Chapter 8 - Academy – I

A/N: I don't want to bore my dear readers with immature kid's fights using their clan name, I am a good Author.

Yagami was patient, methodical, and steadfast in his support for Itachi, waiting for the day Itachi would graduate and take the next step in his journey.

During Academy hours, Yagami and Itachi allowed their shadow clone to absorb the lectures, while he dedicated himself to helping Itachi hone his skills.

The two spent countless hours at the Uchiha training ground, immersed in relentless sparring sessions. Yagami focused on Taijutsu, Ninjutsu, Kenjutsu, and Shurikenjutsu, ensuring that every facet of Itachi's abilities was polished to perfection. Despite his immense skill, Yagami consciously held back his Sharingan during their matches, recognizing that Itachi had yet to awaken his own.

Their battles were often intense, yet respectful. Itachi rarely emerged victorious, but Yagami's teaching style ensured that each loss became a lesson. Itachi absorbed knowledge with remarkable speed, refining his techniques and sharpening his instincts.

To Itachi, Yagami was more than a friend—he was like a blood brother, someone who understood him deeply and shared an unbreakable bond of kinship. This relationship rivaled even the bond Itachi would later have with his younger brother, Sasuke. Having spent most of his formative years with Yagami, Itachi grew attached to him in a way that shaped his worldview and personal development.

Yagami, in turn, saw Itachi as a younger sibling, pouring his time and energy into shaping him into a capable and resilient shinobi. Every sparring session, every lecture on the clan's history, and every moment spent training together strengthened the bond between them. Yagami wasn't just preparing Itachi for graduation; he was preparing him for the challenges that lay ahead as both an Uchiha and a future leader.

Time passed, and the disparity between Yagami, Itachi, and the other students in the academy became glaringly obvious. The teachers soon realized that keeping Yagami and Itachi in the same class as the other students was akin to hiding tigers in a sheep farm.

If this continues, other students will get depression seeing the overwhelming difference and eventually lose the path of being a Shinobi

Yagami's shadow clone frequently amused himself by bullying teachers with Genjutsu, rarely even needing the Sharingan to do so. Despite this, his academic performance was flawless. When the monthly results were announced, Yagami secured the first rank in the entire academy. What shocked everyone was the sheer depth of his written work, particularly on chakra theory and the Will of Fire, showcasing knowledge far beyond his years—comparable to Chunin or even Jonin-level understanding.

The teachers, humbled and ashamed at their inability to challenge Yagami, rushed to the Hokage's office to seek guidance.

In the Hokage's office, the elder council was in session. Hiruzen Sarutobi, Danzo Shimura, and two other elders sat around a long table, discussing border security and mission allocations. Their meeting was briefly interrupted to hear the teachers' concerns.

Hiruzen glanced up. "Give me the ranking sheet."

The teacher handed it over, and the top three names stood out:

Uchiha Yagami

Uchiha Itachi

Aburame Shiro

Hiruzen smiled. "Impressive. Do you need any support?"

One of the Chunin instructors, Daisuke, stepped forward. "Hokage-sama, we humbly request you to review Uchiha Yagami's written work. It is extraordinary."

Hiruzen began with Yagami's essay on the Will of Fire:

Yagami's Note on the Will of Fire:

"The Will of Fire is the spirit that breathes life into the people of Konoha, a flame first kindled by the First Hokage, Senju Hashirama. It is more than just a philosophy; it is the bond that ties every shinobi, civilian, and clan together, transcending bloodlines, status, and power.

The Will of Fire embodies the belief that love and loyalty to the village are stronger than hatred and division. It is the resolve to protect the next generation, to nurture them like a parent protecting a child, even if it costs one's own life.

This spirit is what unites us in the face of adversity, what allows us to stand tall even when the odds are overwhelming. It teaches us that true strength lies not in individual power, but in the collective bond of our people. To carry the Will of Fire is to carry the burden of the village's future while never losing hope in its potential.

It is not just a torch passed down through generations—it is a promise: a promise to honor the sacrifices of those who came before us, a promise to protect those who come after, and a promise to ensure that Konoha's light never fades, even in the darkest of times.

This is the essence of being a shinobi of the Leaf. To embody the Will of Fire is to become a part of something eternal, something far greater than oneself. I, too, will dedicate my life to this unyielding flame, for it is within the Will of Fire that Konoha's heart truly beats."

Hiruzen set the paper down and chuckled. "Ha, Shisui trained his brother very well. I want him in the Hokage faction immediately."

Danzo frowned slightly. "Don't be so hasty, Hiruzen."

Daisuke interjected. "Hokage-sama, please take a look at his notes on chakra theory, this is certainly Jonin level of understanding."

Hiruzen nodded and began reading Yagami's meticulously crafted work on the fundamentals of chakra:

The Formation of Chakra:

Chakra is the synergistic union of two core energies within all living beings:

Physical Energy: Derived from cellular activity, stamina, and the body's life force. Enhanced through training, vitality, and endurance.

Spiritual Energy: Originates from the mind and consciousness, strengthened by introspection, wisdom, and accumulated experience.

The fusion of these energies occurs within a shinobi's inner chakra core, where they are converted into a manipulable force. This energy flows through an intricate system of chakra pathways, akin to a circulatory system, fueling all forms of ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu.

Categories of Chakra:

Chakra manifests in various types, each with distinct applications:

Neutral Chakra: The foundation, unaligned and used in basic techniques.

Elemental Chakra Natures: Five primary elements forming the backbone of advanced techniques:

Fire (Katon)

Water (Suiton)

Earth (Doton)

Wind (Fūton)

Lightning (Raiton)

Shinobi with profound mastery can combine these elements, unlocking advanced natures such as Wood Style (Mokuton) of the First Hokage or Lava Style (Yōton) of Roshi from Iwagakure.

Specialized Chakra Types:

Yin Chakra: Dominated by spiritual energy, utilized in techniques requiring imagination, illusions (Genjutsu), and mental constructs.

Yang Chakra: Governed by physical energy, influencing vitality, healing, and life force amplification.

Yin-Yang Chakra: A perfected balance of the two, wielded in advanced abilities like materialization, chakra suppression, and life creation.

These specialized chakras form the foundation for rare techniques and Kekkei Genkai.

Hiruzen leaned back, visibly impressed. "This child, He is an asset to Konoha."

Danzo, however, remained skeptical. "He may be brilliant, but brilliance unchecked can become dangerous. We must tread carefully."

The elders exchanged glances, the potential of Yagami Uchiha now firmly on their radar.

Danzo slammed his hand on the table, his voice filled with urgency, "Hiruzen, you cannot let sentiment cloud your judgment. A talent like Yagami is wasted under your leadership. He belongs in Root, where his potential can be fully realized without the interference of Uchiha politics."

Hiruzen's expression hardened as he snapped back, "Danzo, enough! Yagami is Kagami's descendant, and I will honor his legacy. Just like Shisui, he will serve under me to ensure the village's safety and prosperity."

Koharu interjected, her tone calculated, "There is no need to argue. Mold him first, like Shisui. Only after that should we decide his path. For now, strengthen his loyalty to the village."

Hiruzen turned to Daisuke, seeking more clarity. "Daisuke, what can you tell me about his skills outside of academics?"

Daisuke bowed slightly, replying with pride, "Hokage-sama, Yagami has already proven himself beyond the academy. He dismantled all the bully groups single-handedly, earning respect and fear from his peers. His tactical mind and combat skills are unmatched."

Hiruzen smirked. "Impressive. But first, I need to know his origins. Cat!"

A masked ANBU operative flickered into the room, kneeling before the Hokage. "Hai, Hokage-sama."

"Find out everything about Uchiha Yagami—his lineage, background, and connections. I want a full report immediately," Hiruzen commanded.

"Five minutes, Hokage-sama." With a blur, Cat disappeared toward ANBU headquarters.

Moments later, Cat returned, presenting a sealed scroll to the Hokage.

Hiruzen unfurled the scroll, scanning its contents with sharp eyes.

Scroll Contents: data card

Name: Uchiha Yagami

Parents:

Father: Kaito Uzumaki ☠

Mother: Uchiha Isami ✔

Special Traits: Sensory Type (as noted by Deputy Jōnin Commander Kaito Uzumaki)

Notes:

Harbors a grudge against the Uchiha clan for causing his mother undue stress.

High-potential talent with confirmed three-tomoe Sharingan, verified by ANBU Headquarters.

Hiruzen leaned back, a satisfied grin spreading across his face. "Half-Uzumaki and a Sensory type Kekkei Genkai? This is a gift! Add to that his disdain for the Uchiha, and we have the perfect candidate to keep the clan in check."

Danzo frowned, his frustration evident. "Hiruzen, you're being reckless. This child is a double-edged sword. If not properly handled, he could become a liability."

Hiruzen waved his concerns away. "Nonsense, Danzo. He's exactly what we need: a top-tier talent with a deep understanding of the Will of Fire, yet distanced enough from the Uchiha's influence. He's the perfect bridge to monitor the clan's activities."

Turning back to Daisuke, Hiruzen said, "You've done well, Daisuke. Your efforts will not go unnoticed. Consider your bonus doubled this time."

Daisuke bowed deeply, his gratitude spilling over. "Thank you, Hokage-sama! I am honored." With that, he left the room, elated.

Hiruzen clasped his hands together, his mind already calculating. "With Yagami in our ranks, we gain another bridge to the Uchiha clan. Shisui was the first. Now, we have a second—a child who understands loyalty to the village above all else. The Will of Fire will burn brighter with him in Konoha's fold."

Danzo leaned forward, his tone calm but insistent. "Let the boy graduate first. Afterward, we'll assign him to D-rank missions for a while. That will keep him grounded while assessing his adaptability. I suggest placing him in Shisui's tracking team or perhaps Aburame's style tracking team to hone his skills further."

Hiruzen shook his head slightly, his voice firm. "No, Danzo. I don't want him too comfortable with Shisui's team just yet. Shisui's mentorship might make things easier for him, but that's not the path for Yagami. He must face hardships to understand the essence of teamwork. Syncing with a team filled with new faces is needed. Aburame's style tracking team will serve that purpose well."

Danzo smirked, clearly calculating. "In that case, I'll hold off on Torune's Root ANBU recruitment for now. Instead, we'll assign Yagami to a team with an experienced Hyūga and a seasoned Yamanaka Jōnin. Such a combination will complement his skills and ensure the team's overall effectiveness."

Hiruzen nodded in approval. "You're putting together a strong team, Danzo. That will give him correct skills."

Hamara, who had been silent, chuckled softly. "I see Danzo still has a knack for team formations."

Danzo insulted Hamara "Yeah, I atleast don't hid my face in the bushes leaving entire body exposed, when an enemy camp finds us"

The elders shared a rare moment of laughter, the tension in the room easing briefly. The Hokage and his council were united in their plans for Yagami, each seeing the boy as a pivotal piece in Konoha's future.
