Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 Torn Away From Me

Vivian's POV

Everything unfolded in a blur of violence.

Abby's fingers twisted into my hair with vicious intent, yanking my head back until I screamed from the pain shooting across my scalp.

"You worthless little bitch!" she shrieked, her nails digging into my skin until I felt warm blood trickling down. "You think you can hit me? Think you're something special?"

"Stop!" I gasped, clawing at her hands desperately. But her grip was like iron, her fingernails cutting deeper into my scalp with each struggle. The pain was excruciating.

I never had a prayer against her rage.

Abby drove my head straight into the wall.

The impact sent shockwaves of agony through my skull, white-hot pain exploding behind my eyes. I couldn't breathe for a moment, the world spinning dangerously around me.

"You were always worthless," she hissed against my ear, grinding my face harder against the rough surface. "Mother should have gotten rid of you years ago."
