Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The Chaos Ogryn in Heavy Armor

Qin Yun's words made the players realize the gun in Old Bird's hand wasn't that valuable, so they lost interest and stopped paying attention to it.

They just thought that next time they looted, they needed to be quicker, so they could get a gun for themselves.

Little Chubby and Brother Ballsy were a bit disappointed they couldn't buy Old Bird's gun.

But thinking that the game had just started, and there would be plenty of chances to get firearms later, they perked up again.

After this small interlude, Qin Yun led the players to continue exploring, starting from the strategic planning room.

He had checked the overall layout of the Imperial Glory on the control console.

He knew there was an armory near the strategic planning room containing firearms.

He planned to get some weapons to equip these players.

With just crude weapons like water pipes and wrenches, they couldn't possibly reclaim control of the Imperial Glory.

A Luna-class warship is about 5 kilometers long, with a beam of 0.8 kilometers, and can accommodate nearly 100,000 crew members.

Even if some died at the Cadia battlefield, another batch died in the Warp accident, and another batch were slaughtered by Warp entities, there were still at least twenty to thirty thousand left who had turned into monsters.

Sixteen people clearing out tens of thousands of monsters.

Even if those monsters stood still and let them kill, it would be a massive task without firearms.

Moreover, the enemies wouldn't just stand still.

There might still be Warp entities lurking on the lower decks.

Areas like the cargo holds, living quarters, and lower decks very likely had armed crew, armed guards, and others.

Even if corrupted by Chaos, these guys would retain their instinct to use firearms.

To defeat those enemies and reclaim the Imperial Glory, they needed sufficiently powerful firepower.

The armory wasn't far from the strategic planning room, about three hundred meters away.

The only problem was the number of monsters along the way.

The slightest commotion would make them swarm from all directions.

Roars, blood, and death intertwined.

Bullets tore through flesh, blades severed bones and sinews.

Qin Yun, holding an auto pistol in one hand and an entrenching tool in the other, led the charge at the front.

Bang!

A mutant roaring at Qin Yun, baring its fangs, had its head blown off.

Another mutant charging at him was struck on the head by the entrenching tool.

The savage force caused its head to burst like a watermelon, twitching as it fell.

The players following behind Qin Yun also fought fiercely.

They formed small teams, cooperating with each other.

Ten-times, Old Bird, and Warmaster teamed up, coordinating quite well.

A mutant lunged at them, was knocked down by Warmaster swinging his wrench.

Ten-times promptly stepped on it, preventing it from getting up.

Old Bird pressed the gun barrel against the mutant's head. "In the name of the Emperor, I grant you mercy."

Then he pulled the trigger.

A red beam, like a ruby, shot out, instantly piercing the mutant's head.

After a few twitches, the mutant moved no more.

"I reached Level 3! And I got the skill 'Firearms Proficiency (Novice)'!"

Old Bird's tone was pleasantly surprised.

"I leveled up, too, but the new skill I got is 'Warp Siphon (Novice)'."

Ten-times stretched out his hands, a faint glow enveloping them.

"Hey, so you really are a psyker nutjob?" Warmaster looked at Ten-times's hands in amazement. "Awesome! When do you evolve to being able to pop heads?"

"I didn't expect to be a spellcaster either," Ten-times shook his head. "Probably just a psyker rookie. Need to be higher level to learn head-popping."

Snarling sounds erupted.

Two mutants came running from a distance, howling.

Ten-times turned to look, then instinctively pushed his hands forward.

An invisible force erupted, forming an impact.

The two mutants were sent flying as if hit by a heavy truck.

Bang! Bang!

The two mutants slammed into the wall.

Bones broken, tendons snapped, dead instantly.

Warmaster and Old Bird stared in shock, looking from Ten-times's hands to the flying mutants.

They shouted in unison.

"Holy crap, that's freaking awesome!"

A look of ecstasy also appeared on Ten-times's face.

He never expected his psychic power to be this strong!

With a bit of training, punching Ahriman, kicking Magnus, and rivaling the Changer of Ways wouldn't be a dream.

"Hehehe, it's time for this world to feel the humiliation from a spellcaster." Ten-times was getting a bit full of himself.

"Brother, mighty! Ten times, must humiliate ten times!" Old Bird shouted.

Warmaster also cheered him on. "Humiliate this world hard, young man!"

Just then, another mutant charged out from around the corner at the end of the corridor, howling as it rushed towards the three of them.

"Brother, please make your move."

Old Bird and Warmaste tacitly stepped back, leaving the stage to Ten-times.

"Watch me."

Ten-times was about to repeat his trick, absorbing Warp energy to blast the mutant away.

Suddenly, his head felt as if pierced by needles, excruciatingly painful.

Terrifying laughter echoed in his ears, as if from hell.

The next second, Ten-times knelt on the ground, clutching his head, which felt like it was about to explode, making sounds of agony.

This sudden change left Old Bird and Warmaster behind him, dumbfounded.

The spellcaster who was just shouting about humiliating the world was now kneeling??

He hadn't even humiliated the world yet! Was he already being counter-pinned by the world and ground into the dirt??

