Chapter 36 - 36

Chapter 36 How Can You So Baselessly Slander My Innocence?

"It's for those young ladies dancing in black lace bras!" Mo Fei added, twisting the knife.

Mo Youqian: "..."

Kid, you're going to get beaten to death if you go out like this, you know?

You rebellious disciple, don't you dare be so unfilial just because your master favors you!

Beware, I, your master, might just clean house!

Mo Youqian glared at Mo Fei.

"Oh, right, Old Mo, what was that parchment you found on that Old Taoist? Can I see it?" Mo Fei smiled and asked.

After Mo Youqian killed that limping Taoist, the sharp-eyed Mo Fei saw Mo Youqian find a parchment on the Taoist and tuck it into his robes.

"That thing? It's a cultivation manual from a crooked sect. Who knows where he got it from, maybe from digging up an Ancient Tomb or something!" Mo Youqian said casually, "It's actually a pretty good Taoist method, but it's a shame he went down the wrong path. If he had cultivated honestly, I wouldn't have bothered him for no reason, but he actually dared to kill people wantonly right under my nose. I couldn't just ignore that!"

"A cultivation manual?" Mo Fei's eyes lit up, and he asked curiously, "Can I see it?"

"You want to see it?" Mo Youqian took the manual from his robes and held it in front of Mo Fei. Just as Mo Fei, barely concealing his excitement, reached out to take it, Mo Youqian suddenly pulled it back, looking at the frowning Mo Fei with an ambiguous smile: "But I have a condition!"

"What condition?" Mo Fei immediately became wary.

"Kowtow and acknowledge me as your master, become my disciple, and I'll give it to you directly!" Mo Youqian, thinking he had Mo Fei by the short hairs, shook the parchment triumphantly and said.

"Then I'll pass!" Mo Fei decisively refused.

"Why?" Mo Youqian was greatly disappointed.

"Firstly, you've pulled a con before, you're too perverted. If it gets out that I'm your disciple, what will become of my image? Secondly, I have my doubts about your sexual orientation; you've been staring at Qin Feng lustfully for a long time, so I'd rather prioritize my own virtue!" Mo Fei shrugged.

Mo Youqian gritted his teeth, what the hell is "prioritizing my own virtue"? He was just kidding with that junior, alright?

Even though Mo Fei chose to refuse Mo Youqian's deal, Mindy watched with curiosity how reluctant Mo Fei was, she had never seen Mo Fei crave something so much—

She quietly noted where Mo Youqian put the parchment.

Since my brother wants it so much, then... After leaving James's Villa, it was already very late. By the time Mo Fei and his group arrived at Seventh Uncle's Villa, New York had already entered the night. However, Seventh Uncle, wanting to get news of the killer as soon as possible, had kept his Villa brightly lit around the clock for these past seven days.

Just as they stopped the car, Mo Fei and his group ran into the Chinatown Chinese-American female police officer they had seen in front of his medical clinic a few days ago—Chen Ying!

"Officer Chen, what a coincidence, we meet again." Mo Fei greeted her with a smile.

"Hello, you are..." Mo Fei's familiar tone made Chen Ying fall into recollection. Looking at Mo Fei, he seemed a bit familiar yet very unfamiliar; she had clearly forgotten where she had met Mo Fei.

Mo Fei: "..."

However, when Chen Ying noticed Mindy, she suddenly realized: "I remember now, you're the owner of that medical clinic from that day, right?"

Alright, I'm just someone who can only gain a little presence by relying on his sister!

Don't cry!

Mo Fei looked up at the sky, holding back his hot tears.

"You said you caught the killer of Seventh Uncle's grandson, where is he?" Chen Ying asked seriously.

On the way, Qin Feng and Tang Ren had already informed Seventh Uncle.

Due to the very special nature of Seventh Uncle's case, the police had been closely monitoring it.

"He's in the car!"

James was kicked out of the car door by Tang Ren.

"Hey! Laura." James smiled awkwardly.

"James, why is it you?" Chen Ying was greatly startled.

Because James was an old friend of hers, and their relationship was a bit ambiguous. After all, James was somewhat handsome and his family wealth was exceptionally abundant, tens of millions of U.S. dollars.

"You didn't catch the wrong person, did you?" Chen Ying looked seriously at Tang Ren and Mo Fei.

"No mistake, it's this kid!" Tang Ren, in front of Chen Ying, kicked James, making him stumble again: "If you don't believe me, ask him yourself."

"Uh... well, I didn't kill anyone..."

"But it's as good as you killing him!" Tang Ren snorted.

James's eyes widened as he said, "How can you so baselessly slander my innocence..." "What innocence? I saw those things in your office this afternoon, and then you let us hang him and beat him." James's face flushed, veins bulging on his forehead, as he argued, "Collecting information can't be considered murder... murder!... Can a Doctor's actions be considered murder?" Then came a string of incomprehensible words, like "I just helped him collect some information" and "As a Doctor, I only save lives, I never kill," which made everyone burst into laughter.

After a brief exchange of pleasantries with Officer Chen Ying, Mo Fei and the others walked inside with James and the Old Taoist's corpse.

"Who is that person in the Taoist robe?" Chen Ying asked.

"He's someone we specially invited to study Feng Shui. He was playing hide-and-seek when we arrested James, bumped into a wall, and fainted. You don't need to worry about this." Mo Fei spoke off the cuff.

Entering the main hall, led by a servant, Mo Fei soon met the famous godfather of Chinatown—Seventh Uncle.

It's just that Seventh Uncle was truly old, having long lost the imposing aura of a gang godfather.

His grizzled hair was neatly combed, he wore simple clothing, just a deep blue Tang suit, his eyes were filled with a turbid haze, his body was withered, and he exuded a strong sense of deathly stillness.

He was just an ordinary old man on the verge of death.

At Mo Fei's request, Chen Ying and the other NYPD officers were asked to leave, and then Mo Fei began to tell his story.

"You mean this evil cultivating Taoist killed my grandson?" After listening to Mo Fei's story, Seventh Uncle was silent for a moment, then pointed at the Old Taoist's corpse and said.

"It's hard to believe, but this is the truth." Mo Fei said helplessly, "If you don't believe me, Old Man, interrogate James carefully!"

"However, James is very dishonest; he deceived us several times. He said he didn't personally participate in any murder, but we don't know who exactly did it. But the killer is definitely one of the two of them."

Mo Fei pointed at James.

James knelt on the ground and honestly recounted the entire story from beginning to end, including how he met the Taoist, how he was deceived and threatened by the Taoist into collecting information for him, and finally, how the Taoist killed someone without his knowledge, and then Mo Fei and others came to their door and killed the Taoist.

Anyway, in his story, he was a pure, flower-like character.
