Chapter 35 - Chapter 29: Determination

What the hell!

Looking at the two people opposite him, two names instantly flashed in Naoki's mind—Professor Sada and her son Arven.

What's going on? Isn't Professor Sada already dead? Naoki brainstormed quickly, looking at the little boy beside Professor Sada.

The boy wasn't very old, but from his striking resemblance to Professor Sada, there was undeniably a blood relationship between them.

He is Arven!

So, exactly what time is it now?

Could it be that he hasn't arrived at the beginning of the "Pokemon Scarlet and Violet" game storyline, but rather ten years earlier?

But why would Koraidon flee the Paldea Giant Pit injured, just like in the game's story?

No, now doesn't seem to be the time to discuss this.

Naoki looked toward Professor Sada and Arven waiting for an answer not far away. He nodded, pretending not to know: "And you are?"

Professor Sada stared into his eyes for a while, then shifted her gaze to Koraidon beside him: "I am Professor Sada, and the Pokemon next to you is Koraidon, from a distant ancient past."

"Not long ago, we used certain technology to summon it from that era to here, but after it arrived, it attacked us and fled the research facility."

"Koraidon..." Naoki pondered this information that wasn't in the game.

Professor Sada continued, "However, the primordial and elemental power from the distant past is extremely ferocious, and this power will one day inevitably drive it to attack other Pokemon and humans."

After this Koraidon left, Professor Sada and her husband, Professor Turo, respectively used the Time Machine to summon another Koraidon and a Miraidon from the future.

They lived with these two Pokemon alongside their son Arven for some time.

Initially, everything was fine, but suddenly, one day, Koraidon and Miraidon became violent and attacked other Pokemon.

To prevent more Pokemon from being attacked, Professor Sada and Professor Turo took them back to Zone Zero at the bottom of the Paldea Giant Pit.

At the same time, they began tracking the Koraidon that had escaped Zone Zero, eventually discovering its trace in Porto Marinada Town.

Naoki frowned as he listened.

Koraidon beside him was tense: "Roaaar..."

When Naoki looked at it, Koraidon's tense expression immediately softened.

Seeing this scene, Professor Sada felt a bit surprised and unexpected, but remembering the terrifying images of Koraidon and Miraidon attacking Pokemon and ravaging the land, she continued:

"It seems it has developed feelings for you, but I'm very sorry. The Pokemon summoned from ancient times are fierce and unlike modern Pokemon, we cannot ensure it won't harm you, nor can we ensure it won't harm other Pokemon and humans beside you."

"So, I hope you can return Koraidon to us, and we will take it away from the Paldea Region to where it belongs."

Hearing this, Naoki's heart tightened.

He knew Professor Sada was right; even though Koraidon appeared clumsy and cute in the game, it also had a fiery temper that forced Professor Sada to take it back to Zone Zero.

Logically and emotionally, Professor Sada could reclaim this Koraidon.

But...

Professor Sada took out a specially crafted Poke Ball from her lab coat pocket, preparing to capture this Koraidon and take it back to Zone Zero.

Professor Sada threw the Poke Ball towards Koraidon.

Koraidon, watching the Poke Ball flying towards it, suddenly went berserk.

A terrifying power surged wildly within it.

Koraidon took a step forward, letting out a roar as its massive crimson body charged forth, its Dragon Claw, gleaming with cold light, striking down.

Before anyone could react, the Poke Ball was swatted away.

The red and white Poke Ball was shredded by Koraidon's Dragon Claw, fell to the ground with a crackling sound, and emitted black smoke as it broke.

Then, Koraidon exhibited an aggressive stance towards Professor Sada.

Naoki was startled by Koraidon's sudden movement and hurriedly shouted: "Koraidon!"

At the same time, Little Arven, who seemed unhappy before, stepped in front of Professor Sada: "You're not allowed to hurt her!"

A white light emerged from his pocket and fell to the ground, revealing Mabosstiff's figure.

Koraidon ignored Mabosstiff, stopping immediately upon hearing Naoki's call, and turned back with a grievance to Naoki.

"Roaaar..."

"Koraidon?"

Naoki called tentatively.

And then he saw Koraidon walk over to him, sadly using its large paw to embrace him, as if it were acting cute.

Naoki was slightly startled.

Professor Sada watched this scene with a shocked and bewildered, incredulous expression.

That Koraidon...

Although Naoki didn't understand what happened, he miraculously comprehended Koraidon's intentions at this moment, feeling its emotions.

—It wanted to stay here, it didn't want to leave him.

Memories of the past surged in Naoki's mind, he looked into Koraidon's eyes, and asked: "Will you harm me and other Pokemon?"

Koraidon shook its big head: "Roaaar..."

With Koraidon's promise, Naoki looked at Professor Sada and Arven, saying to them: "Sorry, Professor Sada, I cannot give Koraidon back to you."

Professor Sada was puzzled: "Why? Aren't you afraid it might one day suddenly attack you?"

Naoki shook his head, his heart pure and clear as a mirror: "I trust it, rather than worrying about things that haven't happened, I prefer to believe in my eyes. The Koraidon I now see and understand wouldn't do such things."

Upon hearing these words, Professor Sada paused.

At this moment, she gazed at this "special" Koraidon, suddenly wanting to know what had happened to it after leaving Zone Zero.

Sada had a dream in her heart.

She wanted to see a world where ancient Pokemon and modern Pokemon lived harmoniously together.

So, after reading the Book of Scarlet and Violet, she and her husband ventured into the dangerous Paldea Giant Pit, building an observation station there, and began researching the Time Machine using the Crystal at the deepest point to summon Pokemon from ancient and future times onto this timeline.

However, the Koraidon and Miraidon they summoned displayed a violent side, which left Professor Sada and her husband feeling defeated.

And now... she was witnessing another side of the Pokemon dubbed as "The Winged King" in the Book of Scarlet and Violet.

"If possible, could you tell me about your experiences with this Koraidon?" Professor Sada asked.
