Chapter 4 - a new hero is born part 4

Karrar: "Glacior… please… let me transform now."

Glacior: "Are you crazy? You're not strong enough to defeat that ogre."

Karrar: "I can't just let my friend die. Please, let me use your powers. I don't need to defeat the ogre completely — I just want to stop him from killing Murtadha, then I'll try to escape."

Glacior: "…Alright."

Karrar hides for a moment and transforms. His eyes glow blue. His arms become dragon-like, covered in scales with claws, and his legs transform as well. Fangs appear in his mouth.

He then steps out to face the ogre.

Karrar: "Stop! I've appeared. Now let the young man go!"

The ogre smirks and throws Murtadha to the ground, then returns him safely to his family.

Ogre: "Finally, you've shown yourself, Glacior. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time. Drakth told me that if a dragon didn't merge with a strong body, he couldn't use his full power. And it seems you merged with a weak body. Killing you will be easy."

Karrar and the ogre charge at each other.

Karrar lands multiple punches and kicks, hurting the ogre.

Karrar: "This is amazing! I never expected I'd get to fight someone bigger than me."

Ogre: "Fight? Don't get cocky, boy."

The ogre grabs Karrar and hurls him into the mall. Karrar crashes into a wall, and everyone in the mall panics and flees. The ogre enters and continues attacking. He throws Karrar down and punches him hard in the face.

Karrar uses ice on the ogre's face, freezing it. The ogre steps back.

Karrar stands up and says: "I've always hated that six-pack view," then slashes the ogre's abdomen with his claws.

The ogre breaks the ice on his face and punches Karrar, sending him crashing into another wall.

Glacior: "Karrar… he's much stronger than you. Each punch sends you flying ten meters. We need to escape or we'll die. You saved your friend — there's no need to continue fighting."

Karrar (thinking): No, I have a plan.

The ogre swings his axe at Karrar, but Karrar dodges, causing the ogre to smash one of the mall walls.

Karrar jumps to another wall and taunts the ogre:

Karrar: "Glacior told me about you and how you failed your evil plans in Redhar. Tell me — how does it feel to see one of your goals ruined?"

The ogre, enraged, swings his axe again. Karrar dodges, breaking another wall. He repeats this, destroying the structural walls of the mall until the entire building nearly collapses on both of them.

The ogre realizes the situation and tries to escape, but Karrar freezes the ground, causing him to slip and fall.

Karrar then spreads his wings, flies out of the mall, and all the debris falls onto the ogre.

Karrar lands safely and transforms back into his human form.

Glacior: "That was amazing!! I mean, you almost destroyed an entire mall, yet you defeated the ogre without hurting anyone — and all while using only part of my powers."

Karrar: "Yes, but don't forget — all of this happened because you allowed me to use your powers. I think we make a great team."

Meanwhile, Hanzo sips hot coffee in a café and talks with the owner:

Hanzo: "So… in your country, you call a man by his son's name? Like if a man has a son named Muhammad, you call him Abu Muhammad, right?"

Café Owner: "Correct. Even if he doesn't have a son, we give him a name ourselves. It's a common tradition here."

Hanzo: "Hmm… interesting. By the way, the coffee is excellent."

Café Owner: "Thank you. I was afraid you wouldn't like it since you're not human."

Hanzo: "Speaking of that, I'm a bit surprised you accepted my appearance and the fact that I'm from another world — and you even believed my story."

Café Owner: "Honestly, with all the recent craziness, nothing surprises me anymore. If aliens invaded tomorrow, I wouldn't be shocked… but I was surprised that you politely ordered coffee and even paid for it. I expected you to threaten me with your swords."

Hanzo: "Sometimes I like to handle things simply and calmly."

Suddenly, a news report on TV shows the fight between Karrar and the ogre, mentioning the location.

Hanzo: "Alright… that's my cue."

He bids farewell to the café owner and heads to chase Karrar.

---

Meanwhile, at the destroyed mall, the ogre emerges from the rubble, furious and eager to continue his fight with Karrar.

Back to Karrar, walking and talking with Glacior:

Karrar (thinking): "Question — if you merge with Jabbar, what full power will you be able to use?"

Glacior: "There are several abilities I'll gain, like high-frequency sound waves. But the most important is that I can turn the merged body into a giant dragon — my full form."

Karrar (thinking): "Wow… so if I train and become as strong as Jabbar, does that mean I could use your full power?"

Glacior: "…Yes, but it will take a long time. And you want to get rid of me, right?"

Karrar (thinking): "…Yes."

Glacior: "By the way, I'm hungry. Can we stop to get some food?"

Karrar (thinking): I'm afraid you'll make me spit the food out like last time.

Glacior: "No, I promise I won't do that again. Even if I don't like the food, the important thing is that it fills my hunger."

Karrar stops at a falafel stand, buys a wrap, and eats it.

Karrar (thinking): "So… what do you think?"

Glacior: "Delicious. Much better than that soup at your house."

Suddenly, a house catches fire, and Karrar notices it.

Glacior: "I'm sure people will handle it."

Karrar (thinking): "..."

