After leaving the restaurant, Wanda took Xiao Han's arm and looked up at the Gotham night sky.
"This city is a bit depressing," she said softly.
Xiao Han's gaze swept across the street, his super hearing catching the whispers of the city.
The sound of sirens, the low chuckles of criminals, and Batman's footsteps in the shadows.
"Let's go."
He took Wanda's hand and said, "Let's find a place to rest."
The two strolled along the street and eventually chose a luxury hotel.
The receptionist greeted them politely, and Xiao Han casually took out a black card and registered for a top-floor suite.
The elevator slowly ascended, and Wanda leaned on Xiao Han's shoulder, yawning: "This city is even more bustling than New York."
Xiao Han ruffled her hair: "That's because you haven't been to Hell's Kitchen."
The elevator doors opened, and they walked down the corridor to the end, swiping their cards to enter the suite.
The room was spacious and luxurious, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a view of Gotham's nightscape, brightly lit yet tinged with a touch of melancholy.
Wanda walked to the window, gazing thoughtfully at the Wayne Building in the distance.
"Do you think Batman is watching us right now?" she suddenly asked.
Xiao Han chuckled lightly: "He must already know we're here."
Wanda turned around and sat down at the table by the window: "So, are we going to see him tomorrow?"
Xiao Han walked to her side and gently stroked her cheek: "No rush, let's see how things are in this world first."
"So?" Wanda asked curiously.
Do you really think Clark will turn to the dark side?
Xiao Han turned around and sat down opposite her. "According to the comic book setting, Superman's turn to the dark side usually requires a trigger."
"For example?" Wanda asked, tilting her head.
"Louis Lane's death," Xiao Han said calmly.
"In most parallel universes, Superman turns evil because he lost her."
Wanda nodded thoughtfully: "I understand, that's the pain of losing a loved one."
"Almost." Xiao Han picked up the remote control on the table and turned on the TV.
"However, in this world, the situation may be more complicated."
The evening news was playing on television, with the female anchor giving a serious report on the aftermath of the Arkham incident.
The scene shifts to a blurry figure of Batman, who leaps from a rooftop and disappears into the darkness.
"Do you think Batman will believe us?" Wanda's eyes followed the images on the television screen.
Xiao Han chuckled lightly: "Bruce Wayne never trusts anyone easily, especially Kryptonians who suddenly appear."
Wanda put down her cup, crimson energy flowing between her fingertips: "Shouldn't we be careful?"
"No need."
Xiao Han reached out and grasped her wrist, and the energy immediately subsided. "If he comes looking for trouble, I'll handle it."
Wanda suddenly thought of something and her eyes lit up: "Do you think Clark's corruption might be because of Kryptonite? If someone killed him with Kryptonite, he might not trust humans anymore after being resurrected."
Xiao Han raised an eyebrow: "Not a bad guess. However, in this world, Batman seems to have already taken precautions."
Xiao Han's watch suddenly projected an image, showing Batman's laboratory.
He was fiddling with a green stone.
"See? He was prepared all along." Xiao Han pointed to the screen.
Wanda frowned. "This is so sad. Clark is such a kind person, yet he has to face this kind of suspicion."
Xiao Han turned off the TV, and the room fell into a brief silence.
The neon lights outside the window shone through the curtains, casting a halo in front of the two of them.
"Every world has its own problems," he finally said.
"Just like we have Hydra and Skrulls where we live."
Wanda stood up and walked to the window. "At least we've solved part of the problem."
Xiao Han walked to her side and put his arm around her waist: "Are you tired?"
Wanda nestled against him and nodded. "A little. I used quite a bit of magical energy today."
"Take a rest."
Xiao Han kissed the top of her head. "Let's go on a trip tomorrow."
The two walked to the spacious bed, and Wanda couldn't help but yawn as soon as she lay down.
Xiao Han covered her with the blanket, then leaned against the headboard.
"Aren't you going to sleep?" Wanda asked groggily.
"Kryptonians don't need that much sleep." Xiao Han gently stroked her red hair.
"Go to sleep, I'll stay with you."
Wanda, still half-asleep, grabbed his hand and murmured, "Don't overwork yourself, Xiao."
The morning sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Gotham Hotel's penthouse suite, bathing the room in a soft golden glow.
Wanda rolled over on the soft bed, her red hair scattered on the pillow, her eyelashes trembling slightly.
She slowly opened her eyes and found that the bed beside her was empty, but the sheets still retained warmth.
Wanda propped herself up, the silk sheet slipping off her shoulders, revealing several ambiguous red marks on her fair skin.
"Xiao?" she called softly, her voice still carrying the languor of someone who had just woken up.
There was no response.
Wanda stepped barefoot onto the soft carpet and casually grabbed the black shirt Xiao Han had worn the night before and put it on.
The hem of her shirt just covered her thighs, revealing them intermittently as she walked.
She pushed open the bedroom door and was immediately captivated by the scene before her.
Xiao Han was lying on a chair in front of the floor-to-ceiling window in the living room, sunlight streaming through the glass and falling on his perfect body.
He was only wearing a pair of black casual pants, and his muscle lines were as defined as those of an ancient Greek sculpture in the sunlight.
He closed his eyes, his face calm, as if absorbing the energy of the sunlight.
Wanda leaned against the door frame, unconsciously holding her breath.
Even though they were already very close, this man could still make her heart race.
"Have you seen enough?" Xiao Han suddenly asked, a slight smile playing on his lips.
Wanda's cheeks flushed slightly, but she quickly raised her chin: "Not enough."
Xiao Han opened his eyes and turned to walk towards Wanda.
"Did you sleep well?" He reached out and gently stroked Wanda's cheek.
"Um."
Wanda nodded, her red hair swaying gently with the movement. "I'm just a little hungry."
Xiao Han chuckled softly, his fingers tracing her chin: "I had the hotel send breakfast over."
Ten minutes later
The doorbell rang
Xiao Han waved his hand casually, and the door lock opened automatically. A food cart slowly slid into the room, filled with all kinds of exquisite breakfast items.
The two enjoyed their breakfast, with Wanda occasionally stealing glances at Xiao Han.
He looked even more radiant in the sunlight than usual.
In the literal sense.
"Where are we going today?" Wanda asked, her words muffled as she took a bite of her maple syrup-covered waffle.
Xiao Han took a sip of coffee: "World travel."
Wanda continued, "Like a normal couple?"
"More or less." Xiao Han put down his cup. "But we'll use a special method."
Twenty minutes later, the two stood on the hotel rooftop.
The morning mist in Gotham had not yet completely dissipated, and the city appeared and disappeared in the sunlight, like a dream.
"Are you ready?" Xiao Han held out his hand.
Wanda grasped it without hesitation: "Anytime is fine."
The next second, Xiao Han's bio-force field enveloped the two of them, and they slowly rose into the air.
Wanda gasped and instinctively grabbed Xiao Han's arm.
"Don't be afraid." Xiao Han's voice was still clear in the wind.
"I won't let you fall."
Wanda quickly adapted to the feeling, excitedly looking down at the city that was getting smaller and smaller.
"This is much more exciting than flying with magic!"
Xiao Han smiled slightly and suddenly accelerated.
Gotham shrank into a tiny dot in an instant as they passed through the clouds and entered the stratosphere.
The curvature of the Earth is clearly visible beneath your feet, and the azure sea and green land create a picturesque scene.
"First stop," Xiao Han pointed into the distance.
"Paris."
