Chapter 22 - That aspect

In the afternoon, Dragon began teaching Luo Yan Haki as promised, starting with Armament Haki.

Just like that, Luo Yan spent a regular seven days on this island. After seven days, both ships weighed anchor and set sail.

During these days, Luo Yan had almost thoroughly explained the basics of mysticism. Of course, it was only the basics, as Luo Yan also had to hold some things back.

As for his Haki learning progress, Luo Yan was a bit disappointed. Even now, his Armament Haki remained at a theoretical level, and he couldn't actually use Haki yet.

Luo Yan lay on a beach chair on the foredeck, gazing at the clear blue sky. He smacked his lips twice, then couldn't help but let out a long sigh.

"Sigh… Haki really isn't that easy to learn. What should I do?"

Luo Yan groaned and rolled over, just in time to see Xia Tali emerge from the cabin holding two glass test tubes. One contained a dark green liquid, and the other a deep purple liquid.

"Captain, you seem troubled?"

Xia Tali looked at Luo Yan curiously. Luo Yan nodded, returning to his previous posture.

"Yes, I'm conflicted."

"Conflicted about what?"

"Conflicted about whether to continue staying with the Revolutionary Army under the guise of teaching after completing the transaction, in order to learn Haki, or to immediately head to the Grand Line."

Xia Tali tilted her head, showing her confusion.

"What's there to be conflicted about? Haven't we been getting along very well with the Revolutionary Army these past few days? It shouldn't matter if we stay a bit longer, right?"

"You don't understand. My time is very tight. I have things I must do, and they must be done before a certain event occurs, otherwise my future promotions will become much more difficult."

"I see… It's best for you to make up your own mind about such things. Oh, by the way, I've just formulated some new potions. Would you like to try them?"

Xia Tali didn't offer advice but changed the subject, handing over the two test tubes she held. Luo Yan sat up slightly, glanced at the test tubes, then looked at Xia Tali's face.

"What kind of potions are these?"

"The green one is an anesthetic. After drinking it, you won't feel pain for half an hour, but your mind will also become muddled. The purple one is a sedative, which can make a person more rational and weaken desires."

"Hmm! Both are very good potions, but I don't need them right now. Go find Mite and Luo Ta to test them. I won't be needing them."

Luo Yan first affirmed the value of the two potions, then flatly rejected the suggestion of testing them. He didn't want to become drowsy and unwilling to do anything.

Upon hearing this, Xia Tali suddenly looked a bit embarrassed.

"Mite and Luo Ta… *cough, cough*! In short, they're not willing to test any more potions for a while."

"What happened?"

Luo Yan smelled trouble. Xia Tali hesitated for a moment, then decided to confess.

"Mite previously asked me to formulate a potion that could enhance… enhance *that* aspect of his ability. So I formulated it, but it wasn't very successful. He tried it, and… well, then he was beaten up by Luo Ta."

"Huh? *That* aspect? Which aspect? Why would he be beaten up by Luo Ta?"

Luo Yan was utterly confused, completely unaware of the situation. Xia Tali bit her lip lightly, her cheeks flushing crimson.

"It's *that* aspect, you know, becoming better in bed!"

"Oh~~ So, when you say it wasn't very successful, what do you mean?"

"The… the potion I formulated, while it could enhance *that* aspect, leaned more towards being an aphrodisiac. After Mite drank it, he lost control. When I saw things going wrong, I ran to find Luo Ta. It turned out Mite actually tried to get on Luo Ta, so Luo Ta beat him up. That's why I quickly formulated these two other potions, intending to solve Mite's problem, but I'm afraid giving them directly to Mite might cause another accident…"

Xia Tali's voice grew softer and softer as she spoke, and her head involuntarily drooped. Luo Yan finally understood.

"I get it now. After your explanation, I'm even more afraid to test the potions. You should just give them directly to Mite, or let Luo Ta drink them. Hiss! Wait, that's not right. How could Mite have the nerve to ask you to make such a potion?"

Luo Yan hadn't thought much at first, but belatedly realized something was off. Mite, a grown man, asking Xia Tali, a woman, to formulate a potion for *that* aspect – it was practically telling Xia Tali that he wasn't very good. Luo Yan believed that if such a thing happened to him, he would absolutely never have the nerve to do it.

Upon hearing this, Xia Tali's face turned even redder.

"When we were in Loguetown, didn't you give each of us 100,000 Beri? Mite and Luo Ta went to Happy Street. I heard Luo Ta was dragged out by Mite. Luo Ta was particularly displeased about it, so he directly told me that Mite wasn't good in *that* aspect. At the time, Mite wished he could dig a hole and bury himself. Later, he asked me to formulate the potion."

"Oh! Such a thing happened? It seems I missed a good show when I went to find Dragon. Where did you go when they went to Happy Street to have fun?"

"Me? I went to the herb shop to buy herbs."

Luo Yan suddenly understood, and finally realized why Xia Tali hadn't mentioned collecting herbs on the deserted island during those days—she had already bought a lot of herbs and didn't need to collect any more.

"Still, I won't test the potions. Just force them on Mite, or let Luo Ta drink them."

"Then, then Captain, will you come with me? Luo Ta is guarding Mite."

"Alright."

To avoid becoming a guinea pig himself, Luo Yan agreed to Xia Tali's request for company and followed her into the cabin, arriving at Luo Ta's room. He immediately saw Mite lying on the floor, his face bruised and swollen, his hands and feet tied, and Luo Ta standing guard beside him.

"Captain, you're here? This Mite, he actually tried to assault Xia Tali, so I gave him a beating."

As soon as Luo Ta saw Luo Yan, he immediately complained, slightly twisting the facts. Xia Tali opened her mouth several times as if to say something, but ultimately couldn't speak.

Observing this, Luo Yan understood. Perhaps Luo Ta's complaint wasn't entirely twisted, it was just that Luo Ta didn't know Mite had taken a potion.

"*Cough, cough*! Luo Ta, you, go check if the ship has deviated from its course."

"Aye! Alright."

Luo Ta responded and left the room. Once the door closed, Luo Yan signaled Xia Tali to give Mite the potions.

Xia Tali hesitated for a moment, then stepped forward and poured the two tubes of potion into Mite's mouth, followed by a tube of healing potion. The bruises on Mite's face disappeared at a visible speed, and he quickly woke up. However, upon waking, Mite's eyes were unfocused, like a salted fish that had lost its dreams.

After an early voyage, Luo Yan's ship docked at a bustling city port. This city was much more prosperous than Loguetown, but Luo Yan didn't know where it was.
