Champa locked eyes with Beerus for a few seconds before grinning slyly.
"I brought something this time—a top-class delicacy exclusive to Universe Six! I guarantee you've never tasted anything like it, you backwater skeleton!"
As he spoke, a smug image flashed through Champa's mind:
Beerus sprawled on the ground, tears in his eyes, begging for just two more Dondon Bird Eggs after tasting one for the first time.
The thought alone made Champa snicker.
Those eggs were the most delicious thing he had ever eaten in his life—he refused to believe Beerus could resist them.
Beerus: "..."
Whis: "..."
Old Kai and the others: "..."
In the past, they might've been curious about Champa's so-called "top-tier cuisine."
But now?
Could anything in existence possibly taste better than hot pot?
Beerus took a deep breath, his expression turning cold.
"So you came all this way just to flaunt your Sixth Universe cuisine?"
"???"
Champa blinked in disbelief.
Since when did Beerus—who was obsessed with food—react like that?
He shook his head, face suddenly serious.
"Yes, that's one reason. But more importantly, I want to know—what's going on with you?"
"Why has your universe's Human Development Index skyrocketed like that?!"
On his way here, Champa had seen the signs—and when he'd spotted the Old Kai upon arrival, everything had clicked.
There was only one explanation: his lazy skeleton of a brother had teamed up with the Old Kai to manage the universe again.
But still…
This guy hates work. Why would he suddenly start managing a universe?
Beerus smirked, voice low and dripping with arrogance.
"My universe's Human Index rose that much because of me, obviously. What's wrong? Getting nervous that the Seventh Universe might surpass the Sixth?"
"Nervous? Me?! Of you—you skin-and-bones freak?!"
Champa exploded, tail whipping furiously.
"If I hadn't thought you were doing something insane—like destroying your own universe's foundation—you think I'd have bothered coming here—"
He cut himself off mid-sentence.
Damn it! Why did I say that out loud?
"..."
Beerus clenched his fist slightly.
So that was it—Champa thought the spike in human development meant he'd done something self-destructive.
Heh. This idiot's kind of… cute? What the hell am I thinking?
"I'm not that stupid," Beerus sighed. "And since you came all the way here, you've seen it for yourself—Seventh Universe is doing just fine."
He tilted his head with a mocking grin.
"Now stop yapping and bring out that food. I want to see if your so-called 'top-tier delicacy' really lives up to the brag."
"What's the rush?"
Champa's gaze swept over the area, eyes glinting with mischief.
"You'll get your taste later. But before that… I want to see this new disciple of yours—the one everyone's been talking about."
After all, even Kusu's evaluation of Beerus's disciple had been unusually high.
If that hype turned out to be nonsense, Champa was determined to mock Beerus until the end of time.
Mock him for picking a child as a candidate for God of Destruction.
But the moment his words fell
The entire atmosphere shifted. The air turned cold.
Beerus's golden eyes flashed with killing intent.
"How do you know I've taken on a disciple?"
Even Whis narrowed his eyes. That kind of information was strictly internal to the Seventh Universe. No one else should've known.
Then suddenly
Whis caught sight of Vados giving him a subtle nod.
"..."
Whis nearly facepalmed.
Of course.
That meant she was the one who told Champa.
And if Vados knew, there was only one possible source—their eldest sister.
When Whis had gone to Zeno's Palace to ask their father about Audis long ago, his sister had taken him aside and detained him for a whole month afterward.
Naturally, that meant she had learned about Gran too.
Whis stepped closer and whispered a few words into Beerus's ear.
After hearing the explanation, Beerus's intense gaze softened.
He trusted Champa and Vados enough not to worry.
"Fine," Beerus said with a smirk. "Since you two want to see him—let you see for yourselves."
He and Whis exchanged a quick glance. A silent understanding passed between them, and identical grins crept across their faces.
No one—not even Gods or Angels—could stay calm before Gran.
They both knew the sight of him would be worth every moment.
They stepped aside.
The Old Kai, Shin, and Kibito all moved out of the way as well, revealing the young boy lying peacefully on the recliner by the lake.
That was when Champa and Vados finally laid eyes on Gran.
The small boy with tousled hair slept soundly, completely unaware of the attention on him.
But the instant their eyes met his form
BOOOOM!
Vados's composure shattered.
As an Angel, she could instantly perceive the boy's essence—what he truly was.
"L-Lord Champa… are you seeing this?" she stammered. For perhaps the first time in her life, her voice trembled.
"I… I see it! But—how is this even possible?!"
Champa's fists clenched tight, disbelief flooding his eyes.
"Vados! Slap me! Hard! I need to know if I'm dreaming!"
Smack!
"Ah! Ow!"
"Lord Champa, are we dreaming?"
"It hurts! So no—we're not! But how the hell is this possible?!"
Champa clutched his cheek, stumbling backward in shock.
Beerus and Whis could barely contain their laughter—their grins nearly reached their ears.
That was exactly the reaction Beerus wanted.
Even the Old Kai couldn't help but smirk—he remembered being just as stunned by Gran's potential the first time.
So even Destroyers and Angels could be frightened by this child's talent.
Champa stared at the boy in awe.
"Even while asleep, he's maintaining perfect control over his energy! His dimensional level is at the pinnacle of the Kai Realm… and that faint, ethereal aura…"
"He's refined his mind to the level of selflessness! Which means… this child reaching Ultra Instinct is just a matter of time!"
"Damn it all!"
First Beerus, and now this brat? Another candidate for God of Destruction who's already touching Ultra Instinct?!
Why can't it ever be me?!
Champa's fists trembled, his inner scream nearly tearing through his throat.
"Lord Champa," Vados added softly, "his body's instinctive reflexes have already reached the second stage."
"That's a lie! I don't believe it!"
Champa covered his ears, face twisted with envy and frustration.
He'd come here to gloat—to tempt Beerus with food, and maybe laugh at his new disciple.
But instead
He'd been utterly crushed.
That boy's talent was so absurd that even food seemed meaningless now.
"H-He's not even ten years old yet! How can someone that young have trained to this level?!" Champa roared in disbelief.
"Not even ten," Beerus replied with mock pride. "Impressive, isn't he?"
The sight of Champa's breakdown made Beerus burst into laughter.
"Hahaha! What's wrong, Champa? Feeling a little outclassed?"
"Beerus, you damn bastard!!!"
