After reading through all one hundred-plus Monster, Spell, and Trap Cards, Alicia glanced at Aleister behind the desk with a strange look before asking inwardly, "Yuui-san, do you think the Headmaster really wants us to pick that Odd-Eyes Dragon card?"
Yuui took another look at the repeatedly appearing Odd-Eyes Dragon, sighed softly in his heart, and said, "Seems like it."
"Come to think of it, Yuui-san, wasn't Odd-Eyes Dragon one of your cards before?"
"No. Including Odd-Eyes Dragon, none of the four dragons known as the Four Heavenly Dragons were ever my cards."
"Four Heavenly Dragons?" Alicia's eyes widened in surprise before she asked, "Yuui-san, what are the Four Heavenly Dragons? I don't think you've ever mentioned them before."
"There are four dragons that represent the four main summoning methods: Odd-Eyes Dragon represents the basic form, Starving Venom Fusion Dragon represents Fusion, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon represents Synchro, and Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon represents Xyz. Together, they're called the Four Heavenly Dragons."
Yuui explained slowly, but then raised an eyebrow as he looked once more at the Odd-Eyes Dragon.
"Though honestly, I don't really know why these four dragons are supposed to represent those four summoning methods. Based purely on effects, there are plenty of other monsters that could fit that role."
Yuui had seen Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V back in his original world, so he knew exactly which four dragons were being referred to—regardless, that didn't mean he agreed that they were worthy of such a title.
What puzzled him even more was why Odd-Eyes Dragon existed in this world at all. When he crossed over, he hadn't brought this card with him, nor had he ever owned any cards from that series. So this Odd-Eyes Dragon definitely had nothing to do with him.
Could it be that this world naturally had Odd-Eyes Dragon? And if so, did the other Four Heavenly Dragons exist here too?
Sensing Yuui's rare confusion, Alicia hesitated for a moment before asking, "Then… Yuui-san, should we pick Odd-Eyes Dragon?"
Yuui glanced at Aleister—still casually petting his 'cat'—then turned his gaze back to the card. After thinking for a long while, he finally said, "Forget it. Honestly, I have a bad feeling about that card. If we pick it, something unpleasant might happen. Better to leave it."
"Alright, Yuui-san." Alicia nodded obediently, feeling no regret.
She was only mildly curious about Odd-Eyes Dragon anyway—mainly because the Headmaster clearly wanted her to choose it. Nonetheless, that curiosity was worth nothing compared to Yuui-san's advice.
Then Alicia's brows furrowed slightly and asked, "Yuui-san, which five cards should we pick, then? There are so many that fit our HERO Deck."
Yuui's brows also furrowed. She was right… among the hundreds of cards, many matched their HERO Deck perfectly. Several could make their Deck's combos faster and its burst potential stronger. Unfortunately, they could only pick five.
After thinking it over carefully, Yuui pointed at five cards and said softly, "Alicia, let's take these five."
Looking at the ones Yuui indicated, Alicia nodded, then turned to Aleister and said, "Headmaster, I've decided. I choose Goddess of Sweet Revenge, Keeper of Dragon Magic, Phantom of Chaos, Fusion Deployment, and Card of Sanctity!"
Aleister raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure, Alicia? Nothing else you'd rather have?"
As he spoke, he made the hundred-card display scroll again—Odd-Eyes Dragon appearing multiple times as before.
Seeing that, Alicia's mouth twitched a little. She forced a polite smile. "Headmaster, to be honest, I'd love to have all of them… but these five are the ones I want most."
There were other great choices among the Headmaster's collection, ones that fit their HERO Deck better—like Elemental HERO Prisma, Vision HERO Vyon, or Destiny HERO - Drawhand—however, those could be summoned through the Book of Summoning, or even bought later if they saved up.
The five they picked, while not perfect fits for the HERO Deck, would raise its upper limit in strength and versatility, giving them more tactical options during duels. That was why Yuui chose them.
Of course, Card of Sanctity was a must-pick—it was a rare draw card, after all.
Across the table, Aleister's frown softened. With a wave of his hand, the five chosen cards materialized and floated down before Alicia.
"Good. Since you've made your choice, these five are yours."
Alicia's face brightened with joy.
Abruptly, then Aleister's mouth curved into a gentle smile as he added, "Those five will be your official Academy reward. However… this card is my personal gift to you."
He waved his hand again, and under Alicia and Yuui's speechless gazes, Odd-Eyes Dragon solidified and landed in front of them.
Looking at the card, Alicia suddenly felt as though it were some kind of beast waiting to devour her.
Then she turned her gaze toward Aleister… indeed, he had no intention of letting her leave without this card.
Unable to resist, Alicia looked to Yuui for help. Understanding her plea, Yuui nodded and took control of her body.
The air around Alicia shifted instantly. Yuui exhaled slowly, his sharp eyes locking onto Aleister as he asked calmly, "Headmaster, may I ask why you want to give us this card?"
The curve of Aleister's lips deepened noticeably once Yuui took over.
Seeing that expression, it was impossible to deny that he had known of Yuui's presence all along.
Aleister then gently pushed the Odd-Eyes Dragon card toward Alicia—no, toward Yuui—and said softly, "Simple. This card… is bound to you by fate."
