Liam's POV
Blood streaked down from Vivian's nostril and across her forehead. When I looked closer at her dark hair, I could see crimson staining the strands.
The metallic scent of her blood would stay with me for weeks.
She lay motionless against my chest, her face pressed into my shirt, each breath coming too shallow and weak. I cradled her as if she might shatter at any moment, because if I let myself think about what they did to her, I would lose control completely.
And someone would die tonight.
What the fuck had they done to my girl?
I had come back from the office expecting to find Vivian resting in the guest room, waiting for me to return. Instead, I found only Salena pacing the empty house.
She told me she couldn't stop Vivian from leaving. Said the girl had seemed upset about something and just walked right past her.
The second those words left Salena's mouth, I knew exactly where Vivian had gone.
