Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 - Come Find Me Personally

I naturally didn't know that I had become the target of the Larry Martin family's interest.

For me now, I just wanted to cultivate in peace and then head to Silverwood to kill the man standing at the peak.

After leaving Charity Hall, I intended to take a taxi, but perhaps due to peak hours, I waited a long time without seeing a single car.

"Forget it, I'll run back, it's not far to the apartment."

I put on the hood of my sweatshirt and started running, my steps incredibly steady.

If anyone noticed, they would surely see a faint flow of air beneath my feet.

Running all the way, I noticed that Brooksdale had changed quite a bit from five years ago.

The Golden Wheat Garden cake shop at the corner of Greenwood Street was gone, and now it's a Little Milk Tea.

I remembered my mother often taking me there for cake, which was the time I cherished the most.

"Time flies, it'll soon be my parents' memorial day again..."

Suddenly, my eyes narrowed, and a playful smile formed at the corner of my mouth.

Someone was following me!

Courting death!

I quickened my pace and soon reached an alleyway, disappearing without a trace.

Seconds later, a man wearing a baseball cap also appeared in the alley, looking around with some surprise.

"Lost him? No way, this is obviously a dead end, where could that guy have gone?"

Before he finished speaking, a shadow descended from the sky!

Without giving the other party a chance to react, a pair of large hands directly clutched his throat, lifting him up!

"Boom!"

The large hand mercilessly slammed his body against the wall!

With just this simple action, the man in the baseball cap felt as if all his internal organs had been shattered.

He was horrified, feeling completely immobilized, as if suppressed!

Using all his strength to break free, he found that David's arm was like a stone, impossible to escape.

Due to severe hypoxia, his face turned red, then blue, his pupils full of blood vessels, and the veins on his neck protruded grotesquely, as he gradually lost consciousness, just a step away from the gates of hell.

Just when he thought he was doomed, I released my grip and tossed him to the ground!

"Who sent you? Larry Martin?"

This was the only person I could think of. After all, I had just exposed my strength, and it made sense for the other party to send someone to investigate me.

The man in the baseball cap gasped, feeling the fresh air like never before in his life.

After a moment of recovery, he looked at me, his eyes filled with terror.

The man in front of him was terrifying; in those few seconds, he felt like he was marked by the God of Death.

Hurriedly, he pulled out a photo from his pocket and carefully handed it to me, "Big brother... I... I really didn't mean to, the whole of Brooksdale is looking for you, both openly and secretly. If anyone finds you, there's a million bounty. I was just tempted temporarily to follow you, please don't kill me, I have elderly parents and young children..."

I took the photo, glanced at it, and confirmed it was indeed me.

The whole of Brooksdale was looking for me?

My eyes darkened, could it be that someone in Brooksdale had discovered I wasn't dead?

Or was it that the man from Silverwood was here to utterly eliminate me?

If that's the case, that would be for the best.

For one day, I would tell everyone in Brooksdale that David Johnson had returned!

"Do you know who's behind the bounty?" I questioned.

The man in the baseball cap didn't know why, but he felt a peculiar atmosphere enveloping him, as if lying once meant certain death!

"It's the Young family! Samuel Thompson! I really don't know anything else... And recently, I've heard that Samuel Thompson's forces have become even more powerful. He's supposedly accessed all of Brooksdale's surveillance to find you..."

I suddenly realized.

I had given Samuel Thompson three days to live, and without my personally prepared elixir in those three days, Samuel would surely die!

And only someone on the brink of death would spare no effort to find me.

As for whether to save Samuel Thompson, I didn't have a saint's heart; it all depended on my mood!

"Go tell Samuel Thompson that if he wants to live, he should stop playing such tricks and come find me personally!"

This statement contained a hint of True Qi, and to the man in the baseball cap, it was like rolling thunder. By the time he realized it, I had already disappeared.

...

Maple Creek, Soaring Eagle Bay villa area. The Young family.

Samuel Thompson paced back and forth in the hall, dressed in a Hall suit, his brows furrowed, having lost the vigor of the past.

Samuel was originally a newspaper editor, who, in his youth, seized the wave of reform and opening up, resigned, and started a factory, spending thirty years creating the behemoth that is the Summit Group! In Brooksdale, he was a renowned upper-class figure, frequently attending major government meetings and charity galas.

Yet at this moment, this upper-class figure was extremely distraught!

For he had only one day left to live!

If, within one day, he couldn't find that Divine Doctor, his life and everything he created would be destroyed!

In these two days, he hadn't slept a wink, mobilizing all the resources at his disposal to search for the Divine Doctor!

But for some reason, it was all in vain!

This Divine Doctor seemed to have appeared out of thin air.

All he knew was that this Divine Doctor was named David Johnson!

He went to the Brooksdale Police Station, pulled all the information on men named David Johnson, but none matched!

He even stationed dozens of people at Central Park, where Hannah Young first encountered David!

Still no news!

This David seemed like a joke the heavens played on him!

Given only three days to live, a glimmer of hope, but followed by disappointment!

Beside him, Samuel's mother anxiously asked, "Samuel, could that Divine Doctor David have left Brooksdale? Otherwise, how could there be no news?"

Samuel stopped his pacing, tightly clenching his fists, feeling somewhat irritable, "I have people guarding all of Brooksdale's stations and entrances. Logically, it should be impossible for him to leave Brooksdale. If there's still no news, I'll have to send people to search house to house, even if it means turning all of Brooksdale upside down, I must find Divine Doctor David."

At that moment, a phone rang!

Samuel rushed over like an arrow from the string, grabbed the phone, and asked breathlessly, "Is... is there any news?"

His body trembled, reaching the peak of excitement.

"Mr. Thompson, there's news, Divine Doctor David sent a message for you," came the voice on the other end of the line.

"What! Speak up! Are you trying to kill me with suspense?" Samuel almost shouted.

"Divine Doctor David said if you want to live, stop playing such tricks, and come find him personally!"

Hearing these words, Samuel felt a cathartic relief and grabbed another mobile phone from the table.

"Prepare the car, immediately!"

...

The Grandview Apartments.

When I got home, I found Sarah Moore was already up and putting on makeup.

Today, Sarah seemed even more sensual, her silky long hair cascading over her shoulders, wearing a snow-white cropped T-shirt on top and a black leather skirt on the bottom, paired with high heels, making her appear both sexy and feminine.

Her figure was truly among the top among the women I had seen.
