Abra, whose eyes had always been half-closed, suddenly opened them wide— —but instead of pupils, there was the same eerie red glow shining within! A dazzling blue light burst from Abra's body as its form began to shift and expand.
It was… evolving! The playful smile on Ash's face gradually faded into seriousness. This wasn't an accidental evolution—it was clearly intentional. Could psychic power… actually force a Pokémon to evolve?Or was Abra simply at the brink of evolution already? Before Ash could finish the thought, the light faded, revealing a new Pokémon. Still a golden fox in appearance, but now with two long whiskers trailing from its cheeks.
Its frame was larger, a silver spoon clutched in one hand, a massive tail sweeping behind it, and a star gleaming on its forehead. Abra's evolved form—Kadabra! If Abra was considered one of the weakest Psychic-types, then Kadabra was among its elites. A carp leaping over the dragon gate—besides Magikarp, the phrase also perfectly described Abra.
"Well? Afraid now? Do you still think your little lizard with its toys can beat me?" "Toys?" Ash glanced at the training weights strapped to Charmander's body and instantly understood what she meant. You call those toys? "Then let me show you how strong my 'toy-less' Charmander can be!" "Charmander, she just showed us an evolution—let's give her one of our own!" "Char!" Ash no longer held back.
The aura within him flared to its fullest—and merged seamlessly with Charmander's aura! The fusion was perfectly synchronized. This was one of Ash's ultimate aura combat techniques—a move he named Aura Fusion! By merging his aura with his Pokémon's, he could drastically enhance its strength. But the move had a condition—it required absolute trust and a deep bond between trainer and Pokémon.
The Pokémon had to believe in him completely, and he in them. So far, Ash could only use this technique with Pikachu and Charmander—his strongest partners, whose bonds with him ran deepest. There was no need to even mention Pikachu. And Charmander? Ash had pulled him back from the very gates of death. His trust in Ash was absolute. As their auras fused, Charmander felt the energy within him surge past its limits—he could no longer contain it! In the next instant, his entire body exploded with brilliant blue light. Another evolution! Misty and Brock stood frozen, stunned speechless.
Evolution was already a rare sight—but two back-to-back evolutions in the same battle? Unheard of. When the light faded, Charmander was no longer Charmander. He had become Charmeleon! Charmeleon threw back his head and roared, a pillar of searing flame blasting from his jaws and scorching the Gym's ceiling black. The training weights that had bound him burst apart and clattered to the floor. Then, his sharp eyes locked onto his opponent—Kadabra.
The battle was about to begin! A flicker of surprise crossed Sabrina's eyes—she hadn't expected Ash's Charmander to evolve mid-battle as well. But this was still a match, and she forced down the unease rising in her heart.
Kadabra, use Psychic! Sabrina didn't even speak aloud—she communicated telepathically. In this state, their minds were as one. A single thought from her was enough for Kadabra to act instantly—far faster than shouting commands. Kadabra raised its spoon, eyes glowing red as invisible psychic force shot outward— —but before the energy could even touch Charmeleon, the fire lizard vanished! In the blink of an eye, Charmeleon appeared right in front of Kadabra. Both Kadabra and Sabrina's expressions changed drastically—his speed was unbelievable, so fast that even her psychic perception couldn't keep up! Charmeleon opened his jaws wide, and a torrent of blazing flame erupted forth—engulfing Kadabra completely! The inferno tore past Kadabra, grazing Sabrina herself before slamming into the Gym wall behind her. BOOM! A thunderous explosion shook the entire Gym.
Sabrina's gem-bright eyes went wide with shock. When the flames finally faded— Kadabra lay motionless on the floor, completely incapacitated. One move. Instant knockout.

Riley is a mysterious Pokémon Trainer from the Sinnoh region, known for his ability to use Aura and his strong bond with his signature Pokémon, Lucario. He is a stoic and selfless individual who trains on Iron Island and aids the player character.
Kadabra is a Psychic-type Pokémon known as the "Psi Pokémon". It always carries a silver spoon, which it uses to amplify its strong telekinetic powers.
