Chapter 67 - Chapter 67: Gran Awakens, the Bottleneck Shattered

When Champa said those words, he nearly ground his back teeth into dust.

Beside him, Vados's heart was practically bursting with envy.

First Beerus, now another terrifying candidate for God of Destruction—why did her foolish little brother always end up with such amazing disciples?

And she... she only had Champa?!

So unfair!

"Whis, where on earth did you kidnap this little monster from?" Vados snapped through clenched teeth.

"Kidnap?"

Whis chuckled softly, covering his mouth with elegant amusement. "With the reputation Lord Beerus and I have in Universe 7, do you really think we need to kidnap anyone? He came knocking on our door himself!"

At that, Whis and Beerus exchanged a knowing look.

Ah, how satisfying it felt to have a disciple that made others so jealous!

"Whis! You're so hateful!"

Seeing his smug face, Vados stomped her foot in frustration.

"Ohoho~ My dear sister, that's something you'll never have."

Whis was just about to tease her further when

Suddenly!

He sensed something.

"Lord Beerus, it seems Gran is about to wake up," Whis said urgently.

"He's finally waking up?!"

Beerus didn't bother continuing his mockery of Champa. In a flash, he appeared at Gran's side.

The Old Kai and Shin quickly rushed over as well.

The sudden shift left Champa blinking in confusion. He reined in his anger and asked,

"Vados, what's going on with that kid?"

"Judging by his condition, I'd say he was simply too exhausted before," Vados replied. "That's why he fell into such a deep sleep."

"Exhausted, huh? Makes sense. To reach that level of strength at his age—it's no wonder he's worn out."

As he spoke, Champa gave Gran another look-over.

He wanted to see if the boy had been using some kind of underhanded method to advance.

But after watching closely

Damn it!

Not only was the kid not cheating, his foundation was terrifyingly solid!

Meanwhile, on Gran's side

Ever since arriving in the perilous world of Dragon Ball, Gran had been desperate to grow stronger. He had pushed himself to the brink.

He hadn't realized that over three years of relentless training had brought his mind and body to the edge of collapse.

If Whis hadn't warned him, his martial path might've developed irreversible flaws.

Thankfully, after a full month of rest, both his body and mind had finally recovered.

Now, Gran felt as though he were floating in a warm, tranquil sea of light.

In his mind, the words of the Turtle School resurfaced:

Train well. Study well. Eat well. Rest well.

Cultivation was never something to be rushed.

To chase power blindly was to lose one's balance

True mastery lay in the harmony of work and rest.

With that realization, his mind cleared.

Crack!

A sharp sound echoed within him, as if a barrier had shattered.

Hum!

A powerful surge of energy exploded from Gran's body!

"What's going on?!" Shin gasped.

Though Gran remained in his base form, Shin could feel his energy climbing—stronger than ever before.

"He's broken through his bottleneck!" Beerus exclaimed, unable to hide his excitement.

Two years ago, Gran's power level had reached a billion, but due to that bottleneck, he had been stuck there ever since.

"I thought he'd be stuck at that threshold for a long time… Who knew all it'd take was a nap to shatter it!"

Whis smiled fondly at the boy. "It seems his body and mind had been stretched far too tight. A single moment of release was all he needed."

Whirrr!

Gran's aura continued to swell.

One billion…

1.1 billion…

1.2 billion!

Finally, his power stabilized. The leap wasn't massive, but for Gran, breaking the bottleneck itself was everything.

Only by doing so could his strength continue to grow unhindered.

"Vados!"

Champa suddenly spoke up.

She blinked. "What is it now?"

"You got any sacks on you?"

"…Excuse me?"

"This kid's talent is ridiculous! Don't you want to take him?" Champa's eyes gleamed hungrily. He genuinely looked like he was about to stuff Gran into a bag and run off.

Vados: "…"

Was her God of Destruction insane?

He couldn't even beat Beerus when all eleven Gods of Destruction ganged up on him back then—and now he wanted to kidnap Beerus's disciple right in front of him?!

As Vados stared at her hopeless brother

Whoosh!

Gran's aura suddenly dispersed, and he slowly opened his eyes.

"So Lord Beerus was right… Breaking through a bottleneck involves so many factors. Sometimes, all it takes is a good mood."

Gran sat up from his lounge chair, looked at his small hands, and couldn't help but grin.

"Sleeping my way into a breakthrough… kinda feels amazing."

He hadn't felt this light in ages. The sensation was almost… magical.

"Lord Beerus, Whis—my bottleneck, I—"

Just as he looked up to share the good news—

He froze.

Because standing nearby was… a chubby, cat-like god with a round belly, and a tall, poised woman with a high ponytail, halo, and staff

Wait a second.

Gran's eyes widened.

Wasn't that Champa and Vados… from Universe 6?!

Why were they here?!

"Hey, kid," Champa grinned, leaning in close. "What color of sack do you like best?"

"..."
