After touring all across Europe, they continued heading north, enjoying the breathtaking scenery along the way.
The snow-covered Alps sparkled brilliantly beneath the sunlight.
Xiao Han and Wanda landed atop the Matterhorn, surrounded by endless snow-capped peaks and ancient glaciers.
"It's so beautiful..."
Wanda sighed softly.
The breath she exhaled instantly condensed into white mist in the frigid air.
Xiao Han's biofield shielded her from the freezing cold, allowing her to comfortably admire the magnificent landscape.
They wandered among the snowy peaks.
Using her magic, Wanda drew an enormous heart in the snow.
Xiao Han then took her beneath a glacier into a crystal-blue ice cave, where shimmering ice crystals refracted dreamlike sapphire light.
They even encountered a group of snow leopards.
Instead of fear, the elegant predators regarded the two unexpected visitors with nothing but curiosity.
Around noon, they arrived at a small town at the foot of the mountain and enjoyed a steaming pot of cheese fondue inside a cozy wooden lodge restaurant.
Outside the window stretched a breathtaking snow-covered mountain range.
Inside, a warm fireplace crackled as delicious food filled the room with comforting aromas.
"Where to next?"
Xiao Han asked while sipping his coffee.
"Siberia."
"I've always wanted to see it."
Wanda replied, twirling melted cheese around her fork.
Xiao Han glanced out the window.
"Siberia sounds good."
Wanda blinked.
"Do you know what's over there?"
"Honestly?"
"I've never been."
After lunch, Xiao Han carried Wanda into the sky once more.
Flying eastward at supersonic speed, the scenery beneath them shifted from Europe's snowy mountains to the endless Russian plains before finally giving way to the vast Siberian wilderness.
Under the moonlight, Siberia possessed a desolate yet majestic beauty.
Endless forests of coniferous trees swayed in the icy wind.
Occasionally, distant wolf howls echoed through the frozen wilderness.
Xiao Han descended, landing beside a frozen lake with Wanda.
"It's so quiet here."
Wanda looked around.
Xiao Han didn't answer.
Instead, he suddenly looked toward the horizon.
"There's a base over there."
Following his gaze, Wanda saw faint outlines of low buildings and barbed-wire fences nestled beneath a distant mountain.
"In a place this deserted?"
"Why would there be a military base?"
Xiao Han's eyes glowed gold.
His enhanced vision pierced through every obstacle.
"I don't know."
"But underground..."
"There's a prison."
"And inside..."
"A girl is being held captive."
"A criminal?"
Wanda frowned.
Xiao Han's expression became serious.
"No."
"She's Kryptonian too."
"What?"
Wanda's eyes widened.
"I get it..."
"You mean..."
"Supergirl?"
Xiao Han nodded.
"Kara Zor-El."
"Another Kryptonian."
"It seems she exists in this world as well."
Wanda immediately clenched her fists as scarlet Chaos Magic flowed around her fingers.
"We have to rescue her!"
Xiao Han's biofield enveloped them once again.
The next instant, they appeared directly above the base.
From above, the secret installation resembled a heavily fortified military research facility.
Automatic machine guns lined the walls.
Patrolling soldiers carried specialized weapons.
Wanda narrowed her eyes.
"Those weapons..."
"Just a few toys."
Xiao Han chuckled.
Her crimson hair danced in the freezing wind.
"I'll deal with the guards."
"You rescue Kara."
Without waiting for a response, Wanda dove downward.
Scarlet Chaos Magic formed a protective barrier around her while countless crimson threads shot toward the guards below.
The soldiers didn't even have time to sound the alarm before collapsing unconscious.
Xiao Han followed immediately behind.
Heat Vision erupted from his eyes, melting straight through the reinforced ground.
Three levels underground...
Inside a prison cell constructed from lead and kryptonite alloy...
Kara Zor-El.
The Supergirl of this world.
She sat curled up in the corner.
Her golden hair had long since lost its luster.
Her blue suit was torn and ragged.
Specially designed kryptonite restraints bound both her wrists and ankles.
Suddenly—
The entire prison shook violently.
The ceiling exploded inward.
As dust filled the room, a red-haired woman gracefully descended through the opening.
Scarlet magical energy illuminated the dark prison.
Kara weakly raised her head.
Her pale blonde hair clung messily to her bloodless cheeks.
Her blue eyes were filled with caution and confusion.
But the instant sunlight streamed through the broken ceiling and fell upon her...
Her pupils suddenly contracted.
"...The sun..."
Her voice was so hoarse it was barely audible.
Xiao Han's eyes lit up once more.
His Heat Vision instantly vaporized the kryptonite shackles.
Wanda gently supported Kara's trembling shoulders as scarlet energy softly enveloped her body.
"Don't be afraid."
