Chapter 1 - Are You the Monster?

Once, in a land far, far, far, far, far, far, far away — a place pure from sin, filled with peace and harmony — there lived a curious traveller.

He had one question: Where can I find the Monster?

And so, he began his journey to discover it.

On his way, he met a knight. "Are you the Monster?" he asked.

The knight was caught off guard by the traveller's strange question. After thinking for a moment, he replied,

"No, I am not the Monster. Perhaps you should search in the forest."

The traveller nodded and headed towards the dark forest.

Inside the forest, he found an adventurer. "Are you the Monster?" he asked again.

The adventurer, too, was surprised by the traveller's strange question. After a moment of thought, he said, "No, I am not the Monster. Maybe you'll find it on the mountain."

The traveller nodded and thus reached the mountain. He struggled hard to climb it and after a long and difficult journey, he was finally able to reach to the top — where a beautiful garden awaited him.

There, among the flowers, he met a snake. "Are you the Monster?" the traveller asked.

The snake chuckled almost as he wasn't expecting that question to be asked about so casually. "I know where you can find the Monster." The serpent flicking its tongue. "Just follow the flowing river until you reach the lake of pure water."

The snake then offered him a fruit. The traveller accepted it and then begin to follow the long, beautiful river until he reached the lake.

All around him were thick trees, grass, and countless beautiful plants. The lake was fresh — almost mirror-like.

He took a bite of the fruit given to him by the snake. The bitter taste of that fruit filled his mouth and made him thirsty.

As he reached for the water, he saw his own reflection.

What he saw was not the face of a human, nor that of an angel. It was the face of a Monster.

The snake then appeared beside him and asked softly, "Are you the Monster?"

This story is not a true story — for there is no land free from sin that lives in peace and harmony.

But if there ever was such a land... what happened there?
