"Xiyu!"
Su Ye's voice snapped me out of my thoughts so suddenly that I almost jolted. I blinked rapidly, the memories of my past life fading like smoke as I turned my head toward him.
"Yes?"
He stared at me, eyes narrowed in concern. "What were you thinking? I called you so many times, but you didn't answer…."
I shook my head quickly. "Nothing."
He sighed, giving me a helpless look. "You know, you can always share your worries and troubles with me, wife. I am your husband…"
"Pretend husband," I corrected without missing a beat.
"That's what you think," he muttered under his breath.
My eyes narrowed sharply. "Did you say something?"
"Nothing," he replied immediately, shaking his head with that innocent face he definitely didn't deserve.
I stared at him for two seconds before huffing and asking, "So, tell me about your family. Apart from Grandpa, who else is there? And how are they like?"