"We're getting you out of here."
Standing nearby, Xiao Han used his super vision to examine Kara's condition.
He could clearly see her Kryptonian cells greedily absorbing sunlight—
Like parched earth finally receiving torrential rain.
However...
Years of imprisonment had left her severely malnourished.
Her cellular activity was less than one-tenth that of a healthy Kryptonian.
"She's in worse shape than I expected."
Xiao Han frowned.
"She needs energy immediately."
Suddenly,
Kara grabbed Wanda's wrist.
Her grip was astonishingly powerful.
"Who..."
"...are you?"
Her English carried an unusual accent, as though she hadn't spoken it in many years.
"We're here to help you."
Wanda didn't pull away.
Instead, she gently stroked Kara's back with her free hand.
"Can you stand?"
Kara tried moving her legs.
She barely took a step before stumbling.
Xiao Han instantly appeared at her side, catching her before she could fall.
The moment his skin touched hers...
Their Kryptonian cells resonated with one another.
Kara's eyes widened in disbelief.
"You're..."
"...a Kryptonian too?"
She stared at Xiao Han in shock.
"I thought..."
"I was the only one."
"It's a long story."
"We should leave first."
Xiao Han answered briefly.
With one hand, he opened a golden portal.
With the other, he effortlessly lifted Kara into his arms.
Wanda followed immediately behind.
The three stepped through the portal.
An instant later,
they appeared atop a high ridge in the Siberian wilderness.
The midday sun poured down unobstructed.
Still in Xiao Han's arms,
Kara suddenly began trembling violently.
"Thank you..."
"Please..."
"Put me down."
she called weakly.
Xiao Han gently laid her upon a flat stone.
Immediately,
Kara curled into herself like an injured animal, greedily absorbing every ray of sunlight.
A faint golden glow gradually spread across her skin.
Her dull, lifeless hair slowly regained its brilliant golden shine.
Watching nearby, Wanda asked worriedly,
"Will she absorb too much?"
"Kryptonian cells possess natural self-protection mechanisms."
Xiao Han answered calmly.
Before he even finished speaking—
Kara suddenly threw back her head and screamed in agony.
Blazing light erupted from her eyes!
Two uncontrollable beams of Heat Vision shot into the sky, burning massive holes straight through the clouds.
"Hold her down!"
Xiao Han shouted.
Wanda immediately formed restraints out of Chaos Magic, binding Kara's arms and legs.
Xiao Han stepped forward.
Placing both hands gently against Kara's temples, he channeled his own biofield into her body, helping stabilize the rampaging solar energy.
"Breathe."
"Slowly."
His deep voice carried an almost hypnotic calming effect.
"Feel the flow of sunlight."
"Don't resist it."
"Guide it."
Kara's chest rose and fell violently.
Gradually,
the Heat Vision weakened...
Until it disappeared entirely.
She collapsed onto the rock, gasping for breath.
Sweat soaked her tattered prison uniform.
"I..."
"I can't control it."
she whispered painfully.
Xiao Han withdrew his hands.
Taking a spare jacket from his system storage, he draped it over her shoulders.
"This happens the first time a Kryptonian experiences sunlight."
"Your cells have been starving for far too long."
"They need time to adapt."
Wanda dismissed the magical restraints before gently wiping the sweat from Kara's forehead.
"Why did those humans imprison you?"
Anger flashed across Kara's eyes.
"They found my spaceship."
"They treated me like a laboratory specimen."
Her English was becoming noticeably more fluent.
The incredible learning ability of Kryptonians was rapidly returning.
Xiao Han and Wanda exchanged a glance.
Clearly,
the governments of this world already knew of extraterrestrial life...
And they had no hesitation about conducting inhumane experiments.
"We'll take you away from here."
Wanda said firmly.
Kara managed a weak smile.
"Thank you..."
"But..."
"Please wait a little longer."
"Recover first."
Xiao Han nodded.
Wanda blinked curiously.
"You're Kryptonian."
"When did you come to Earth?"
Kara's voice gradually regained strength.
"My ship malfunctioned."
"I drifted through the Phantom Zone for a very long time."
"I think..."
"I crossed into another universe."
"By the time I finally reached Earth..."
"...more than twenty years had already passed."
Xiao Han looked at her thoughtfully.
Judging by the timeline,
Kara had likely experienced relativistic effects while trapped in the Phantom Zone.
Although she was chronologically older than Superman,
her biological age remained much younger.
And from what she had described,
it seemed she had accidentally traveled from a parallel version of Krypton into this universe.
"What about you?"
Kara looked curiously at Xiao Han.
"You're Kryptonian too."
"I've been imprisoned for over ten years."
"I don't know anything about what's happened outside."
She couldn't help but feel curious about this fellow survivor of Krypton.
