Chapter 17 - Overdoing It

Looking at the Honkai Beast in front of her, Bella had a flash of inspiration.

"That's right, even though I don't know how to use my own abilities,"

"But, I'm a Dragon! My strength is maxed out."

"Moreover, as a beautiful girl who has lived alone in the wilderness for many years, it shouldn't be a problem to be a little stronger, right?"

Bella seemed to have found a way to deal with the Honkai Beast in front of her.

She decided to act immediately, recalling the force generation methods of Sanda and ancient martial arts from her previous life.

Bella slightly bent her knees, assumed a horse stance, leaned her body slightly, clenched her right hand into a fist, pulled it back, and then suddenly unleashed it, the entire movement flowing smoothly.

"Hmph!"

Bella's fist struck the Honkai Beast's body as fast as lightning.

The moment Bella's fist connected with the Honkai Beast, the beast's body caved in where it was hit, bulged out from its back, and then instantly exploded.

The remaining force, undiminished, surged skyward like a wave of energy.

However, just as the energy was about to reach the edge of the platform, the spires on the platform's edge suddenly lit up, shooting out beams of light from above them. These beams intertwined to form a hemispherical light shield that enveloped the entire platform.

The energy that was heading skyward directly struck the light shield, causing ripples of light to emanate from the impact point, and the energy was completely blocked by the shield.

After blocking the energy, the lit spires dimmed again, and the light shield disappeared, returning the platform to its original state.

Looking at everything that had just happened, Himeko, Kiana, and the others all widened their eyes.

Kiana's eyes were wide, and her small mouth was slightly agape.

She didn't even seem to notice a piece of Honkai Beast wing debris, which was turning into data and dissipating, that had fallen onto her head at some point.

Even the usually expressionless Bronya.

Well, although she remained expressionless, her slightly parted lips showed that her inner world was not calm at this moment.

And the instigator of all this.

Bella looked at the Honkai Beast that had been shattered into pieces by her punch and was now dissipating into data, as well as the shocked expressions on Kiana and the others' faces not far away.

"Uh, it seems I overdid it."

Bella hadn't expected her physical strength alone to be so immense, nor had she anticipated that this Ranger class Honkai Beast would be so fragile, exploding from a single punch.

It seemed her method of gauging strength by the intensity of the Honkai energy within her was flawed; this strike of hers had definitely reached the strength of an A-rank Valkyrie.

It appeared that although the concentration of Honkai energy in her body had decreased due to her severe injuries, its impact on her physical strength seemed minimal.

Moreover, due to her previous soul fusion, the Honkai energy concentration in her body had already reached the peak strength of a B-Rank Valkyrie, and her recent human-form strike had reached A-rank strength.

This was still while in human form, with her strength reduced.

So, doesn't that mean,

If she were to transform into her Dragon form, coupled with her inherent physical strength, she could probably reach S-Rank?

Then couldn't she just make an early escape?

But Bella thought about it carefully and still felt it wouldn't work; she couldn't escape yet.

After all, Bella was only estimating that she might have reached S-Rank Valkyrie strength; whether she actually had was still debatable.

But Theresa was a genuine S-Rank Valkyrie; Bella had only instantly killed this Diving-class Honkai Beast with one strike, but on that day, Theresa had instantly killed the even stronger Saint-class Honkai Beast with one strike.

She had also hidden herself very well; Theresa and the others hadn't suspected her identity so far.

There was no need to worry about safety either; staying at St. Freya for now was fine.

Furthermore.

The matter of the Herrscher of the Void hasn't been resolved yet.

Even if Bella successfully escaped from St. Freya and lived the retired, leisurely life she desired.

But suddenly one day, that Herrscher of the Void might suddenly appear before her and shout, "Bella! Submit to me!"

Ugh, perhaps it's better to first see if she can defuse this bomb, which could explode at any time, before leaving.

Anyway, Bella felt that life at St. Freya was quite good right now.

No need to work, no bothersome worries, and delicious food to eat; it was very leisurely.

"Uh, how is this somewhat similar to the retired life I imagined?"

Bella fell into contemplation.

"No, no, now is not the time to think about these things. Since I've decided to stay."

Then the most important question now is.

Will her inhuman strength arouse suspicion from Theresa and the others?

She subtly glanced at Theresa and Himeko, but the two seemed only greatly surprised, not overly strange.

As for Kiana and the others…

"Bella, you're too amazing. You all think so too, right?" Kiana pointed to the scattered wreckage in front of them, then turned to Raiden Mei and the other two, asking with a hint of surprise in her tone.

Raiden Mei and Bronya also nodded, indicating their agreement with Kiana's view.

Although Fu Hua also nodded, something seemed to flash in her eyes.

Seeing that no one seemed to have noticed anything, Bella breathed a sigh of relief, her tone a little embarrassed:

"I don't know why this happened; maybe I just used too much force."

"Bronya thinks Bella, you must have subconsciously used Honkai energy to strengthen your body during the attack, which allowed you to exert such powerful strength. After all, a certain musclehead does the same."

Upon hearing Bronya's words, Kiana didn't refute this time, scratching her head:

"Although I disagree with Bronya calling me a musclehead, I can't refute anything else, after all, my fighting style was taught to me by my dad."

After speaking, Kiana raised her fist and waved it, quite proudly:

"Dad used to often tell me, there's nothing that a punch can't solve. If there is, then punch it again."

"Siegfried! What have you been teaching Kiana?!" Theresa internally ranted beside them.

But that's not the most important thing right now; what's important is Bella...

She'll discuss it with Himeko later.

Theresa looked at Bella, her expression slightly hardened.

"Alright, alright, the test isn't over yet." Himeko clapped her hands, interrupting everyone's thoughts.

After getting everyone's attention back, Himeko nodded in satisfaction and looked at Bella:

"Bella, you probably don't know how to control the Honkai energy within you to use your abilities, do you?"

Bella nodded upon hearing this.

"This is also my oversight. Because Valkyries who join the academy are trained beforehand, I was a bit prejudiced, especially since Bella, you were alone in Siberia before."

Himeko seemed a little annoyed as she patted her head.

"It's okay, I'll teach you now."

"Now?"

Bella was a little surprised. Was this thing really that easy to learn?
