"Beerus? A new disciple?"
"Wait—your big sister?!"
Champa struggled to swallow a mouthful of bread, pounding his chest twice with a heavy thud.
Boom!
Boom!
The deafening shockwaves shook the entire Realm of Destruction. Only then did Champa manage to choke down that dry, crumbly piece of bread.
As for that cup of greenish-black juice beside him… he wasn't about to touch it. Not a chance.
He finally asked, "Since when did you get in touch with Miss Kusu?"
"..."
Vados replied coolly, "That's between sisters. Don't stick your nose in it."
She'd learned about Whis's new disciple during a recent chat with her elder sister.
According to Kusu, Whis had even taken that little fellow to see their father. Supposedly, the kid's talent was… exceptional.
For someone like her elder sister to praise him that highly—well, it meant Whis's new disciple must be quite something.
"Fine, fine, I won't ask," Champa muttered, shrinking his neck. His eyes narrowed. "But with that skin-and-bones god's strength, even if every other Destroyer were to die, he wouldn't. So why suddenly take a successor?"
When he said that last line, Champa's fists unconsciously tightened.
"According to my sister, that little one's potential is extraordinary. That's why Lord Beerus and Whis made him a candidate for God of Destruction."
"That skin-and-bones cat—wasn't he half-dead not long ago? Just because that kid's talented?"
Champa's grip loosened, and a mocking grin spread across his face.
"That lazy skeleton only knows how to sleep all day. You think he has time to teach anyone? He'll probably just hold them back!"
Seeing Champa's expression shift, Vados's lips curved slightly.
These two brothers—always bickering, yet secretly worrying about each other. She could only sigh.
"Lord Champa, that's not quite fair," Vados said gently. "Even if Lord Beerus sleeps half his life away, his power is undeniable. Just a few moves from him could keep his disciple busy learning for centuries."
Beerus's power, huh?
Champa grimaced, recalling that game of hide-and-seek from long ago. His face darkened like the bottom of a pot.
Back then, Beerus had actually used Ultra Instinct—a technique reserved for angels!
Damn it!
How could a Destroyer know Ultra Instinct?!
"Speaking of which, Lord Champa, weren't you trying to learn Ultra Instinct yourself? How's that training coming along?"
Vados smiled knowingly.
"Don't mention that!"
Champa exploded, hurling the cup of vile, greenish-black juice across the room.
"Destroyers are supposed to master Selfishness of Destruction! So why the hell does that skin-and-bones freak get to learn Ultra Instinct?!"
The spilled juice splattered across the ground. Vados glanced down, her grip tightening slightly on her staff.
That cat had done it on purpose.
Noticing her silence, Champa darted his eyes aside, feigning innocence.
No way she noticed… right?
"Lord Champa," Vados said softly, "you're being quite disobedient."
"Wasting food is disgraceful. I hope you don't do that again."
The air turned frigid. Even a God of Destruction couldn't help but shiver.
Damn, what kind of temperature is this?!
"I—I won't do it again!" Champa stammered, bowing his head.
Only then did Vados nod in satisfaction. "As for Lord Beerus, yes, his Ultra Instinct isn't perfect yet. There are still… flaws."
"..."
Flaws or not, Champa would trade anything to learn that divine technique.
"But being able to grasp Ultra Instinct as a Destroyer is truly remarkable," Vados continued, oblivious to his growing fury. "Lord Beerus's talent is incredible—though he is quite lazy."
"Vados, that's enough!"
Champa's chest puffed up in outrage. "You're the angel of Universe 6, my angel! How can you keep praising that skin-and-bones cat?!
I'm strong too, you know! Why don't you ever praise me?!"
His small fists balled up, face scrunched like a sulking child whose owner had adopted another cat.
"Alright, alright," Vados giggled softly behind her hand. "My dear Lord Champa is very impressive too."
Balance and control—that was the first rule in her training manual. Tease the fat cat just enough, but never too far. Push him too hard, and his temper would explode.
"That's more like it!"
Champa straightened proudly, pounding his chest. "I'm way stronger than that skin-and-bones loser!"
"Anyway, tell me about that candidate from Universe 7. I want to see what makes that brat so special that Beerus chose him."
Even Champa's curiosity was piqued now—after all, both Vados and Kusu seemed to be watching this "candidate" closely.
"Apparently, the boy's only around nine years old. Whis took him in about three and a half years ago—"
"Wait, what?!" Champa cut her off, frowning. "Beerus's disciple is just a kid?"
A Destroyer was supposed to be the mightiest in their universe—someone strong enough to suppress all life within it.
And Beerus was among the strongest of all Destroyers. There was no way he'd choose a weakling.
A child as a candidate? How strong could a kid possibly be?!
"At first, I was skeptical too," Vados admitted, "but it's true. The new candidate for Universe 7's Destroyer is indeed a child."
"How gifted is he, then?"
Champa's tone turned serious now.
If Beerus hadn't chosen one of the top warriors in the universe, then that child must have terrifying potential.
"I'm not entirely sure," Vados said, "but my sister described him with just one phrase— 'His talent is extraordinary.'"
