Chapter 29 - The Celestial Youth on the Battlefield

"If I go like this, I'll definitely be found out…"He pouted miserably and paced back and forth in the corner.

"Woof! Woof!"

Shiai Hei spun around a few times, clearly trying to express something.

Annoyed, Shaowu snapped at him,"What are you barking for? Shut up."

Suddenly, a brilliant idea flashed through his mind.

Since he looked too young… then why not just change his appearance?

With that thought, he activated his transformation technique. It functioned similarly to his purification technique, but unlike before—during the Qi Refining stage—he was now in the Foundation Building stage, finally capable of using it properly.

Smoke swirled around him, and as it cleared, a young man in a white robe stood where the little boy had been.

Shiai Hei's eyes nearly popped out of his skull. He had never expected his young master to have such a skill.

The youth's face was elegant and flawless—three-dimensional features, smooth fair skin, a straight nose, lips like carved jade. Beneath heroic brows, his bright star-like eyes held deep determination and quiet wisdom. The white robe clung lightly to his form, making him look like an untouchable celestial figure bathed in sunlight.

Shaowu examined himself and asked in a calm, confident voice,

"How is it? They won't recognize me now, right?"

Shiai Hei raised a single paw and gave a dramatic thumbs-up… but something still felt off to him. Unfortunately, there was no time to dwell on it.

Shaowu scooped up the dog and slipped past several patrol teams, heading toward the battlefield.

The battle was raging in full chaos—explosions, artillery fire, and smoke consuming the horizon.

In the trenches, Shaolu saw an opportunity while his comrades were distracted. He quietly slipped past them and hid in the weakest spot of the firepower.

Unfortunately, a small squad of E-country soldiers dashed toward his position, clearly intending to seize the trench.

The leading soldier spotted Shaolu.Shaolu spotted him.Their eyes met.

A moment of pure awkwardness.

"Fire!"The leader barked in fluent E-language, and dozens of rifles immediately aimed and fired.

"It's over…! I'm really going to die!"

Shaolu burst into tears. The bullets closed in—only a dozen centimeters away from his face—when they abruptly froze in midair.

He was stunned speechless.

"Shaoge."A calm male voice echoed beside him.

He turned his head sharply and saw a handsome young man standing right next to him. Even while trembling, Shaolu managed to ask, shocked:

"D-do you… know me?"

Shaowu instantly realized his mistake and hurriedly corrected himself.

"Uhm—just shoot the enem—"

He was cut off as another wave of bullets sprayed toward them.

Shaowu's brows tightened. If these bad guys wanted to kill him, then he wouldn't bother holding back.

He raised a pale finger. All bullets suddenly suspended in front of Shaolu, frozen unnaturally in the air. With a light flick, Shaowu sent them flying—not just back, but faster than before.

In an instant, the entire enemy squad dropped to the ground, blood pooling beneath them.

Shaolu collapsed in horror, pointing at Shaowu with a trembling hand.

"Y-you… y-you… are you human or a ghost?!"

Shaowu sighed helplessly. He was just thinking that revealing his strength like this shouldn't cause trouble… hopefully his master wouldn't scold him later.

"Of course I'm human. Now hurry and tell me—where is General Wang Ying?"

Realizing this person meant no harm, Shaolu gradually relaxed. He knelt down and explained everything.

"E-Country espers… they suddenly appeared on the battlefield…"

Shaowu listened, his mind flicking back to the modern history book he had once read—
