Chapter 27 God of Law
Time flies, and hundreds of years have passed since Kronos united the gods to create golden humans.
The originally empty land now has many golden humans. These humans have no worries and do not have to worry about survival. The most common thing they do every day is to praise the gods.
The birth of these humans also prompted the perfection of more laws, the most obvious of which was order.
This brings us to Themis, the goddess of law and justice. As one of the twelve Titans, Themis's divine power has never been outstanding among the Titans.
Especially during the era when the god-king Uranus ruled, there was no order in the world, only tyranny and cruelty. The law symbolized by the goddess of law and justice was not realized, so she was naturally weak.
With the overthrow of Uranus, a new era arrived. There was no more fighting among the gods, but no one abided by the corresponding laws, and Themis remained inconspicuous.
Until the birth of mankind.
These beings have the same appearance as God, but do not possess God's great power, nor do they symbolize the life of the law and possess the same high wisdom as God.
Themis observed the ways in which these humans operated and felt that they were too disorganized and lacked restraint, so she wanted to extract a set of universal laws applicable to both gods and humans.
She had a hunch that if she could do this, her divine power would be greatly enhanced, and at the same time it would greatly promote the development of the world.
However, to do all this, she must first obtain permission from the Lord of the World, the King of Gods, Kronos.
So Themis came to the sacred mountain and asked to see the king of gods.
The image of Themis in mythology is wearing a white robe and blindfolded with a cloth, holding a scale in one hand and a long sword in the other. The blindfold symbolizes stripping away sensory interference and relying solely on rational judgment, that is, the procedure is the blindfold of justice.
As for the Libra and the Sword: the Libra represents fair measurement, and the Sword embodies the authority of punishment. The combination of the two constitutes a complete totem of judicial power.
However, she did not blindfold herself or carry a scale with her in her daily life. Instead, she had a sword on her waist, which seemed to indicate that she was not a weak goddess.
Kronos was surprised by her visit, and after listening to her story, he agreed without any hesitation.
As long as Kronos agrees to something like this that can make the world more perfect, the world will recognize him more even if he doesn't do anything substantial.
And after nearly a thousand years of hard work, he is just one step away from recognition.
He is about to become the true God-King, a well-deserved one, far surpassing the God-Kings of other gods.
Over the past thousand years, Kronos has been more of a hard worker than a heroic king of gods, trying every day to find ways to improve the world in order to gain more recognition from the world.
Compared with his father, Uranus, the god of the sky, he really has no dignity as the king of gods. There are even many third-generation gods who think that Kronos is not as respectable as Oceanus, the god of the ocean.
It was really because Oceanus was too fertile. He had more offspring than almost all the gods in the world, except for the mountain gods and the galaxy gods, who were also very fertile.
The more children he has, the more people listen to him and the more say he has. If the era of patriarchal rule had not passed, Oceanus would probably be the undisputed king of gods.
In this case, Oceanus' respect for Kronos, the king of gods, was very limited and was basically just a matter of face.
The other Titans are similar. They are kings in their respective fields and even ignore some of Kronos's orders.
Kronos had no way to deal with this and could only continue to do his own thing silently, but he did have some ideas in his mind.
He was just waiting, waiting for the day when the world would fully recognize him, waiting for the day when he would possess the mighty power of the God King to create the world. At that time, it would naturally be time for him to settle the account.
And now, that day seems to be coming soon.
Kronos had a premonition that once he helped Themis complete the law, he would be fully recognized by the world of Chaos and he would become the true king of gods.
Thinking of this, Kronos' eyes became hot. He actively provided help to Themis and basically solved any difficulties Themis had.
This made Themis quite fond of it. After thinking about it, she gave a reminder: "Great God King, perhaps you shouldn't be too lenient."
"The gods cannot trust a monarch without temper, but temper does not mean cruelty, and kindness is still a virtue."
This was an implicit reminder to Kronos of his current situation. He was almost unworthy of the title of King of Gods, but Themis also did not want him to become a tyrant like Uranus, so she added another sentence.
Kronos smiled and said nonchalantly, "Thank you for your reminder. I will keep it in mind."
Themis nodded, put away her code, and prepared to travel the earth to establish order. Before leaving, she curiously asked about her sister, the contemporary queen of gods, goddess of time Rhea.
"How is Princess Rhea doing recently? I haven't seen her for hundreds of years." Themis asked.
"She's fine," Kronos said with a smile.
"That's good." Themis finally felt relieved and said, "Then I will go and establish laws and order."
Kronos nodded and said sincerely: "May justice be with us."
After saying this, he personally sent the goddess who symbolized justice away, then returned to the sacred mountain and came to the temple of Rhea.
Rhea looked haggard at the moment, and she looked much older and in poor spirits. She was no longer the bright and beautiful girl she used to be, which meant that her essence had been damaged.
When she saw Kronos coming, there was no trace of love in Rhea's eyes, only anger mixed with fear. She carefully protected her bulging belly, her eyes full of vigilance.
But Kronos didn't care at all. He still walked up to her enthusiastically, and completely ignored Rhea's struggle and resistance. He forced her into his arms and told her what had just happened.
He was thinking about when Themis, who represented justice, law and order, would appear, which was related to when he would be fully recognized by the world.
While gently stroking Rhea's bulging belly, this determined when he would have a "snack" and gain a new rule.
Under the powerful force of Kronos, Rhea could not struggle at all. She only felt that this scene was extremely ironic.
Kronos always talked about justice and order, but what he did was the most unjust and disorderly thing.
How sad and...ridiculous this is!
