthy some amazing powers or you want to prove me this right now?"
Klein sighed
"Well I'm a commoner so the first option is out for me, but could I ask a question in return?"
"You've already did that"
Klein had to thought about it a little but then understood
"That joke was lame"
"I've just stated a fact and regarding your true question you may ask one"
Klein was thinking for a while and then asked
"Why does the heirs of a powerfull clans get power better than some commoners despite the fact that they sometimes are less brave or their character isn't the definition of chivalry?"
The Spirit did something that looked like a sight and spoken
"Who said that they have powerfull True Souls because they are chivalrous they can have it because they are smart cunning or treacheous"
"If that'so why we must participate in a trial and not just get our True Soul right away."

A hound like creature suddenly apperead before Klein
"Good... Now be ready to see what I truly am"
