"Ding ling, ding ling." Frank pushed the door open and entered, looking at Ollivander standing before him: "Hello, I'm here to buy a wand." His inner voice overlapped with Ollivander's: "The wand chooses the wizard."
Ollivander waved his wand, and a tape measure on the table flew over. It automatically began measuring Frank's height, arm length, and even the length of his nostrils.
"Which hand do you favor?" Ollivander asked loudly while turning around to select wands from the back.
"I can use both hands, but I prefer my right hand."
Perhaps it was the regret of not being able to use his right hand in his previous life, Frank preferred to do things with his right hand in this life. But his left hand was still quite handy.
"Since I can use both hands, can I buy two wands and use them together?" Frank asked loudly in reply.
"Of course you can, but I wouldn't recommend it."
Ollivander, though old, was still quite agile. In the time it took to say those few sentences, he had already brought over a pile of wands: "You can certainly use two, but what will you do normally? Cast spells with both hands simultaneously? Then which incantation do you say with your mouth?
You know, saying the wrong incantation can have serious consequences."
Frank nodded: "Okay, I understand. Also, I wanted to ask. Does the wand selection have anything to do with the size of my nostrils?"
Ollivander looked at Frank; even the most eccentric children had never asked him this question. "Of course, people grow taller, arms get longer, weight increases.
Only the size of the nostrils doesn't change much. This allows for relatively stable data recording. Also, it's mainly to measure your breath.
This helps in better selecting a wand. A person's breath is very difficult to change. Try this one."
Ollivander handed over a wand: "Cherry wood, unicorn hair. You can give it a wave." Frank had just raised it when Ollivander snatched it away: "Not this one. Try this, pine wood, thunderbird tail feather."
Frank waved it, and a shelf fell to the floor. "No good either. Then this one? Or this? Black alder, black poplar, holly, rosewood? None suitable."
Frank tried them one by one. The shop was already a complete mess, with no place to step.
Ollivander looked at the wands in the shop and muttered to himself: "It shouldn't be. How can there be a wand not suitable from my entire collection?"
He took the tape measure again and personally measured Frank's arm length and height. After looking Frank up and down, he suddenly clapped his hands: "Got it, there's one more wand."
He turned around to get it but found no path to walk through the shop. He waved his wand, making the wands automatically return to their places. As he waved, he said, "Although I'm reluctant to admit it, young man, you are special, very special. I have one wand here. It was left by my ancestors. The Ollivander family started making wands with this one."
He walked deep into the shop, so deep that sunlight could no longer reach. His voice came from afar: "My ancestors originally couldn't make fine wands, only some inferior products.
Although in those days, even inferior products were something many wizards couldn't make. But this wand, it was starting from this wand that the family learned how to make fine wands from it."
Ollivander walked up to Frank with the wand: "This wand carries the history of the family, witnessing its ups and downs. You try this one."
The moment Frank took the wand, he felt the star chart in his mind begin to shine.
Under the sunlight from the window, shadows of all the Clow Star Cards seemed to appear on the ground. He felt the power of Light and Dark growing within him. Without even waving it, Frank already knew. This was his destined wand.
Ollivander let out a soft sigh: "This wand is made of Starlight Wood. What the feather core is, I still don't know to this day.
I sometimes even feel the core is alive; it can beat like a heart. Maybe only old... Haha. Nothing, maybe I'm just old and mistaken.
It's fourteen inches long, pale red shaft, with the sun, moon, and stars seemingly carved on it. Red is a person's whole life, from birth to death, one cannot escape red.
I think you will have a great career in the future. I just hope you can.... If you have the chance in the future, tell me what the core material is. Or tell me at my graveside."
Frank examined the wand carefully: This is the merchandise I bought in my previous life. The sun, moon, and stars probably refer to Clow Reed and Sakura.
Then the core... is it the Elder Wand? I did buy Elder Wand merchandise back then. But a wand wrapped around a wand... probably impossible.
Frank raised the wand: "I will definitely learn alchemy in the future. Aren't you afraid I'll research this wand thoroughly and compete with you?"
Ollivander smiled: "There have been masters in history who made better wands than my family, but now, I am the best in Britain, even Europe.
Ollivander has never been afraid of competition. Only rivals can make Ollivander advance further. Also, the cost is seventy-seven Galleons."
"So expensive?"
"Of course, although it's seven Galleons for other young wizards, that's with a subsidy from the Ministry of Magic. Yours doesn't have that."
"Fine, please give me the wand maintenance materials as well. Here is a Gringotts cheque."
Frank took out a cheque and handed it to Ollivander: "I've troubled you today. Goodbye."
Frank pushed the door and left, the bell ringing again as the door moved.
Frank looked back and saw Ollivander standing in the shop. The sunlight through the window illuminated half of his face and body. Behind him were rows of shelves that seemed to stretch on forever.
Ollivander watched Frank, seeming to want to say something, but he opened his mouth and didn't know what to say, finally just saying faintly, "Goodbye."
Frank closed the door, as if entering another world. Diagon Alley was bustling with people, but not a bit of noise penetrated this simple wooden door. The two worlds of quiet and热闹 seemed separated by just a single door.
Professor McGonagall said to the two beside her, "Now that everything is bought, I'll see you out."
Frank asked, "Professor McGonagall, my parents are waiting outside. They can't come in. Could I buy some magical world snacks for them to try?"
Hermione also nodded beside him: "It's their first time here. I'd like to buy some for them too."
"Alright then. I have matters to attend to and won't wait for you. See that shop over there, Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour. You can buy there, then leave through the Leaky Cauldron. Remember. You are not to go anywhere else."
"Okay, Professor McGonagall." Frank and Hermione bought some ice cream at Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour and hurried out.
Their parents were waiting for them outside. The two families waved goodbye.
Frank said to Hermione, "There are still a few days before school starts. Are you planning to study in advance at home?"
"I will memorize all the textbooks."
"Great, let's study together then. Since you didn't buy an owl, if there's anything we don't understand, we can ask Professor McGonagall together."
"Okay, we can communicate by phone."
The two families parted ways as the sun began to set. Tomorrow is another new day.
