It was almost strange how a simple suggestion from Elric could shift the direction of Verona's morning. One moment, she was still half caught in their garden stroll, her mind replaying the warmth of his hand at her back as if it had been placed there only seconds ago. And then, after a quiet breath, he angled his head toward a path slightly hidden by climbing roses and said, almost offhandedly, "Come with me. There's something I want you to see."
