Chapter 36 - You are home

Back at their dorm, Sanemi unlocked the door and held it open for Giyuu.

"Get some rest. And... thanks for telling me about him." His voice was gruff but sincere, and he gave Giyuu a gentle nudge toward his bed. Giyuu paused before climbing into bed.

"Thanks for listening. And for being here."

He settled under his covers, already feeling the pull of sleep.

"Goodnight, Sanemi." Giyuu blinked in surprise as Sanemi climbed in beside him, his usual gruff expression replaced with something softer. "Whoa, what are you doing?" He shifted slightly to make room, but kept his voice questioning. Sanemi settled in, his presence warm and protective. "Just shut up and let me sleep. Your bed's more comfortable than mine." He closed his eyes, pretending nonchalance despite the intimate gesture.

"And you're still recovering. Someone needs to make sure you don't roll off." Giyuu rolled his eyes but couldn't hide a small smile.

"Right. Because you're such a selfless roommate." He shifted closer, finding comfort in Sanemi's unexpected closeness. "Just don't snore too loud." Sanemi cracked one eye open, a hint of his usual smirk appearing. "I don't snore. You do. Like a damn chainsaw."

He adjusted his position, unconsciously wrapping an arm around Giyuu's waist to keep him steady.

"Now go to sleep before I change my mind about being nice." Giyuu chuckled softly, relaxing into Sanemi's embrace.

"Fine, fine. Goodnight, Sanemi." The warmth between them created a peaceful atmosphere, and Giyuu's breathing gradually slowed as he drifted off to sleep. Sanemi watched Giyuu fall asleep, his expression uncharacteristically gentle.

"Night, Giyuu." He whispered, then closed his eyes. The steady rhythm of Giyuu's breathing lulled him into his own peaceful slumber, their shared warmth creating a cocoon of safety and comfort. Hours passed, and the moonlight streaming through the window cast soft shadows across their sleeping forms. In his sleep, Sanemi unconsciously pulled Giyuu closer, protecting him even in dreams.

The peaceful night continued, broken only by the occasional rustle of leaves outside and their synchronized breathing. As dawn approached, Giyuu stirred slightly in his sleep, nestling closer to Sanemi's warmth. The room was still dark, but the first hints of morning light were beginning to creep in.

Sanemi remained deeply asleep, his usual scowl softened in unconsciousness. His hand rested protectively on Giyuu's back, keeping him secure. Giyuu settled back into a deeper sleep, his face peaceful and relaxed.

The gentle rise and fall of his chest matched Sanemi's steady breathing, creating a harmonious rhythm. The early morning hours passed quietly, both boys wrapped in the comfort of their shared warmth and unspoken connection. Giyuu's alarm clock went off. Sanemi groaned and reached over Giyuu to smack the alarm clock, his eyes still closed.

"Turn that damn thing off... it's too early..."

He muttered sleepily, trying to pull Giyuu closer to block out the noise. Sanemi sighed in frustration as Giyuu didn't wake up to silence the alarm. He reluctantly opened his eyes, blinking against the morning light.

"Giyuu, your alarm..." He grumbled, but couldn't bring himself to fully wake the still-sleeping boy in his arms. Sanemi rolled his eyes and finally reached over to shut off the alarm himself, his movements careful not to disturb Giyuu too much. "Stubborn idiot..." He whispered, settling back down and resigning himself to let Giyuu sleep a bit longer. His fingers absently played with a strand of Giyuu's dark hair. The peaceful morning continued, with birds chirping outside and sunlight streaming through the window. Sanemi found himself watching Giyuu sleep, a soft expression on his usually stern face.

He unconsciously started tracing small circles on Giyuu's back, the gentle motion soothing both of them. Giyuu's phone vibrated again this time a bit louder.

Sanemi growled in irritation, this time more forcefully silencing the alarm. "Wake up, Giyuu! Or I'm throwing your damn phone out the window." He shook Giyuu's shoulder gently but firmly, his patience wearing thin. Sanemi sighed in relief as Giyuu stirred, though his expression remained annoyed. "Finally. Thought I'd have to dump ice water on you." He watched as Giyuu slowly opened his eyes, his messy hair falling across his face. Giyuu blinked sleepily, looking disoriented for a moment before registering Sanemi's presence and their close proximity.

"Morning... What time is it?" He mumbled, trying to sit up but finding himself still partially trapped by Sanemi's arm. Sanemi stretched lazily, finally releasing Giyuu from his hold.

"Too damn early. You've got classes soon, right?" He rubbed his eyes and yawned, still looking half-asleep himself despite his complaints about the alarm. Giyuu nodded, slowly sitting up and running a hand through his messy hair.

"Yeah... I should get ready." He paused, glancing at Sanemi with a mix of confusion and curiosity about their current sleeping arrangement. Sanemi chuckled and lean closer to the black haired man. "Any problem if I join you under the shower?" Giyuu's cheeks flushed slightly at the suggestion, though he tried to maintain his composure.

"You're already thinking about that? Just get up and make coffee, Sanemi." He stood up and stretched, heading toward the bathroom while trying to hide his smile. Sanemi smirked at Giyuu's flustered response, propping himself up on his elbows.

"Playing hard to get today, huh? Fine, I'll make coffee. But don't take too long in there."

He swung his legs over the side of the bed, his eyes following Giyuu's retreating form with clear amusement. Sanemi headed to the kitchen, pulling out the coffee maker with practiced ease. He started preparing their morning drinks, occasionally glancing toward the bathroom.

"Hey Giyuu, you better not use all the hot water!" He called out, his voice carrying a teasing tone as he measured out the coffee grounds. The sound of running water could be heard from the bathroom, followed by Giyuu's muffled response.

"You can join me if you're so worried about it!"

Sanemi chuckled at the invitation, his movements becoming more deliberate as he waited for the coffee to brew. Sanemi grinned and quickly shed his clothes, heading toward the bathroom door.

"Don't say I didn't warn you when I waste water making out with you instead of showering."

He pushed open the door, steam immediately hitting his face as he stepped inside. The warm water cascaded over both of them as Sanemi wrapped his arms around Giyuu from behind.

"Much better than coffee, don't you think?"

He murmured against Giyuu's ear, his hands exploring the wet skin of his boyfriend's chest.
