Chapter 11 - My home and family

Before I knew it, I started to regain consciousness. The last I remembered was being lifted by that huge monster, and now I'm being carried in the sky. Was I dreaming, or am I dead? But that can't be; I can still feel my body intact despite not moving at all. I couldn't let the guy who rescued me see I woke up; he'd definitely bombard me with questions and think I was a total idiot for waiting to be eaten. No way I can handle such embarrassment.

I thought at the moment my face was turning beet red while the wind coursed through my hair. It was cold, but at the same time I got a warm, tingly feeling and unconsciously held onto the strange man tightly. After all, it's not every day you meet a good-looking stud who happened to be passing by and saved your ass. But not only that, but I was in for another lucky surprise when the man stopped and descended to the ground gracefully; not a scratch was on him. This guy was really handsome from his dark-toned black hair to the golden blue eyes that reflected back on me He somewhat resembled a young teenage boy, but his physique body type said otherwise.

"Oi, I know you're awake, human. You can let go and stop staring at me like you'd devour me. This isn't some freelancing runway model where you can look at me freely without cost. You're lucky I spared some of my time and decided to save your sorry, wimpy, pathetic ass and carried you back home to your family. They must be worried about you, but it looks like they haven't noticed you left the house.

"Hey... human, do you have rocks stuffed up your ears? I said wake up!!"

His tone was impatient and a little rude. The least he can do is introduce himself instead of throwing my dignity across the floor. Yes, I know I wasn't supposed to wander in places like that at night, but it wasn't totally my fault. I was injured, for crying out loud, and passed out after the nurse treated me... I may have overslept a little, but I was not going to admit my own incompetence for just lying down and allowing the monster to pick me up and eat me. No way I could admit such shame on my name, not to mention I couldn't drag my family that I haven't met yet into this. They're poor and live a simple life; I can only imagine what the previous body owner went through.

"Hey human!!! If you don't wake up by the time I count to three, then I promise you I will skin you alive."

I'M UP!

I'M UP!!

no need to, um, resort to violence, sir. I'm up, alive, and happy

I tried to please him in a way half-heartedly so he didn't get any urge to kill me. If he slayed the beast himself, I definitely don't want to find out what he can do to me!!

See, I'm dancing. I'm all good thanks to the great master who saved me. I am forever in your debt. I bow down to you, so please accept my humble peace offering for wasting your precious time.

I still cannot believe I'm doing this. I've never humiliated myself in front of anyone before, but I have to swallow my pride to not get killed again. There are so many dangers in this world. One mistake and it's bye-bye for me i better stay away from people and stick to the ones who will be of better use to me with giving information about this world and who iam and how i got here but for now the only thing i can do is make sure appease this strange man.

"Well then, since you've apologized properly, I can consider sparing you for the minor offenses taken. You don't seem to know who I am, but that doesn't matter now, does it, little girl...."

He reached out to me, using one hand to grip my chin to tilt my head back. Who does this jackass think he is, walking in here with this self-righteous attitude just because he saved me? If it wasn't for the fact that he did and if he wasn't so crazy powerful, I'd have put one up in his handsome face!! This man is just all talk. I hope I never meet such scum again!!!

"Yes, I am truly grateful for you, sir. I hope you have some safe travels along the way."

"My, my, aren't you the sweet talker... I'm sure you'll make an... interesting person one day. Well, I have to go now. You stay out of trouble because next time you're a dead girl."

He took one last look at me with that smug look on his face. I wanted to smash off it so bad before disappearing through a black portal he opened up, leaving me alone with my thoughts The small house that stood before me was my next step in getting some answers, so I take my very first steps towards the house, not knowing what awaits there, but one thing's for sure: I'll face it head-on this time.
