Chapter 1 - Reunion after ten years

In a corner of a newly opened, high-end Western restaurant in the city center, Li Zhifeng licked his parched lips, his body slightly hunched. He nervously rubbed his hands between his legs.

The restaurant was so popular that it was completely full, with people still waiting in line. The noisy chatter and the clatter of cutlery against plates made Li Zhifeng's head buzz.

He'd prepared his lines meticulously beforehand, such as, "It's been a while, Chenyu. I came back to Lingdong last month. How have you been?"

Or, "Chenyu, it's been a long time. I just graduated with my doctorate this year, and I've found a job back in Lingdong."

Or even, "Chenyu, it's been ten years since we last met. I've missed you. I just wanted to take you out for dinner today, nothing more…"

But when he actually saw her, Li Zhifeng's tongue felt tied in knots. He stammered, unable to get a coherent sentence out. His eyes darted around, still seemingly in disbelief. Sitting across from him was a woman with long, flowing hair, a flawless oval face resting on her delicate hands, exquisite makeup, and fashionable, luxurious clothes. This was the same girl he had pinned down in a shabby motel ten years ago, a girl whose tears had flowed freely from pain.

Removing her coat, the woman revealed a generous expanse of white skin at her chest. The deep cleavage made Li Zhifeng question once more whether the woman before him was really the Chenyu he knew. However, the unforgettable face and appearance from his memories wouldn't deceive him. Even though the restaurant's lighting was deliberately dim, he could still faintly see the radiant expression of the young girl from ten years ago.

"What are you looking at, Zhifeng?" the woman suddenly asked, glaring at him with a pout.

Li Zhifeng hastily pulled a hand out of his crotch and waved it frantically, "No… no… I didn't…"

Chenyu giggled, covering her mouth, "Just teasing you. Why are you so flustered? I had a breast augmentation last year. They're a bit different from what you remember, aren't they, hmm?"

"Don't, no, no, that's not it," Li Zhifeng waved his hand, glancing around. Seeing that no one was paying attention to them, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.
