#31Chapter 31: Each One's Own Plans
God cannot be killed.
But God can be weakened.
Just like they are both ocean gods, the ocean god Oceanus becomes stronger and stronger, while the primitive sea god Pontus becomes weaker and weaker, the two sides can compete for power.
So Cronus went to Pontus to suppress Oceanus.
Based on the same principle, Kronos came to the Temple of Fate and found the three goddesses of fate. The one he wanted to suppress was Taron, the god of fate.
Kronos was cautious by nature, even to the point of being suspicious. He could not tolerate any existence that could threaten him.
Therefore, the moment he ascended to the throne of God, he was deeply wary of Tarun, who could even influence the fate of the God King.
Moreover, people are more afraid of Tarun than Oceanus. After all, Oceanus is just powerful, while the most frightening thing about Tarun is the unknown.
He is so mysterious, so mysterious that no one knows how powerful he is, and no one knows how much he knows.
The only thing the gods knew was that for Tarun, the level of divine power could not measure him, and his apparent weakness did not mean anything.
After all, when he still had a little divine power, he predicted the end of the great god-king Uranus.
When he was still a medium-level divine power, a single sentence stopped Uranus from cursing with all his might.
Who would dare to believe that a guy like this only has the weak power that he appears to have?
At least Kronos didn't believe it, nor did he dare to believe it.
The existence of such a guy is like a thorn in his throat as the God King. He endured it before when he didn't have the power, but now that he is recognized by the world and possesses the complete power of the God King, he still doesn't try to find a way to deal with it. Then, isn't it a waste for him to possess the power of the God King?
However, due to his cautious nature, he would not engage in head-on conflict. Whether it was Taren, Oceanus, or other beings that he feared, he would not suppress them openly.
What he is best at is driving tigers to devour wolves, provoking disputes, and making plans behind the scenes where no one can see.
This is also the biggest difference between him and Uranus, the god-king who likes to do things himself.
However, facing the three equally mysterious goddesses of fate, whose backgrounds were unknown, Kronos was still very polite. At least he did not use direct threats or inducements like he did to the primordial sea god Pontus.
After the three goddesses of fate expressed doubts and then flatly rejected him, Kronos did not show any dissatisfaction. Instead, he asked seriously:
"Beautiful goddesses, why do you reject me? Do you think my apology is not sincere enough?"
He deliberately put on a distressed look and said helplessly, "But your divine power is so mysterious. The only gift I can think of that would be worthy of yours is more divine power of fate."
"This will make you extremely powerful, allowing you to glimpse more of the trajectory of fate. Isn't this what you like?"
His attitude was so sincere that there was nothing wrong with it. The three goddesses of fate looked at each other with strange expressions.
The eldest sister, Clotho, spoke after some thought, looking at Kronos with a complicated look:
"Your Majesty, the great Divine King, we do not wish to possess more authority, for everything is predetermined by fate, and as its subordinates, we must respect it."
"We do not want to get involved in the struggle between theocrats. This is also not in line with our ideas. Please forgive me, Your Majesty." The second sister Lachesis added.
"But thank you for your kindness, Your Majesty. We will remember your care." The youngest goddess Atropos concluded.
After being rejected again, Kronos still did not seem to have any dissatisfaction. He nodded thoughtfully and said with a smile: "I see. I am being presumptuous."
"Then can I ask for the prophecy about fate?" Kronos thought for a moment and said.
"Of course, Your Majesty," the three goddesses said simultaneously, "It is our honor to share your worries."
"I wonder if Pontus, the primordial sea god, will attack Oceanus, the great ocean god. After all, they seem to have a long-standing grudge against each other."
Kronos said this with a worried look on his face, as if he really was a good god king who was worried about fighting.
"Yes, the primordial sea god Pontus will take action against the ocean god Oceanus in the near future."
The goddesses answered in the affirmative. They looked at Kronos meaningfully but said nothing.
"That's too bad." Kronos sighed and asked, "If I have any questions in the future, can I come visit again?"
"Of course, Your Majesty."
After getting the answer he wanted, Kronos said goodbye and left with satisfaction.
Although the three goddesses of fate rejected him and were unwilling to fight for power, this was not unexpected.
Because these involve the gods of fate, and perhaps because they have seen so many things, one or two of them always have their own ideas and are difficult to convince.
Therefore, the main purpose of his visit this time was actually to test the attitudes of these three goddesses and see if they could be used for his own purposes.
Facing the mysterious Taren, Kronos was always worried. He needed the gods who were also involved in the field of destiny to stand on his side and give hints when necessary.
It will now depend on whether Pontus will act soon. If so, it would mean that these three goddesses also have the ability to predict the future.
Then he will choose these three goddesses to give him advice in the future, so as to get rid of and replace Tarun.
But getting rid of and replacing him was only the first step. His real goal was to find a way to completely seal Taren and lock him in the abyss Tartarus after he was no longer of any use to him.
Only in this way can he feel at ease.
With his thoughts becoming clearer, Kronos returned to the sacred mountain and came to the temple of Rhea.
With the help of Gaia, the goddess of the earth, Kronos did not realize that Rhea had ever left, and everything was the same as usual.
But as he got closer, he quickly discovered something was wrong with Rhea.
"Are you pregnant with our child again?" he asked in surprise, but no longer as flustered as when he first discovered this.
Anyway, he would devour the baby as soon as it was born, just like he had never been born. Kronos felt that he had broken the curse, so of course he was no longer worried.
Rhea looked at him coldly without saying a word.
Kronos had long been accustomed to Rhea's attitude, and instead began to speculate with some anticipation about the child's divine duties, because as long as he devoured the child, he would be able to obtain the corresponding laws.
For him, this is equivalent to having a new ability that will make him stronger.
Thinking of this, he even felt a little happy.
Rhea looked at Kronos in front of her and felt that he was extremely unfamiliar. The greedy look he gave her as he looked at her lower abdomen made her almost want to vomit.
"I must end this."
She said this in her heart, and the look hidden in her eyes became more determined.
