Chapter 99 - Chapter 98: Invitation and Rejection? Aokiji's Back-up Plan

Boom!

One punch!

The ground cracked where it landed.

The man who had just broken into the core ruins fiercely repelled the CP0 members attacking Nico Robin.

"Chief of Staff of the Revolutionary Army!?"

Rob Lucci stared in shock at Sabo, who had come to support Robin. As the second-in-command of the Revolutionary Army, Sabo had long been blacklisted by the World Government.

Lucci wasn't afraid of Sabo's strength—but why was he here? Could it be that the Revolutionary Army had discovered their plan?

Wouldn't the undercover agents embedded for years now risk exposure?

"Twenty CP0 members, plus former Navy Admiral Aokiji… the World Government really goes all out!"

Sabo's focus was on saving Robin; he didn't care much about the enemy lineup.

Still, it was intimidating.

"Yo! Sabo, no matter how many they send, let's fight side by side!"

While Victor restrained Aokiji, he turned to greet Sabo. A hint of shock flashed in Sabo's eyes. Victor's strength terrified him—he could compete with a Navy Admiral-level fighter, and he was younger!

A surge of fighting spirit filled Sabo's heart.

"Alright! Let's fight side by side!"

Sabo smiled brightly, pulling a steel pipe from behind him. Armament Haki surged around his hands and the pipe as he moved, swinging it to attack Rob Lucci and another CP0 member.

Sabo wasn't a Devil Fruit user, but his physical skills were extraordinary. Even within the Revolutionary Army, he excelled, especially with his Dragon Claw Fist.

Even against two CP0 members, Sabo held the upper hand—but Lucci and his partner were far from weak. They could block Sabo's powerful strikes together.

Victor, fighting Aokiji, spread an electromagnetic field with his Observation Haki, keeping tabs on the other battlefields.

Victor estimated Sabo's strength to be similar to Ace's. Physically, Sabo might be a bit stronger, though Ace had the Flame-Flame Fruit advantage. Overall, their combat power was comparable.

Sabo's sudden appearance intensified the battle in the core ruins. Enel, with his overwhelming speed, taunted five enemies with ease.

As for Victor and Aokiji, they were both sea-level powerhouses. Like the duel between Aokiji and Akainu, a decisive victory could take days under fair conditions.

Thanks to Robin's efforts, the thunderclouds above were about to fully cover the core ruins. Once formed, Victor and Enel would have absolute advantage.

Pressure mounted on Aokiji and CP0.

The ten CP0 members maintaining the spider web outside couldn't join the fight. Those inside were entangled by Enel and Sabo.

CP0 was in disarray. Their last resort seemed weak against such a lineup.

Aokiji's expression was unusually serious. He knew that once the thunderclouds formed, it would spell trouble. Even if he didn't lose, he could be at a disadvantage.

He tried to freeze Victor countless times—but failed repeatedly.

Victor refused to dodge in this battle. He directly confronted Aokiji head-on, yet still held his ground.

This proved Victor's strength had reached a level capable of challenging the world's top powerhouses.

A kid who had just appeared in Marineford a few months ago…

"Aokiji! You're one of the few rational men in the Navy—much better than that crazy Red Dog. I believe you left not just because you didn't become an admiral. But once you leave, you leave. If you have nowhere to go, you could consider joining my pirate crew!"

Thunderclouds were forming, and Victor was confident. He needed Aokiji—not just for the mission, but to strengthen his ship. Aokiji on his crew would make the Seven Gods Pirates formidable.

Recruiting Aokiji wouldn't be easy, though.

"Ah la la, Victor… you must be kidding. I'm here to kill you. Even having left the Navy, how could I become a pirate harming people? But you're right—I left to enforce my own justice. I don't fit with the Navy…"

A trace of despair flashed in Aokiji's eyes, but his attacks grew fiercer. The chilling power around him was enough to freeze everything, like an ice god descending to Earth.

"Pirates bring disaster to the people? If you want to stop that, start within! Aokiji, I will make you a crew member on the ship you come to!"

Victor's firm tone only increased Aokiji's resistance.

During the fierce battle, Aokiji's expression darkened. He said coldly,

"Victor! You want to be my captain? Defeat me first before bragging!"

Ice Age!!!

Just as the thunderclouds neared formation, Aokiji unleashed his full power. Leaning down, his palm touched the ground, sending an overwhelming chill that froze the air and ruins around him.

Victor sensed the danger—Aokiji was about to escalate!

At that moment, the system rang:
