The night begins with Alec pacing back and forth nervously in front of the mirror, continuously readjusting the buttons on his shirt. He preps for his date with Elio, but his nerves keep getting to him. Alec is dressed up in his blue and green plaid shirt, partially undone, and wearing khakis. He slumps onto his bed, freaking out.
"Why is this so hard?" Alec gets up when he has a moment of realization, "Well, this is the first time you have asked him out and not the other way around." He places his hand in front of his face, freaking out a bit more. He hears a knock at the door and immediately looks up, confused.
"I-It can't be him. He's too early," Alec says nervously. He looks at his watch, and it says 5:10. Seeing that he is on time, "Of course, he is on time."
Alec walks to the door and looks through the peephole, sees Elio through it, and opens the door nicely.
Alec blushes upon seeing him, "H-Hi, El. You look beautiful tonight."
"Thanks, you look beautiful too. You ready?
Alec nods and takes Elio's hand. They start walking down to a local restaurant, looking around at the nature around them. Alec avoids eye contact with Elio, still a bit flustered at Elio. Loving the pink and white shirt and khakis Elio is wearing. Elio takes notice of Alec being flustered, "Are you okay? You look flustered."
"I'm good," Alec says, his voice cracking a bit. They continue walking down the path to the restaurant, still enjoying the view.
Elio looks right at Alec, "You look like a nervous wreck, are you sure everything is okay?"
"I-I am? I haven't noticed," Alec responds, trying to brush it off.
Elio leans over the table and grabs Alec by the cheek, "Just be yourself, Alec. You'll be fine."
They reach the restaurant and walk inside. The hostess greets them and leads them to a table. When reading their menus, Elio notices Alec tapping his foot against the ground as their waitress gives them both a glass of water.
Elio thinks for a moment, "So, Alec. Are you excited? It's the first time you asked me out." Elio takes a sip of his water.
Alec stops tapping his foot and looks up from his menu, "Yeah, I am excited."
Their waitress returns to their table and takes their orders. While waiting, they make conversation with each other. The waitress brings them their food, Elio a vegetable stir fry, while Alec gets a lambchop with a cup of berries on the side. When they finish their dinner, Alec pays the bill and they start heading out. They decide to walk to the local movie theatre.
"So, what movie do you want to watch?" Elio asks Alec.
"This is it, I can prove how manly I can be" Alec thinks to himself. He looks to Elio, now talking out loud, "How about Screamer?"
Elio looks at Alec confused, "You sure, Alec? That's pretty scary from what I've heard," Elio asks him.
"I'm sure I can."
"I thought you weren't into scary movies. You said they 'freaked you out'."
Alec tries to blow it off, trying to appear confident, "Well I can handle it."
"Okay then."
The two of them pay for their tickets and head into the theatre. While watching it, Alec starts holding his hand onto Elio's hand. Elio notices Alec tightening his grip. During a scary part, Alec jumps a bit and Elio nudges Alec towards him, calming Alec a bit. When the movie ends, Alec and Elio walk out and face each other.
"That was so scary. I don't know if I can watch it again," Alec comments.
"I tried warning you, but you insisted," Elio mentions.
Alec groans a bit, his ears drooping a bit, "Don't remind me." Alec immediately perks back up with his ears doing the same, "Oh yeah, I do have one other thing to show you. But we have to visit my apartment first. Come on."
Alec walks Elio over to his apartment. He then grabs a telescope and they start walking back to the forest. They walk up a hill and they head to a hidden spot Alec knows. The darkness surrounding the trees making their path darker. Elio trips over a tree branch and Alec helps him up. Elio also struggles with the trees due to his tall height. When they reach the top of the hill, Elio notices an opening over a ledge with a clear view of the stars and moon.
Elio looks around in amazement, "It's beautiful! How did you find out about it?"
"I used to come here all the time with my dad who was shown by his mother, my grandma. And now I can share this with you," Alec explains.
Elio looks back at Alec, lovingly, "I'm honored."
"If you look in that direction, you'll see the Southern Star, St. Malachi, he's always been a fascinating figure to me for being the first Werewolf Saint and also being the patron saint of astronomers."
"That is interesting," Elio responds, looking towards the star.
"It really is, and over to your left there is the Elio, the tall."
Elio looks up and pushes him, laughing, "Don't you dare lie."
"No, it's true, it's right between the Unicorn constellation and that other constellation."
"Now I know you're making stuff up." Alec and Elio continue to laugh together with Alec showing Elio some more constellations. Alec packs up his telescope and they start walking down the hill and start heading back to Elio's cottage. They walk to the couch with Elio laying his head onto Alec.
Elio lifts his head up off of Alec's shoulder and looks to him, "You know, I know that your lease is almost up and I was wondering if you want to move in with me," Elio suggests to him, causing Alec to blush, jumping up.
Alec's face immediately turns red, "Y-You're serious?"
"Yeah, I was just thinking it makes more sense since we've been dating for a while now, we should take the next step. If that is what you want of course."
"Of course!" Alec responds excitedly, then immediately calms down, "I would love to live with you but it can't be for a couple months since that is when my lease is up."
"Of course, but if you want, you can stay over for the weekends," Elio tells him, Alec getting more flustered, he lays his head on Elio's shoulder, "You're such a dork, Alec." Elio starts laughing.
"Sh-Shut up. It's not like I want to be flustered right now. You keep making me this way," Alec grumbles.
"Wanna stay over tonight?" Elio asks.
"S-Sure. I-I'd love to," Alec nervously responds. He looks away from Elio out of embarrassment.
"C'mon then, let's get to bed then. I'll give you some shorts to sleep in." Elio brings Alec to his room and Alec changes out of his clothes and into Elio's shorts while Elio changes into a t-shirt and pajama pants. They then get in bed together with Alec cuddling up to Elio.
"Thank you," Alec whispers.
"No problem," Elio responds. He kisses Alec on the forehead.
Alec and Elio lay down in bed and Alec tries to fall asleep, but is unable to, catching Elio's attention. He sits up and turns over to Alec.
"What's going on?" Elio asks him, confused.
Alec gets up and turns to face Elio, "Um, it's just hard to sleep. I'm not used to sleeping with someone else. I don't want to disrupt your sleep with my tail."
"You know what, I got an idea."
"What is it?"
"Get on your side, facing away from me."
"Okay…" Alec reluctantly agrees. He turns to his side and Elio grabs his tail and places it over himself.
Alec blushes, "W-What are you doing?"
"Showing you I don't mind. Now get to sleep." Elio then places his arms over Alec and curls up to him.
"O-Okay," Alec responds, still flustered and falls asleep right next to Elio.
The next day, Alec gets up and looks over at a still asleep Elio, now facing away from him. Alec notices Elio covered in his fur and he gets a bit embarrassed. He quietly gets out of bed, trying to not disturb him and heads down to the kitchen.
In the kitchen, Alec looks through Elio's fridge, trying to find something for him to make for the both of them. He grabs a box of eggs, a package of sausage and some fruit. He gathers the pans and starts prepping to cook for the both of them. When Alec finishes, he carefully carries both of their plates to Elio's room. He wakes Elio and places him a plate of fruit and eggs, while keeping the plate of sausages and eggs.
Elio rubs his eyes, "What's going on, Alec?"
Alec smiles at him, "Made us breakfast. So eat up."
Elio yawns, "But I thought you couldn't cook."
Alec flinches, but maintains his composure, "Well, I took some classes in secret. Plus, eggs and sausages are not hard to make."
Elio blushes, "Well thank you." Alec's tail wags from happiness.
