Blanche's POV
I watched as Vincent saw Dorian getting rowdy, so he quickly ducked down, slapped a hand over the kid's mouth, and shushed him.
Dorian caught on immediately and nodded.
Vincent let go and ruffled Dorian's hair. "When I get my act together, I'll take you to haunted houses. Not just one—every single one out there."
Dorian shot him a skeptical look. "Mr. Aarav, you're all talk."
Vincent pressed his palms together, giving them a little shake. "Please, trust me."
Dorian's big eyes rolled around as he thought it over. After a beat, he shrugged. "Fine, whatever."
Then Dorian blurted out, "But Mr. Aarav, Camila's scary as hell. I want to be friends with her, but I can't even work up the nerve to say hi."
I could see Vincent understood that Dorian was intimidated by Camila. I knew that beneath Camila's tough exterior, she was actually a sweet, well-behaved kid.
