As the sun peeked through the window casting a gentle glow over the dawn of a new day ,Maya was faced to the choice, to rise and take on the world with vigor or hit snooze and retreat under the comforting folds of her blanket.
It was the beginning of a new day and a new life for her, she a lot of application letters to hand in to different places and she knew it wasn't time for her to cry about what happened the day before and the ball was in her coat. She rose and went straight into the bathroom to freshen up, having shower she emerged from the bathroom. She wore a pair of black jeans, White sneakers and white T-shirt .Maya wasn't a fan of makeup Or should I say didn't know how to apply makeup that why she wasn't so keen about it and never took the time to learn how to do it since she was always focused on her designs.
After her graduation she spent most of her time making new designs, be it fashion designs or Jewellery designs. This is the reason why your ex-boyfriend Jake thought she could be blame for their breakup because she was always busy. Picking up her brown envelope Maya made it out of the hotel room, ready to forge a new path for herself.
The day was spent when Maya walked into a small cafe across the street from the hotel. She was exhausted and needed something to calm her nerves. She ordered a cup of strong black coffee with no sugar,she was never one to drink strong coffee but she really needed it at that time. Drinking her coffee she found herself reminiscing about her past, how her life was before her mum passed away leaving her with no one to call her own. She remembered she was only 10 years old when her mum passed away in a tragic car accident.
It was her birthday, her mother had left to get her a cake but she never came back only the news of her passing came back .Since that day Maya never celebrated her birthday that was until yesterday, when she decided to start afresh and celebrate her birthday only to learn that she had been living a lie thinking that she had a boyfriend and a father, still on her birthday she learned she was being betrayed guess she was born on an unlucky day.
She was brought out of her thoughts by the sound of finger snapping in front of her eyes. Looking up she saw a man standing there ,a very handsome man to be precise he stood at 5'10 with a lean and Atletic build. He had dark brown,thick and stylish messy hair ,a golden undertone skin and oval face with high cheekbones and a strong jawline and bright blue eyes. The man pulled the chair in front of her and sat down. She didn't realise she had been staring until he cleared his throat.
"Uhm,sorry" Maya apologised soft,shy voice
" It's okay, I know I'm handsome and all, but your face tells me I've been underestimating myself. Sorry to bother you but you looked like someone who could really use someone to talk to,so her I am. Ethan Matthews is my name and what's your name beautiful?"
" Maya, Maya Jones, nice to meet you Ethan"
" Same here, so if I may ask what's got you so distracted Maya"
