Chapter 51 - Chapter 51: Vegeta’s Certain Death

In the Realm of the Gods of Destruction, the once-chaotic atmosphere finally began to calm.

Gran's youthful voice echoed faintly through the still air.

"You really want to see if Vegeta's dead? From what I know about you Saiyans, he's definitely finished. Why even bother watching a foregone conclusion?"

Beerus snorted, cracking his neck impatiently. He had no interest in pointless debates—he just wanted to know why Gran was still so fixated on that Super Saiyan form.

The Supreme Kai, Shin, had joined them at the lakeside, nodding in agreement.

"Lord Beerus is right. Back when I was still managing the universe, the Saiyans were infamous across the stars—violent, arrogant, and cruel…"

He suddenly stopped. Gran's sharp little eyes had started to glint with dangerous light.

Shin flinched, forcing an awkward smile.

"Ah—uh, you know what I mean, right? I wasn't talking about you, of course."

"I meant the other Saiyans—those heartless, bloodthirsty ones. Besides, even you said that Vegeta once thought of abandoning Raditz countless times, didn't you?"

"In that case, even if Raditz were from another race, there's no way he'd risk his life to save Vegeta."

When Shin finished, Kibito nodded eagerly beside him. Whatever his master said was always right.

Gran's expression eased, though his tiny fists unclenched slowly. If Shin really had been throwing shade at him, the god of creation would've been bawling before this was over.

"Enough talk. Since everyone's so curious, let's just watch and find out," Beerus said coldly, twisting his neck again.

"That brat abandoned Gran once—so it's only fair he gets abandoned by his comrades now. Poetic justice, isn't it?"

He shot Gran a sharp grin, as if to say, This is what a proper candidate for God of Destruction should be.

While they exchanged words, only Whis sat quietly, a faint, knowing smile playing on his lips.

"Well then," Whis said softly, "let's see how Vegeta meets his end."

With a flick of his staff, a beam of divine light shot forth—an enormous image blossomed in the air, projecting the distant scene before them.

Everyone lifted their gaze.

Gran tilted his small head up, his face unreadable, as if bracing himself for something he already knew.

The projection began to play.

As Gran predicted, once Whis had left, Raditz and Nappa wasted no time abandoning Vegeta. They didn't even hesitate.

Seeing this, Beerus and the others nodded in satisfaction. At least Gran's grudge was finally given closure.

But then—the next scene froze them all.

Just as Raditz and Nappa's ship was about to leave the planet, it abruptly turned around. Against all odds, they returned… and Raditz fed Vegeta one of the precious Senzu Beans.

"What?! That's impossible!"

Everyone stared in disbelief.

Then they realized why—an alien warship had entered the planet's atmosphere. In a desperate bid to survive, Raditz and Nappa had saved Vegeta, hoping his power might buy them time.

The group turned toward Gran.

"Don't look at me," he said flatly. "Keep watching."

Whis's amused eyes glimmered—he had already guessed it. The boy wanted to let Vegeta live.

The vision continued.

After recovering from near death, Vegeta's power level shot up—from 6,000 to 12,000.

But before long, the Ginyu Force descended from the heavens.

Despite his newfound strength, Vegeta was no match for all five elite warriors. Within moments, he was on the brink of death again.

Just as everyone assumed this was the end

Nappa pulled out a tiny fragment of a Senzu Bean and shoved it into Vegeta's mouth.

Once restored, Vegeta's power doubled again—to 30,000.

"It was Nappa's greed," Gran muttered coldly, his tiny fists clenching. "He forced Raditz to split the beans earlier. That's how Vegeta survived again."

Whis blinked. Wait… isn't this all going according to Gran's plan? Then why that expression?

The battle raged on in the image.

Even with 30,000 battle power, Vegeta was no match for the Ginyu Force. He was beaten nearly to death again.

But once more

Raditz produced another minuscule shard of a bean.

And Nappa, realizing the loophole, did the same—another tiny scrap of Senzu dust.

Those two had actually split Gran's quarter-bean into four micro-fragments!

Because of that, Vegeta recovered four separate times… each time doubling in power—until he reached a staggering 300,000 battle level.

And then, in a blur of golden fury

Vegeta annihilated the entire Ginyu Force.

Even Captain Ginyu never had the chance to use his body-switching ability.

Silence.

The Realm of Destruction fell completely still.

Everyone finally understood—Raditz and Nappa had unintentionally turned Gran's revenge into Vegeta's triumph.

"Gran… your two tribesmen…" Shin stammered, trembling as he tried to hold back laughter.

"Those two are absolute idiots!" Gran exploded, his face twisting between rage and disbelief. His knuckles cracked audibly as he clenched his fists.

Whis just blinked. That wasn't what he wanted?

But it was true—Gran had never intended to spare Vegeta.

He'd planned everything meticulously.

Step one: Crush Vegeta.

Step two: Shatter his pride with the power of the Super Saiyan.

Final step: Make him taste the agony of abandonment—the same pain Gran once endured.

This was supposed to be Vegeta's certain death.

Even the sudden arrival of the Ginyu Force shouldn't have changed that.

After all, no Saiyan could survive against 120,000 battle power—not with only a quarter of a Senzu Bean!

Yet somehow, thanks to their absurd ingenuity…

the impossible had happened.

And Gran's perfect revenge had turned into a cosmic joke.

This was supposed to be Vegeta's death trap.
