At that moment, Sabrina's father stroked his chin, his eyes gleaming with insight. He hadn't exactly been the most competent parent… but that smile of Sabrina's—it all but screamed "I like you." Sabrina herself looked thoughtful, her gaze flickering slightly. So… another version of me actually fell for Ash? To be honest, she wasn't even sure how she felt herself. But one thing was certain—she did harbor a special affection toward him.
After all, it was Ash who had sent Haunter to pull her out of that frozen, lonely world—the one that had once sealed her heart away. Without him, she wouldn't even know how to smile like she did now. So yes—saying she felt nothing would be a lie. Of course, this version of her had been saved through Haunter's mischief.
But the other her—the one from the Black World—was saved directly by Black Ash himself. She had faced him head-on, been moved by his passion for battle, and finally freed herself from her childhood trauma thanks to his words. It was only natural, then, that the Sabrina of the Black World would feel something far stronger for him.
[Lorelei: Hmm? If even her father says so… could it really be true?]
[Brock:Cough! Speaking as someone with extensive—albeit unsuccessful—romantic experience, I can say with confidence that Black World Sabrina has totally fallen for Ash! My love life's a disaster, but my instincts are solid!]
[Brock: Honestly though, Black Ash's emotional intelligence is off the charts! The way he treats both his Pokémon and girls—if our Ash were even half that smooth, Misty would've already—]
"Oh?" "Already what, exactly?" Misty yanked Brock's ear with a dangerously sweet smile. Sensing the murderous aura radiating from her, both Pikachu and Ash instinctively shuffled two steps to the side. What had Brock said to trigger that? He'd hit on girls countless times before, but Misty had never looked this terrifying.
[Sakura: Hey! Don't stop there! What were you gonna say Misty would've done?]
[Brock: N-nothing! Just a typo! A typo, I swear!]
[Ash: Wait, hold up… in that world I could actually command Charmeleon?]
[Misty: Of course! Have you seen how skilled Black Ash is? The guy literally synced with Charmeleon through Aura—their bond is insane!]
[Brock: Right? His Charmeleon evolved at Saffron Gym! Yours didn't evolve until Fuchsia City!]
[Brock: Plus, his Charmeleon was trained step by step by his own hand. Yours? More like a free-range Charmeleon—doesn't even listen half the time!]
[Ash: O-okay, okay! I get it! I'm not that great a Trainer yet, alright?!]
Ash pouted but didn't argue back. In the past, he'd have shot back with stubborn pride, but now… he'd grown up a lot. And besides, the truth was right there. The gap between him and Black Ash was obvious—and enormous. In the end, there was only one reason for that difference: Black Ash worked hard, while he… hadn't worked hard enough.
In the Black World—
After shaking hands with Ash, Sabrina smiled radiantly for the first time in her life. With her stunning face and that newly freed warmth, even Ash found himself momentarily dazed. "Sabrina… you're back!" A deep voice suddenly came from behind him, making Ash jump. He turned—and saw Sabrina's father standing there. The sight made Sabrina's face stiffen slightly. Her smile faded a little. She hadn't fully forgiven her father yet—but she no longer looked at him with the same hatred as before.
Finally, she released her mother from her doll form, and the family was reunited at last. It was thanks to this battle—and to Ash—that she'd found herself again. Later, at the Gym entrance, Sabrina handed Ash the Marsh Badge. After a moment of hesitation, she spoke softly. "Ash, you're going to compete in the Indigo League, right?" "Of course! And not just compete—I'm going to win!" "Then… I'll come cheer for you."
"Heh, thanks, Sabrina!" Behind them, Misty frowned slightly, a strange feeling twisting in her chest. Was this… the scent of a rival?Still— she smirked inwardly. They probably wouldn't meet again anyway.A little Sabrina? Hardly a threat. .jpg
As the screen darkened and Ash's party departed, the footage slowly faded out. The story of Black Ash had come to a pause—and it was time for White Ash's story to resume. Many watching felt reluctant; Compared to White Ash, Black Ash was basically the protagonist of a power fantasy novel! Nothing seemed to stump him—and he didn't even rely on cheats or luck. Just sheer effort… and a dash of destiny.
The white screen flickered to life again—
Previously, Ash had earned the Marsh Badge from Saffron Gym, and now he and his friends were on their way to Celadon City. Along the road, Ash captured a fiery Primeape who had a fondness for his hat—though the rowdy Pokémon wasn't exactly obedient. Once they arrived in Celadon, Misty got distracted by the alluring scent of perfumes, dragging Brock along into a perfume shop.
Ash, impatient to challenge the Gym, made the grave mistake of insulting the shop's fragrances. Unfortunately, the shop owner happened to be none other than the Celadon Gym Leader herself. As a result, Ash was promptly banned from entering the Gym.
At this point, Ash—watching from the viewing room—suddenly went pale. Traumatic memories came flooding back. If he remembered correctly… in order to enter that Gym, he had…
[Ash: STOP! PLEASE—DON'T SHOW THAT PART!!!]
[Lance: ???]
[Cynthia: ???] What on earth had happened to make him freak out like that? Misty and Brock beside him were covering their mouths, snickering. Clearly, they remembered.
In the White World—
Barred from entering Celadon Gym, Ash was at his wit's end—until he stumbled upon Team Rocket, who had been thrown out and tied up outside. The trio promised him: if he helped them, they'd get him inside the Gym. Naïve as ever, young Ash agreed without hesitation. After being freed, Team Rocket kept their promise—and did indeed bring him inside. Though… their method was a bit unconventional.
Ash… went in disguised as a girl. Wearing a frilly dress, a long wig, and forcing his voice an octave higher, he infiltrated Celadon Gym as "Ashley." Because when it comes to crossdressing—there are only two kinds of people: those who've never done it once… and those who've done it countless times!
PS :
Primeape is a Fighting-type Pig Monkey Pokémon that is perpetually furious and will chase anyone who makes eye contact with it. When enraged, its blood circulation is boosted, making its muscles stronger, but it also becomes much less intelligent. Some researchers theorize that it remains angry even inside a Poké Ball.
