Chapter 74 - Chapter 74: 2 Billion Dollars in Compensation, Not a Penny Less

At this moment, the door of the laboratory suddenly slid open again.

A red-haired beauty in a black business suit walked in with a stack of documents in her arms and high heels.

It was Natasha.

"Mr. Stark," she said, walking up to Tony and handing him the documents. Her voice was soft, a professional smile on her face. "Ms. Potts, please sign this authorization document regarding the Ark Reactor New Energy Project."

"Oh? Really?" Tony took the document and threw it on the table without even looking at it.

His eyes were scanning Natasha's professional suit with interest.

"This outfit of yours is much...sexier than the one you wore last time. However, I personally suggest that you try something different next time." The corners of Natasha's mouth twitched slightly.

"I must say, Miss Natalie," he said in a teasing tone.

But she still had a smile on her face, not affected by the words at all.

"If you could sign the document first, Mr. Stark, perhaps I could consider your suggestion."

"Okay." Tony curled his lips, picked up the pen, and started signing.

After signing, he handed the document back to Natasha, still with that cynical expression on his face.

Natasha took the document, nodded politely, and then turned to leave.

She did not show any abnormality from beginning to end.

She's like a real assistant.

"Wait."

Just as she was about to walk out of the lab, Tony's voice suddenly sounded from behind her.

Natasha's body stiffened.

But she still turned around slowly, a smile still on her face.

"Anything else, Mr. Stark?"

Tony didn't say anything; he just looked at her quietly, with a sharp light in his eyes.

He slowly picked up an ordinary-looking silver USB drive from the table.

"I have something to tell your boss," he said, his voice soft enough to reach everyone's ears.

"Tell him that we must pay the 2 billion in compensation. I can't guarantee what Henry will do."

"Besides."

He paused, his eyes gradually becoming cold.

"Tell him that if he dares to send people to monitor my family again, I won't be so easy to deal with next time."

Natasha's heart skipped a beat.

There was still a smile on her face, but her heart was in turmoil.

boss?

Which boss?

Pepper Potts?

No, that's not right.

The way Tony looked at her was definitely not talking about Pepper.

Her eyes were cold and sharp, as if they had stripped away all her disguises.

He's talking about Nick Fury!

He knows?!

How could he know?!

This thought kept popping up in her mind.

She even began to doubt whether her abilities had declined.

But she is Black Widow after all.

This was the first time she had been exposed in all these years.

It only took her a second to adjust her mood.

"I don't quite understand what you mean, Mr. Stark, she said, her voice soft and her face painted with just the right amount of confusion. "Miss Potts is my boss. However, if you have anything I need to pass on, I'd be happy to help."

Her words were calm, without any flaws.

"Really?" Tony looked at her and smiled.

The smile no longer had the previous frivolity, only a chilling amusement.

"You'll understand," he said.

"Or your boss will understand."

He said that, without looking at her again, he turned around and walked back to the control console, re-joining their discussion on how to make a stubborn stone obey.

It was as if the conversation just now was just an insignificant chat.

Natasha stood there quietly, looking at Tony's confident back.

Her eyes were a little serious.

She knew that her mission this time might be much more complicated than she had imagined.

She didn't say anything more, just nodded politely.

Then, she turned around and walked out of the laboratory in high heels.

Peace returned to the underground laboratory.

Whether it was exposed or not, it was not something she should consider.

Banner looked at Tony with curiosity in his eyes.

"She..." he began hesitantly, "Is she some female agent?"

"Who knows?" Tony shrugged, looking like he didn't care. He turned his attention back to the vibranium in front of him.

"Maybe, maybe not. But it doesn't matter," he said confidently.

"The important thing is that she's an employee of Stark Industries now. As long as he's here, she has to abide by the rules. If she dares to do anything..."

He paused and continued.

He learned these secrets a few days ago when Jarvis once again broke into the SHI ELD network.

"I will let her know what corporate culture is."

But he didn't care. He was very confident that one of Henry's original plans was to take over S.H.I.E.L.D.

After he finished speaking, he no longer paid attention to the topic and looked at the vibranium in front of him.

"Okay, Bruce." He naturally changed the address from Dr. Banner to Bruce.

"Stop thinking about those insignificant women. Let's talk about business. Do you have any new ideas about this old, stubborn man? I have to say that the idea I just had. It's just a genius idea."

Upon hearing this, Banner pushed his glasses up helplessly.

Tony's ideas are always wild, but now he has encountered a problem.

"Tony," he said, his voice tired.

"We've tried it over a dozen times. The result is the same every time. The vibranium absorbs all the energy perfectly, without even heating up. It's like a true bottomless pit. I even doubt that even if another me-l mean, the Hulk-came out and pounded on it all day, he wouldn't be able to leave a scratch on it."

"That's just because your other self isn't angry enough." Tony curled his lips. His damn arrogance made him never admit his failure.

"Besides, I was just conducting some necessary exploration. Now, the exploration is over. What comes next is the real moment of genius." He said and snapped his fingers.

"Jarvis!"

"Yes, sir."

"Get all the data on that new element," he said, his eyes wild.

"Since conventional energy can't shake it, then let's use some energy that doesn't belong to this world to communicate with it properly."

Banner looked at him, at his confident and proud expression, and was stunned for a moment, and then smiled.

He knew that the man had found his toy again.

And he was also honoured to be the first audience member.
