Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: We Have to Corpse Run After Resurrecting??

Motivated by the Contribution Point system, the players willingly became diligent worker drones without needing Qin Yun to assign tasks.

Warmaster and the other two players dragged the corpses in the tactical projection hall one by one to the airlock platform.

Once enough corpses piled up on the platform, the players closed the inner blast door and opened the outer blast door.

Then they operated the mechanical arm to push the corpses out into space.

The corpses quickly froze and drifted into the boundless void.

This scene was awe-inspiring for players who had never experienced space before.

"This game fulfills my dream of traveling through space," Warmaster said, a sentiment echoed by the other two players.

This game was truly amazing.

Everything felt so real.

Even the void was rendered so realistically.

After all the corpses were thrown, the airlock closed, and air pressure was restored.

"Let's go, keep moving bodies. We still have to clean the tactical hall later," Warmaster said, leading his two companions as they continued their work, huffing and puffing.

As for the remaining two players, under Qin Yun's supervision, they went to the armory to move weapons.

They also checked previously unexamined cabins, registering all collected supplies.

These tedious tasks weren't as thrilling as combat.

But incentivized by the Contribution Point system, the players' enthusiasm remained relatively high.

The tactical projection hall was soon cleaned up.

Weapons and firearms were also moved over, sorted, and placed in a corner.

Weapons dropped by players upon death were also retrieved.

The Contribution Points earned by the players were entered by Qin Yun into the tactical control console and displayed via projection.

Qin Yun even thoughtfully created a ranking list.

Currently, the top spot was held by Blue Two-Headed Bird! Loyalty.

With a staggering 23,000 points, he led the second place by a huge margin.

This guy had used Melta bombs to take out the last Chaos Ogryn with him during the previous battle.

It was precisely his sacrifice that allowed Qin Yun and the others to successfully capture the tactical projection hall.

Such deeds definitely deserved promotion to encourage competition among the players.

Subsequently, Qin Yun assigned new tasks to the players.

Clearing the corridors between the strategic planning room and the tactical projection hall, also offering Contribution Points.

Once the ranking was displayed, the already enthusiastic players became even more motivated.

They secretly competed, each wanting a higher rank.

Inside the villa.

Qian Donglai tossed and turned, unable to sleep.

He played on the computer, lay in bed, got up and went to the gym to work out.

These five hours felt incredibly long to him, longer than a century.

Sometimes, it felt like a long time had passed.

But checking his phone revealed less than ten minutes had gone by.

After an agonizing wait, he finally saw the resurrection timer hit zero.

Qian Donglai immediately put on the helmet and selected to log into the game.

The golden double-headed eagle in his vision burst into light, making him instinctively close his eyes.

Qian Donglai expected to resurrect directly at the shrine.

But when he opened his eyes, he found himself in a magnificent city of light.

The city was built with unparalleled craftsmanship.

It had countless towers and domes, filled with architectural styles from various human civilizations.

Gothic vaults of massive stone and stained glass, palaces of brick and tile, etc.

Anything that had appeared in human history could be found here.

Every building was exquisitely beautiful, like works of art.

The city was vast and boundless, stretching to the horizon where it abruptly ended.

A ring-shaped high wall, like a giant serpent, encircled it, the wall soaring into the clouds.

The dome above was pitch black as ink, forming an extreme contrast with the radiant city of light beneath his feet.

A star of unimaginable scale hung in the black sky, appearing isolated.

The star was so immense it seemed within reach, bringing an unparalleled sense of visual oppression.

"Holy crap, the game has a place like this??"

Qian Donglai, who thought he couldn't be shocked by Warhammer OL anymore, widened his eyes.

He could hardly believe what he was seeing.

"Who on earth was the mastermind behind this game??"

"How could they create such an incredible game!!"

If he ever met them, he'd definitely kowtow twice and beg them to accept his knees, which had once been struck by an arrow in Whiterun.

"This should be the game's resurrection hub, kinda like the graveyard in WoW."

"Does that mean we have to corpse run to resurrect?"

"I heard the Living Saint Celestine had to corpse run every time she resurrected."

"The game devs are so dedicated to realism; it's not impossible they included this Warhammer lore detail."

Qian Donglai wanted to explore this city properly and figure out how the corpse run resurrection worked.

Suddenly, a force pushed him forward violently.

He lost his footing and plummeted into the boundless light.

The light faded, and the hum of machinery and the noise of other players reached his ears.

He looked around and found himself in the tactical projection hall.

Behind him was the shrine dedicated to the Emperor.

Suddenly, he felt a nudge on his shoulder.

Turning around, he saw it was Old Bird.

"Ten-times, you're online too!"

Old Bird's tone was excited. He eagerly pulled him towards the tactical projection console. "Look, I'm ranked first!"

Ten-times looked at the Contribution Points leaderboard in front of him, utterly confused.

"I was only offline for a few hours, how did a Contribution Points leaderboard appear??"

"The Guide just set this up," Old Bird explained. "I only found out after logging in too."

"The Guide broke down the things we need to do into individual tasks, assessed their value, and determined the Contribution Point rewards."

"Contribution Points can be exchanged for things the Guide controls. For example, you, having just resurrected, need to use Contribution Points to get weapons."

Ten-times frowned, then his expression relaxed.

"This system is pretty good. Those who can do more work should, but those who can do more should also get more. This motivates initiative. Otherwise, a 'big pot rice' system with egalitarianism can easily lead to dissatisfaction."

He had noticed a problem back during the scramble for weapons in the armory.

Without a reward/punishment system, relying solely on self-discipline couldn't foster a positive and harmonious game environment.

Implementing a Contribution Point system could also reduce the likelihood of players messing around.

Making them value their lives and equipment more.

All the players who had died had logged back into the Warhammer universe.

Not a single one was absent.

After all, playing the game was equivalent to sleep and didn't affect the next day's work.

Rather than wasting sleep time, it was better to grind the game hard.

After the players used their Contribution Points to exchange for weapons and equipment,

Qin Yun gathered them together.

He planned to take advantage of the momentum to capture key areas like the command hall, main communication control room, and prayer chapel, reclaiming control of the bridge.

"The Emperor's gaze is upon us. No matter the cost, we must reclaim this warship."

"We must continue the fight, bringing the Emperor's wrath upon those disgusting enemies."

Before the battle, Qin Yun gave a small pep talk to boost the players' morale.

"Loyalty! Fight for the Emperor!" Warmaster and Old Bird shouted.

"Loyalty! Fight for the Emperor!"

"Loyalty! Fight for the Emperor!"

Infected by their fervor, the other players joined in the shouts, boosting morale.

To maximize efficiency, Qin Yun divided the fifteen players into three squads.

To further motivate them, Qin Yun specifically used a holographic screen to display the squad rankings.

The squad ranked first after reclaiming the bridge would receive an additional reward.

These measures filled the players with drive.

They were all rolling up their sleeves, ready for action.

"For the Emperor!"

After raising his arm and shouting, Qin Yun reached out and pressed the button to open the blast door leading to another passage from the tactical projection hall.
