In the middle of the night, Liana woke up from her sleep. She felt thirsty and wanted to go to the kitchen for water.
Liana opened her bedroom door, and the first sight she saw was David still awake, sitting on the sofa in her unit living room, working on his laptop. Only a small desk lamp was on, providing soft lighting.
"Sir, are you still here?" Liana asked, assuming David had returned to his unit next door.
David immediately closed his laptop, looking worried.
"You're awake? What's wrong? What hurts?" David asked, his voice low.
"I'm fine, I just woke up to get some water," Liana explained.
"Honestly, I was a little worried about you. So, I thought I'd stay here tonight to watch over you," David explained.
"If you're here, who is with Rey next door?" Liana asked, surprised.
"I made sure Rey was fast asleep. He doesn't have a habit of waking up in the middle of the night," David explained, knowing Rey habits well.