"Do not abuse psychic powers."

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Several gunshots rang out as Qin Yun, who had walked over, shot and killed that mutant.

He helped Ten-times up and sternly warned him.

"Your mind is not strong enough. Overusing psychic powers will overwhelm you. In severe cases, it could cause your head to explode."

"Looks like there are quite a few restrictions on being a spellcaster; not the top-tier class this version." Old Bird said with some regret.

"Alright, better stop thinking about humiliating the world. Follow your brothers and focus on shooting." Warmaster supported Ten-times, advising him earnestly. "Playing with psychic powers is destined to be unprofitable. A real man should shoot guns, shoot hard."

 The headache-plagued Ten-times looked speechless.

The mutants on the path to the armory were all weak and had no guns.

Under Qin Yun's command, the players successfully reached the armory's main door.

He entered the password obtained from the control console.

The sound of gears turning echoed, and the door opened.

The armory wasn't large, only about thirty square meters.

Inside were four racks filled with a dazzling array of guns.

The players rushed into the armory like plunderers seeing catnip, ecstatically grabbing their preferred weapons.

"I want this one, this one!"

Warmaster, quick-eyed and deft-handed, grabbed a lasgun and hung two auto pistols on his hips.

Other players followed suit, afraid of getting less.

"Damn, is this the loyal Plasma?"

A player, called Scalpy by others, excitedly raised a plasma gun whose grip emitted a blue glow.

"The Magnacore Pattern Plasma Gun, typically used by Cadian Shock Troops." Ten-times glanced at it and recognized the model of the plasma gun in Scalpy's hand.

"Damn, you can recognize that? Awesome." Scalpy gave Ten-times a thumbs-up.

"I don't play games or miniatures much; instead, I like studying the lore and data, so I'm very knowledgeable about equipment, ships, and such." Ten-times said somewhat sheepishly.

"Krak Grenades, hehe, grab a few more."

Brother Ballsy picked up several grenades, stuffing them into his pockets.

"There are Melta Bombs, grab them, grab them." Old Bird copied him nearby.

"Brothers, come help push this big guy out!" Little Chubby waved to everyone.

"Damn, that's a Multi-lase, a proper heavy weapon!"

Scalpy walked over and saw that Little Chubby had found a multi-barrel heavy laser gun with a shield, wheels, and a support stand. His eyes widened.

"Sanctus Mk.Ⅲ Multi-Las, a rare variant used Great Crusade era. With this thing set up in position, we wouldn't fear any number of mutants."

Ten-times walked up and stroked the cold las barrel, his movements gentle, his tone full of excitement.

"The game's details are too good. It even has the binary prayers on the barrel."

"Come on, push it out." Little Chubby waved and shouted. "Let those damned mutants taste the might of the Omnissiah!"

Several players on good terms with Little Chubby helped push the multi-las to the doorway.

This thing wasn't light; even without the battery, it took two players to move it.

The players swarmed into the armory like raiders.

Some guys had several guns slung on their backs, three or four pistols on their hips.

Even that wasn't enough; they kept grabbing grenades, covering themselves from head to toe.

"Enough." Qin Yun stopped the players from continuing to scramble.

"These are all the Emperor's property. Take what you need, no more. You should not waste."

"These weapons all require purification rituals. I will purify them for you once. For the rest, you must use Faith Points at the shrine to purify them."

Hearing Qin Yun's words, the players let out a collective groan.

But there was no helping it; Qin Yun held the power to ban them.

They could only obediently put back the extra guns and ammunition.

Qin Yun used Purification to dispel the Chaotic taint from the players' weapons.

When the accident happened on the Imperial Glory, the entire ship was exposed to the Warp.

Naturally, these firearms were not spared; all were corrupted.

It was just a matter of degree.

After letting the players take their weapons, Qin Yun closed the armory again and set a new password.

This was the first batch of assets.

Needed to entice players who logged in later.

With guns, the speed of clearing mutants increased significantly.

The players also generally reached Level 3 during the battles, awakening basic skills like Firearms Proficiency.

Several corridors near the strategic planning room were quickly cleared.

After Qin Yun led the players to clear out a group of mutants, they arrived at the tactical projection hall.

The hall's metal blast door was eight meters high, imposing and majestic.

The door's surface featured a huge Imperial double-headed eagle relief.

Qin Yun entered the password on the verification pad.

Accompanied by flashing lights and the hum of gears, the heavy metal blast door slowly opened.

Roar!

A low growl came from inside.

By the rotating crimson lights inside the hall, the players saw a group of ferocious mutants and two Chaos Ogryns clad in heavy armor, holding heavy shields and power mauls.

"Do you know the difference between an Ogryn in heavy armor and an Astartes?"

Ten-times nudged Old Bird's shoulder with his elbow, asking him a question.

Old Bird looked blank. "What's the difference?"

"Correct, there is no difference."

"That joke is so humorous, it's not funny at all."

The Chaos Ogryns let out low roars at the players, then rumbled forward in a charge.

The mutants howled, also surging forward like a wave.

"Open fire!" Qin Yun shouted and was the first to pull the trigger.
