Chapter 1 - stranger...

If you have a power then what did you do?

This story is one of my fictional stories.

---

Yumi Saito is a normal girl with a little imaginary world — the things she can't do in real life, she imagines and becomes happy. She is a middle-class girl. She lives her life normally.

One day, when she was alone in her house, a 20-year-old man came in front of Yumi. She was shocked because the door was locked. Then she asked,

Yumi: "Who are you, and how did you get here?" (in fear)

Then the man replied,

The man: "Oh, don't be afraid, little girl." (smiles)

Yumi: "But how did you get here? Because the door was locked." (hesitantly)

The man: "I will explain everything to you, little girl." (smiles)

"I am Sanzi Yamo," the man said, his voice echoing softly in the room.

"The world beyond your dreams calls me the Demon Monarch, ruler of the Dark Kingdom."

Yumi froze. The air grew heavy like shadows were alive around him.

Sanzi stepped closer, his shadow pooling around Yumi like spilled ink. His crimson eyes caught the faint light, and for a moment, she could see nothing but patient calculation behind them.

"I will give you power," he said softly, almost kindly. "But power is never free. You must use what I give you to hunt the criminals of your world — the ones who spill lies across the streets of your world. Fight them, and your strength will grow."

He paused, letting the words hang in the heavy air.

"If your power increases, I will give you missions beyond other worlds as well — opportunities to step into other realms, to change things you never thought you could. But know this: in your world, no one has ever raised their powers by more than seven percent. No one has even broken that ceiling."

Sanzi smiled — a thin, dangerous curve.

"So, will you accept my offer, Yumi Saito? Will you take this power and become more than you are?"

Yumi felt the room tilt. The choice flashed bright and terrible in her mind — a dark offer, a soul-bound pact with the ruler of shadows. Around them, the shadows seemed to hold their breath.

Yumi stood still, lost in deep thought. Sanzi's words echoed in her mind —

"Will you accept my offer, Yumi Saito?"

Before she could answer, the doorbell suddenly rang.

She jumped, her heart racing. From outside came the sound of her family's voices — they were back home.

Sanzi looked toward the door, then back at her. His red eyes softened a little.

"I will give you some time to think," he said quietly. "A choice like this should not be made in a hurry."

He gave her a small smile — calm but strange — then turned away. In the next second, his body faded into the shadows, and he was gone.

The room felt empty again, as if nothing had even happened.

A moment later, her family came in — her mother calling her name, her little brother laughing.

Yumi tried to act normal, helping with dinner, smiling at their stories.

But inside, she couldn't stop thinking about him —

the man who ruled the Dark Kingdom.

The one who had offered her a power no one had ever mastered.

Days passed, but she couldn't forget his voice or his eyes.

A few days later, the night was quiet. Yumi sat by the window again, staring at the sky, when suddenly the room's lights flickered.

The air turned cold — and she knew.

He was back.
