Kurv's eyes ran through the menu. Every dish was appealing to her eyes. There were several home-made dishes –her favourite.
Girrt had left their presence, weary of his own life and scared of losing his high-paid job. Elr was the only employee who paid that much to his underlings.
Not only because he values his employees and their potential altogether, but also because, with them, they were like pepperoni pizza and hot sauce --outstanding in solo and incredible when put together.
His high intellect blended with his employees' commitment.. That's what makes Tensixx the best in all.
Tensixx has more income than any other company that has ever existed- with a net worth of five trillion monthly, 30% which was reinvested into annual budgets,15% for maintenance and 35% returns to the CEO, then the rest that went straight into the bank accounts of each of them according to their ranks in office.
The lowest monthly income of an E-rank employee at Tensixx was equivalent to a chief banker's quarterly income.
Anyone would dreame of working with Tensixx. But only a few got this golden opportunity.
Getting fired was like a nightmare for his employees. Setting the monetary advantage aside, having a boss like Elr D'Carter was a very rare occurrence in the industrial world.
With a wide range of CEOs drifting into immorality, while the rest caring little or less about their underlyings.
Elr was magnetic, his charisma little but solidified, that's what attracts people to him.
Just like Wyatt had once said. "Your potential is what draws them closer to you. It's rare. What you have is."
Kurv's eyes darted up and straight at Elr. He was going to pay.. right? No gentleman would hand a menu book over to a lady without the intention of paying.
Elr had no intention of paying.
Albert had told him everything apart having to sponsor anyone's meal. And the frustration of having 25 million debited from his account hadn't left him either; it reopened like a fresh wound each time he saw his wallet balance.
'I'm not eating a morsel.' Elr finalised. Albert wasn't going to succeed in draining him of every dime he'd worked for.
Just then, a pleasant aroma filled the air. One that was so irresistible even to a commoner with no funds.
Kurv's eyes beamed at the delicacies before her. She had ordered --Every. Single. Thing. On the list. Not even one was left out.
Four waiters had to walk up to them with several dishes. After arranging them before the supposed couple, the whole table was filled up. Not even a fork could fit in.
Hempton's eyebrows twitched. "She seriously ordered everything on the menu?"
~"I can't believe her."
~"She's cute and all, but that's only what a savage is capable of."
~"What a Cheap. Plain. Opportunist."
The side comments grew stronger until Elr's patience was at the breadth's end of snapping.
Just who do they think they are?
'Leo. Is there a chance you can get a person's BAN without full knowledge of their personal info?' Elr texted.
'A question like that only shatters my pride--of COURSE I can!' Leon replied.
'Just so you care, I have the basic and confidential info of everyone within 39 39-mile radius from my location, LLP..
Leon leaned back on his swivel. The pending message looked a bit too crammed for someone on a Blind date. He backspaced the whole thing and typed only a few words. A smirk growing on his face.
Elr's phone chimed with a message. It was from Leon. About time.
'Your A/c password is safe with me:)♦‡★‡'
'You awful sneak!'

I really didn't mean to. But the order stuff was on impulse and now, everyone has turned against me. Even my date - Elr wouldn't even look at me the least speak with me.
The cashier walked up to me. It was time for payment. No way.
"Cash or card? " he asked me.
I. Froze.
Everyone's eyes bore into my back. Watching for my next reaction, like it was something we had all rehearsed together and I wasn't playing my part well.
"C--c-ar--d.. " I pulled out my wallet from my mini bag, inwardly crying for help with each slow move I made opening it up.
Just kill me.
I felt like the floor should open up and take me with it.
He took it from me before I even handed it to him, like he was ready to be the first to mock me and just couldn't wait on queue.
I looked at Elr with pleading eyes, hoping for his heroic intervention. 'Please do something! Anything!!' my mind screamed at him.
He just kept pressing his phone without even sparing me a glance. If I knew he wasn't willing to pay, then I wouldn't have stressed it to begin with.
It's over.
My mind paced back to reality. What's that?.
The cashier was still in front of me. Right. The bomb was about to explode.
Great. Arrest me because I walked into a five star restaurant without any funds to pay for a decent meal.
The cashier's words distracted me. Huh?
He returned to me, my card, and asked if there was anything else I wanted.
"Anything else, Ma'am?" His once spiteful look had immediately shifted to a bright smile.
"No." The words managed to come out of my shaky guilt-filled throat.
I stuttered for a moment. Eyes batting in confusion.. 'Did I just pay for a thousand-dollar meal with an empty credit card?'
The rumours behind my back faded instantly, everyone with the strong impression that I had paid by myself. That alone was enough to silence them.
But did I really pay? How? What sort of miracle had the Almighty used me to perform?
If this wasn't a dream then I'm writing a novel about it once all this is over.
Most of all, Elr owed me an explanation —He was my prime suspect. But then.. I never did tell him my A/c info.. so, was it some sort of hacker?
My mind was going into a frenzy trying to figure out who my last-minute saviour was.
Just then, Elr walked out on an important or seemingly important phone call. That guy is impossible.
But at least, that was my cue to pack up. It will only look like we were leaving, so no one would cast me a dirty look. I think they've all had enough show for tonight.
"Um... Excuse me," I asked, stripping my voice of every panic and uncertainty. The waiter stopped and turned to me almost immediately. Like a servant would to his master.
---
'Isn't this the lady who paid for everything on the menu with just her own money? Ms Hempton said I should be very nice. Such a lady is a very rare case these days.'
"Mr. Elr and I are heading out," Kurv lied, "would you mind packing up my stuffs for takeaway?"
" Sure, Ma'am.. Anything of course." The waiter rushed to the counter and returned with two other waitresses who packed all the goodies for her and even added a VIP only snack for her.
'Ok. That's way too nice.' Kurv's mind screamed at them as she collected the bags with the sweetest smile.
'Not even a single drink on the menu. What is Al trying to do? Literally kill me??' Elr was especially fuming now, as he returned inside. The last thing he wanted to do was talk to anyone.
"Thanks, Elr."