Glacior: "We need to get to Jabbar's house. We've already wasted too much time at the garbage dump, fighting the ogre, and eating falafel."

Karrar (thinking): "..."

Glacior sighs: "Alright, as you wish."

Karrar transforms and uses his icy breath to put out the fire. He rescues a woman from the house, but instead of thanking him, she screams, "Monster!" and runs away.

Glacior: "I really don't know how you do it… these people don't like you. In Redhar, one reason I kept going as a hero was because people loved and appreciated me. Here, everyone thinks you're just a monster."

Karrar: "Well… I don't want to prove them right."

Karrar hides to revert to his human form, but suddenly hears clapping. He turns and sees Hanzo applauding.

Hanzo: "Hello Glacior… and… I don't care what the name of the person you merged with is. Most people I've met in this world are boring — except the café owner, he was nice. Anyway, I saw you put out the fire in that house. Heroic. Unfortunately, it will be your last."

Hanzo draws his katana swords.

Karrar (thinking): Another friend of yours?

Glacior: "Yes. Be careful — he's fast. You can block his sword with your arm scales."

Karrar prepares for battle.

Hanzo: "I hope you actually taught the boy a few moves, because I want this fight to be exciting."

Hanzo attacks with multiple strikes.

Karrar tries to block with his scales, but Hanzo is too fast and cuts his chest.

Karrar uses ice on Hanzo, but Hanzo dodges.

Karrar freezes everything except Hanzo, who then kicks him away.

Hanzo: "Unfortunately, your performance was disappointing. Seems you made the wrong choice, Glacior."

Hanzo tries to stab Karrar in the heart, but suddenly the ogre appears and strikes Hanzo.

Ogre: "Stay away from him! The honor of killing Glacior will be mine alone!"

Hanzo: "Still alive? I thought the building debris would've killed you."

Ogre: "I won't die until I kill Glacior."

A fight breaks out between Hanzo and the ogre.

Karrar uses the opportunity to escape.

Glacior: "This is the first time I've been happy to see that ogre in my life."

Karrar continues until he reaches Jabbar's house. Finally.

Karrar (thinking): Alright, we're here. Quickly — go merge with Jabbar. You have to deal with Hanzo and the ogre.

Glacior: "…"

Karrar: "What?"

Glacior: "Nothing… I just want to apologize again for all the trouble I caused you."

Karrar: "It's okay. Honestly, the time with you hasn't been that bad. Now it's time to say goodbye."

Glacior: "Right… I wish you a happy life, Karrar. Goodbye."

Glacior exits Karrar's body and heads to Jabbar's house.

But… before merging with Jabbar, Glacior glances through the window and is shocked by what he sees.

He sees Jabbar hitting his wife and daughter, yelling at them, treating them like servants or lesser beings.

Glacior pauses to think and makes a decision.

He returns to Karrar — his spirit cannot stay without a body for long, so he must merge with Karrar again. And he does.

Karrar (thinking): "Glacior! What did you do? That was supposed to be your last merge!"

Glacior: "Karrar, listen… throughout this journey, all I thought about was power. I only wanted to find a strong man to merge with so I could use my full power, but I ignored something important… A hero isn't just about strength. What's the use of being powerful if someone uses their power for evil? A hero must have goodness, courage, and a pure heart. All of which I didn't find in Jabbar… but I found in you."

Karrar: "What are you trying to say?"

Glacior: "I'm offering you a deal. Throughout this journey, I forced you to do things you didn't want, but now I give you complete freedom to accept or refuse… What do you think about becoming a superhero? You have all the qualities of a hero. You rescued your friend even though the situation was dangerous. You saved that woman from the fire even though she saw you as a monster. You even used my incomplete powers intelligently to defeat the ogre. I'm sure you could defeat Hanzo too. So, what do you think? I'll give you superpowers, and you can train to master my full power later."

Karrar (thinking): "…All my life, I've seen bad things happen — on TV or in the streets. I always wished I could stop them but I couldn't because I was just an ordinary boy… But with you, I felt I had value. Saving people made me feel alive. I feel like you complete me. You complete my missing side. So… yes, I accept."

Glacior: "Are you sure? I don't want to force you. Remember, if you accept, it means you'll have to face Hanzo, the ogre, and Dr. Nirvan."

Karrar smiles and replies: "Glacior… after all the madness we went through together, fighting three powerful enemies seems like a reasonable move to me."

Meanwhile, Hanzo and the ogre continue fighting, when a group of mechanical spheres appears and stops them.

One of the spheres contains a voice recorder, and Dr. Nirvan speaks through it:

Dr. Nirvan: "I'm really tired of your incompetence. Do you really prefer wasting time fighting each other and letting Glacior escape? I told you from the start we should work together since we have the traits of an excellent team. But nooo… pride and arrogance had to control your actions, even if it ruined the mission."

The ogre and Hanzo feel ashamed and begin to reconsider Dr. Nirvan's words.

Hanzo: "You're right. We must work together to capture Glacior. Do you have a plan?"

Dr. Nirvan smiles and says: "Yes."
